so. when I read the Unholy DK statistic Guide.. i found

  • Strength;

  • Hit Rating (until 8% chance to hit);

  • Haste Rating;

  • Critical Strike Rating;

  • Mastery Rating;

  • Expertise Rating (until 26)
but at the bottom i read... "Expertise Rating reduces the chance that your attacks will be dodged. For Unholy, this statistic has little value and you should always reforge out of it and generally avoid it."

so.. its 0 exp or 26 exp ??

if its 26 exp.. isnt it should be like this ?

  • Strength;

  • Hit Rating (until 8% chance to hit);

  • Expertise Rating (until 26)

  • Haste Rating;

  • Critical Strike Rating;

  • Mastery Rating;

Its 26 but not an important stat. You're never going to get 0 expertise, but you need to make sure you never go over 26.

The point is that you should never go over 26, because beyond 26 it provides you with no benefits (unless you are attacking the boss from the front, which you shouldn't be doing).

However, reaching "26" has a low priority for Unholy Death Knights (as opposed to most other melee classes, who need 26 to perform competitively).

In practice, you should:

  • Not reforge into Expertise Rating or enchant/gem for it.
  • Try to find items without Expertise Rating on them.
  • Reforge out of Expertise Ratings on items where you cannot avoid it.
Even so, until you get to 26, Expertise Rating has a small value to you, so it's not entirely a wasted statistic, it's just a very weak one.

well.. here is my armory link http://us.battle.net...ajador/advanced

i got 0 expertise.. is it bad ?? or good ??

That's good. Your reforging is mostly good, but there are some places where you don't follow our suggested stat priority of Haste > Crit > Mastery.

  • Chest. You reforged Hit to Mastery instead of to Haste.
  • Ring (Ring of Torn Flesh). You reforged Crit to Haste, instead of reforging Mastery to Haste. You are also missing a gem here :)
  • Boots. You reforged Crit to Mastery when you shouldn't have changed anything on the item.
  • Legs. You should reforge Mastery to Crit.
  • Hands. You reforged Crit to Haste, when you should have reforged Mastery to Haste.

is it right?? the setting

You should reverse the weights of Critical Strike Rating and Mastery Rating, to bring WoWReforge's suggestions in accord with our recommended stat priority (set Crit to 0.8 and Mastery to 0.7).

He's using Gurth - meaning mastery has priority over crit.

Ah, you're right! It had somehow slipped my mind what weapon he's using :)

In that case, yes, the settings are right in wowreforge :)

well.there is a definate discrepancy here. on one hand you are suggesting to reforge from expertise, but on the other in your dk guide you are telling us straight down to reach 7.5%. can you do me a favor and make up your mind on the expertise factor for UNHOLY DKs?

yours always, Che.

      Anybody can help with this? I'm using simcraft to get the stat priority for my MM's gear but it is giving me crazy results, not sure why. Agility=83.13, Ap=80.24, CritRating=0.83, HasteRating=46.84, MasteryRating=1.04, Versatility=217.72, Dps=297.72
      According to stat priority lists, such as the icy veins one, mastery should be the predominant stat. Now I understand that it can change depending on gear and other things, but this much???
      I've attached a screenshot wit the settings in simcraft, in case it helps.
      Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong? Sorry if it's a noob question.
      Cheers!

      About Us
      Skunkworks is a guild for players who can not or do not want to commit to the time-intensive raid schedules of traditional "hardcore" guilds.
      However, we still maintain a high caliber player environment and make an efficient use of our raiding time.
      We raid Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 - 11:00 PST, just 8 hours a week and never more.

      We are very protective of our guild environment and selective in recruitment. We are looking for solid players mechanically as well as intellectually.
      We all get paid to deal with idiots, why should we pay to spend our leisure time with them as well?

      Skunkworks has been around for multiple expansions and has historically always been at the top of the 2-night raiding guild scene.

      Hello all! I figured i'd make this thread to get some up to date information on the AOE rotation for unholy.  Currently i'm 935 ilvl, and I run Incstructor's fourth lesson and Soul. (For lack of a better option.) However it is my understanding that these two legendaries make for the strongest aoe rotation. Is this true?

       That is my first question. My second is what is the priority for aoe when running these two. Is it to wait for defile to drop, then festering wound a target a couple times, then Scourge Strike? Or is the priority to just put Wounds on then pop them asap, dropping the defile whenever it's available. Typically I wait for defile before I start building Wounds, but given the soul and the extra talent, i suspect it's better to just aoe without Defile if it's unavailable or perhaps just better to rarely spend runes on defile? Curious as to your thoughts!
