hearthstone Tavern Brawl: Captain Blackheart's Treasure

This week's Tavern Brawl is Captain Blackheart's Treasure. It is the fourth time that this Brawl has been used.

Captain Blackheart's Treasure was most recently used as the  63rd Tavern Brawl, in late August. This week is the 72nd Tavern Brawl, so as you can see, it is a pretty quick repeat. In this Brawl you are given a deck full of Bloodsail Raiders, and each turn are offered a choice of three cards to put into your hand.

As always, I would remind people that I feel this is a more skillful Brawl than it first appears. It teaches a lot about planning ahead, and also tempo in general. Given that players can play this Brawl with no cards of their own, I am a big fan of this Brawl from a design standpoint.

Captain Blackheart's Treasure was originally designed to showcase the Discover mechanic for The League of Explorers. It actually made its debut late however, as it was withdrawn due to technical issues.

The RNG is definitely strong in this one. Add the fact that it's super slow and I won't be playing any more than needed to get the free pack.

I kinda like this arena draft simulator. Easy pack, skill reliant (in comparison to other brawls), but the games tend to be longer.

Completely agree, fun mechanic, good for players to train planning ahead, but very slow gameplay...

Gonna go ahead and agree with the time problem. Games just take so long..

Year of the Mammoth Arena Guide now available!
Our Arena Guide has been updated by Pesty, to fully reflect the format for The Year of the Mammoth.
As well as the new tier list for classes, the guide addresses each class in detail, so that you can get the most out of your Arena draft. It also discusses which Mana curves work well with which class, and how to pick on your opponents' likely weaknesses.
The new Tier List is shown below:
Tier 1 (Excellent): Mage, Rogue Tier 2 (Great): Paladin, Hunter Tier 3 (Good): Druid, Priest, Shaman, Warlock, Tier 4 (Average): Warrior For any feedback or questions about this guide, check out our Hearthstone General Discussion Forum, or comment in this thread.

The 97th Tavern Brawl is called 'An Ancient Recipe' and it offers players the chance to try out Journey to Un'Goro decks.
The rules of this Brawl are simple: you choose a hero and you get a premade deck with the Un'Goro deck recipe for that class. The deck archetypes are the following and we even have guides for most of them:
Quest Druid Dinomancer Hunter Elemental Mage (guide for almost identical deck here) Quest Paladin Quest Priest Quest Rogue Elemental Shaman Quest Warlock Quest Warrior All deck recipes have pretty good winning chances. This is a nice chance to play with cards you don't own and get to know the new Hearthstone expansion better.
