I hold about 450 - 500k dps on singke target. Now for the actual question. Is there anything my wong with my talents, percentages, or legendaries that could make me do more dmg?

This exact question is the whole purpose of the guide. You can find everything you need there.

The problem with this is that the guide doesnt give soft caps or hard caps for stats, and i know BiS is next to pointless thanks to mythic+ but even just a general idea or stat weights for pawn, or even which 4 tier pieces are best to use etc would be helpful to the unholy dk community. Looking at the other classes the dk guides are very lacking in information for seasoned dk players.

The build i use is BASED off those guides, im looking for ways to be better.

I noticed the build and talent section of this guide, recommend Necrosis talent, however there is no information in Rotation section about Necrosis, and nothing about the death coil usage alternating with Clawing Shadow to generate the buff.

Hi everyone!

I have a question about the artifact progression: This guide suggests that you should take Death's Harbinger and Black Claws very late. The wowhead guide on the other hand says that you should take them right after 4 points in plaguebearer and the darkest crusade. I would like to ask if you could provide any more insight into why you take them so late. Are they actually worse than the other dps traits? A 4th point in Rotten Touch for instance does basically nothing at this point, I'd guess that it's less than a 1% dps increase overall.

Thanks!

Unholy is actually one of the few that does provide a guideline for this, given the 20% approximate cap of Haste. Unfortunately, things change depending on gear and we can't tailor caps exactly to each person's gear. The only way to know exactly when a stat becomes more or less useful is by simming a character for the stat weights and we can't do that for everyone. If we provide general weights, they won't work for everyone and can end up making people worse off than if they had sought out their own weights through SimC.

I'll pass on what you've said about the tier pieces though.

Will get this fixed ASAP! Meanwhile, check out Brett's comment if you haven't already.

For necrosis you want to use dwath coil before every one-two clawing shadows to get as mych uptime on necrosis as possible.

Thanks for helping to answer that :)

I'd like to answer, but I don't want to speak for the reviewer, just in case I get it wrong. Pinging @Drtain to take a look.

@Zataron Death's harbringer is virtually useless 3 runes is rarely ever something you'll be like omg thanks i get 3 runes. And assuming you have bracers, black claws are also useless nearly. If you don't have bracers they are be considered about equally but if you have bracers there is almost no reason to take black claws. The wowhead guide relies completely off of sims, while my is a combination of sims and logic. While yes sims often give you good information sims are not real world performance nor to they always lead to correct answers. In real world performance black claws is a dps loss to get over other traits because it forces you to get a useless trait (Death's Harbringer) because you can get to the trait that is sub-par. The best way i can say this is, Which is going to do more dps Death's harbringer + Black Claws, or Rotten touch and Deadliest coil? Deadly coil will offer you the bigger increase. (This is a example)

Thanks @Drtain !

As you're quite a high level player, do you happen to have you ways to Blizzard's ears ?

I find the Dark Claws trait to be actually almost a nerf.

How can you correctly prepare Apocalypse with wounds that pop randomly ? Every time I have to overcap wounds and make sure I'm at 8 before I can cast SR and Apo, in fear the ghoul will explode too many wounds.

Or maybe would you recommend no to use DT until after Apocalypse has been used ?

There aren't many people that have this, no matter their ability in-game :p

Indeed, that sad :). Yet, what do you feel about the last golden ? will ou delay DT ?

Would you just Apo > DT to avoid the small possibility of it popping before you can pop wounds with Apo?

Yes, that's what I tried today. Not sure sure it's worth, but it definitely removes the stress of having to cap wounds to be able to SR + Apo and seeing that apo won't pop 6 ghouls.

After that, with the 3runes refund, I'm spamming wounds again, then DT right away.

I'd say results were Ok : https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/cQBxXbWtynp47CAw

but there's probably room for improvement.

The thing is that someone (I don't have that level of expertise unfortunately) should calculate what's the biggest loss between :

Overcapping wounds to reach 8 so you can SR, Apo while DT is active,

or delaying DT so you can SR + Apo with 6 wounds up, as before,

or going for like, 6-8 wounds (without trying to reach 8 at all costs), then SR and Apo, knowing that you could have like 4 popping, with real bad luck. (thus, only 4 ghouls.) Would prolly be even worse with the T20 2p. (still hoping that thing will be reworked too before it goes live).

@Faelosia Probably doesn't really matter. With that said it's probably easiest to delay it. For an opener i guess it'd be easiest to do something like this. Plague>FS>FS>SR>apo>DT then assuming you play perfectly you'll never have to delay DT again for the rest of the fight as it'll not come up before apo or if it does it'll time out before hand unless you have 3/3 relics for DT duration, which in that case rest in peace. Even if it's a loss on sims or something, sometimes sims do not equate to real world performance, which is why necrosis (at least before they buffed it to 40%) was a dps loss and not taken.

@Drtain Indeed, many thanks for your feedback.

For your opener though, does it mean you're going to Apo even with less than 6wounds, or were you just representing the ideal situation where at least 6 wounds would pop from 2 SR ?

When Apo was bursting all wounds I remember it was worth to explode at 7 or 8, but now that we're limited to 6 I've always considered any number less than 6 was a DPS loss. Am I correct ?

It's very likely that he was giving an ideal situation, yeah.

The new War Within Allied Races was added to the Alpha today and we already have a full look at not only all their customization options, but their dances as well, courtesy of MrGM! You can check out the Earthen's racial abilities here if you missed them earlier.
Let's start with the more dynamic feature, with both male and female dances:
And then there's big amount of customization options, as well as a size comparison with regular dwarves:

So, are we liking the new Allied Race overall? More than actual dwarves?

Here's a really cool possibility for the War Within, as a very subtle and mildly mysterious comment from Executive Producer and Vice President for WoW, Holly Longdale, may be hinting at our Warband characters getting a lot more involved in our travels!
First spotted by UlthansWrath, Longdale came up to Taliesin & Evitel at the recent London War Within Alpha press event and had a short chat about the Warband screen, when she casually said "wouldn't it be cool if those were the characters you took as your followers in your Follower Dungeons?" After the obvious confirmation from Taliesin and Evitel that, yes, yes it would be cool, she just said "hm" and that was the end of the conversation.
Obviously this isn't any sort of official confirmation, but considering this is a really awesome idea, it seems likely Blizzard are at the very least discussing it, if not already working on it.

The Warband system is already great, and this would add a lot to it for players that choose to go solo into dungeons, as it would give them even more motivation to get some great characters in their Warband - even if it was just a cosmetic option.
So, what do you think, will we be seeing this feature when the War Within launches?

Affliction is getting plenty of changes today as well, with Blizzard detailing the reasoning behind certain choices.
      Affliction (Source)
      Greetings Warlocks,
Today, we have various Core and Affliction tree changes hitting the Alpha. We want to take a moment to go a bit more in depth as to what certain changes were made and why. As a refresher, here are the goals for our Core and Afflictions that we posted last week along with some additional goals that we can dig into here.
      Class
Ensure each capstone is interesting and exciting. Reduce the amount of throughput talents, to free up utility choices. Reduce the number of ranks for talents that don’t warrant multiple ranks. Affliction
Address the tuning of Malefic Rapture in single-target and multi-target situations. Reduce complexity and the amount of active buttons that contribute to it. Erase the need to choose between a single-target or multi-target profile by adding more adaptability and flexibility. While we cannot go over every change here, we’d like to get a bit more detailed than last week’s update and explain some of the bigger changes coming in this build.
      Class Tree Throughput
We’re removing a lot of throughput talents from the class tree to allow warlocks to pick up more utility without feeling forced to take mandatory talents to be competitive. These talents aren’t compelling options when placed against utility as they will always be the right answer to have. This allows us to move that power into the specialization trees and tailor throughput-centric talents to be specific to that specialization’s gameplay.
      Malefic Rapture
In addition to becoming baseline for Affliction, we are introducing new talents that will help Malefic Rapture become the go-to spender for both single-target and multi-target situations. This should also shift Seed of Corruption to being a means to apply Corruption to multiple targets rather than what you spam in dungeons. In addition, we are redesigning Siphon Life to be friendlier to Affliction’s rotation and expect that its new design will make it easier to optimize Malefic Rapture.
      Affliction’s Adaptability
While we do want Affliction warlocks to have a preferred talent setup for single- versus multi-target situations, we don’t want it to feel like they are powerless if they are in the opposite situation. By focusing on Malefic Rapture being Affliction’s main spender and removing talents that are only valuable in multi-target situations (Soul Flame, Soul Swap, Doom Blossom, etc.), we’re hoping that the Affliction tree feels less punishing to fill out.
      Is This It?
Not at all. We expect to make changes based on feedback and our own playtesting. We want to get the ball rolling on changes we knew we want to make, so we could start the discussion early on and make adjustments before The War Within launches.
Thank you all for the continued discussions and we look forward to your feedback!
And here are the full changes from the development notes:
