Why are they keeping adding effects and mechanics that summons minions but doesn't trigger Battlecry, while at the same time, more Battlecry minions with worse and worse stats? Almost feel like they are trolling the players. And yet the equivalent effects are done much better in Yu-gi-oh and MTG long before HS.

If you dont wanna waste your battlecry with those effects and mechanics, build your deck around deathrattle minions. By the way, battlecry is the most powerful effect in the game because there is nothing that your opponent can do about it, while deathrattle minions can be silenced, stolen etc. then you can understand why they receive less stats than other minions, their jobs are done at the moment they hit the board.

4. Dungeon Run

Dungeon runs are a new game mode in which, you will start with a small deck of your choice and battle through 8 increasingly encounters (out of 48 possible).

I think you mean to say increasingly 'difficult' encounters.

Also, love the coverage great job, this expansion will be awesome!

Thanks for pointing this out! This should be fixed soon.

We are getting closer to the release and I'm still not sure to pre-purchase or not.

Maybe some of you who are like me with HS have a suggestion. I am ok with spending a bit money here and there for a game I enjoy but I wouldn't sell my house and mother for it :D and I don't want to waste money or regret spending it. I am interested in other players' opinion too but if you are a consequent F2P player or someone who doesn't care about money at all your opinion might not matter that much ;). Xou might still have an objective opinion though.

As I see it K&C has definitely a few nice cards but also a lot of hard rubbish, too. Of course we (I) may underestimate some cards, that happens with every new expansion, I guess, but currently it feels like I can get the cards I want from the free packs granted and crafting the rest. But then is this, I don't want to regret not getting the pre-purchase :D

So how are you doing it?

  • Do you pre-purchse (or already did) and hoping it will be (was) a good choice?
  • or are you confident about K&C and say it's worth to pre-purchase?
  • or are you still undecided like me? :D
  • or would you suggest to save my money?

Would be nice if you include your average pay behavior ("I'm F2P" or "I just buy a lot and everything" or something that's in between those two) in your answer. Thanks. :)

I am F2P, the only thing I bought was the welcome-package for 5 Euro.

Personally, I'd never spent around 1 euro / 1 pack. Way too expensvive IMO.

Nevertheless I can't say what you should do - personally I will never spent this much for a pack. But on the other hand I don't get that much dust and I'll never be able to have 3 or 4 different Tier 1/2 decks.

If it is more important to you to have several decks then buying now seems way more sensible then paying even more later.

I was planning to pre-purchase at the beginning, but then as cards are revealed, I gave up, because most of the cards suck so badly and the good ones are from the classes I will not play anyways, like priest.

There was a point where I was thinking of preordering to be honest, after seeing new warlock and rogue cards (also a big collection never hurts) but then, I've looked at the cards and realized that, I want like 10 of the new cards so far and I will open 30 packs anyways. I also have enough dust to craft 2 legendaries.

If things do not end up as anticipated, I can always buy packs later.

Just so you know, I only bought 3×15 packs for KFT and I am missing 35 cards(out of 247)

All in all, you should wait for todays reveals, then decide whether to preorder or not but I don't think K&C is good enough to gamble on playability of cards.

That's is pretty much my issue ;)

I will definitely do that.

Thank you both for your suggestions, maybe I will end up flipping a coin if I can't decide :D

The reveal season for Rastakhan's Rumble has kicked off with the customary live stream. This time, the hosts are Senior Game Designer Peter Whalen and Regiskillbin.
The stream has conculded. All the cards revealed will also be added into our Rastakhan's Rumble hub. The full schedule for the following card reveals can be found here.
      Nine cards were revealed:

The counter doesn't start over if you bounce Jan'alai!
The Hero Power hitting adjacent minions counts for Jan'alai's counter! However, Ice Walker only freezes the targeted minion and not the adjacent ones with the Spirit present.

Dave Kosak is here in the latest Hearthside Chat video to talk about the lore of Rastakhan's Rumble. He also revealed two Priest cards: the Loa of Death, Bwonsamdi, and his Spirit!
If you haven't played Battle for Azeroth, the latest WoW expansion, then this video is going to be helpful in understanding the backstory of Rastakhan's Rumble:
The two Priest cards revealed in the video synergise very well with each other:

As Peter Whalen and Liv Breeden mentioned in their r/Hearthstone interview, Spirits are meant to be build-around cards and this is pretty apparent with Spirit of the Dead. Apart from the obvious synergy with Bwonsamdi, the Priest Spirit can work wonders in a Clone Priest deck along with Zerek's Cloning Gallery. Spirit of the Dead can also find a spot in other archetypes like Resurrect, Big and Deathrattle Priest. The card itself is quite slow and requires some setting-up, but it looks very versatile.

Bwonsamdi, the Loa of Death, can be used simiply to draw Spirit of the Dead, then you can kill him while the Spirit is up and shuffle him back to your deck. It's easy to see the Spirit work without Bwonsamdi, but the opposite - Bwonsamdi working without his Spirit - looks like a slim possibility. Given that all Class cards in this expansion are designed to work as a "team", we might see a card (apart from the Spirit) that can make Bwonsamdi more viable. Otherwise, the Hunter Quest never really caught on, so why would it work in a traditionally anti-aggro class like Priest?

We have a new Tavern Brawl this week and the rules are simple: both players get to have two turns, instead of one.
This starts from the very beginning of the game, therefore giving a big advantage to Player 1. Don't be surprised if your opponent concedes when he/she finds out that he/she has to go second (or if you have to do it)!
Doomsayer is a must-have on this Tavern Brawl, since it clears the board immediately. Flappy Bird is also a useful card and Aggro decks are generally favoured. OTK decks also can work great since you have two turns to set up your... one-turn kill. You can also experiment with Open the Waygate and Temporus; both cards work and they give you a third turn!
