Mage's Spellstone card for hints at a potential Elemental theme for the class in the upcoming set.

Mage's Spellstone was revealed today by Chinese Hearthstone streamer LvGe, hinting at a potential Elemental theme for the Mage class in K&C:

The upgraded versions of Ruby Spellstone will provide an additional random Mage Spell for every two Elementals you can play while this card is in your hand, meaning that this card is capable of becoming a two mana Cabalist's Tome! The lesser version of this spell isn't very enticing, but both of the upgraded versions of Ruby Spellstone seem like quite the deal. Unfortunately, the requirement to upgrade Ruby Spellstone is quite prohibitive and will likely hold this card back from seeing widespread play on the ladder.

Let us know what you think about Ruby Spellstone in the comment section, and be sure to check out our Kobolds and Catacombs hub for more information on the upcoming set.

Pretty much agree with what you said.  Doubt it will be enough to make elemental mage good, but it will be in every elemental mage deck.

maybe if they bring out another cool mage elemental it would be more attractive. I generally dont like elemental builds though

I am not really impressed by the card and wow another card with "random" effect.

It only fits in an elemental deck which makes it ok, with another (any mage can use) upgrade it would be an auto include.

But I never really like Cabalist's Tome. Too much random, ofc it's likely to get at least one spell you really want but then you could just draw it from your deck instead of losing tempo by playing a card to get it.

If you happen to play a more elemental heavy deck this might be really good because usually you have to cut some spells/tools to make room for elementals. This could give you a nice way to get some extra stuff you had to cut. And if you really like to play ele mage, as a rare card, it's easy to get it out of a pack or still affordable to craft.

Am I really the only one that sees alot of potential here with the mage quest. I dont know how elementals might fit in a mage quest deck but it seems a really strong synergy.

How long until these quests even rotate out?

Long. Around April 2019.

Actually, the mage quest will rotate in april 2019 as they said, but the base of the Exodia deck is rotating faster: cabalist tome and babbling book are rotating next year. I think that the next build of Exodia mage will be an elemental deck, as nowaday there exist at least 2 elemental that give you spell, and the Death Knight might become necessary if Ice Block will go to Hall of Fame...

Attacks with Lifesteal will no longer create excessive animations while Auchenai Soulpriest and Bolf Ramshield are on the board. Granting a Deathrattle to Scavenging Hyena, then playing Terrorscale Stalker on it will no longer give it +2/+1. The animation for Frost Nova will no longer play multiples times while Moorabi is on the board. Hovering over a Quest in progress as your turn starts will no longer cause cards that provide progress toward completing it to lose class specific border colors. Replacing a Cursed Blade with a Cursed Blade will no longer remove the ‘cursed’ animation on the Hero portrait. Application of the Bolster buff will no longer be slightly delayed on an eligible minion that was played last onto a full board. Joust and other card reveal effects will now function correctly if your deck contains 60 cards. Tavern Brawl
Shiftcon: Minions with a Yellow glow will no longer retain it when they shift into a new minion. Tag Team: Resolved an issue that could cause the match to end prematurely when swapping Heroes. Decks Assemble: Resolved a crash that could occur when the turn ends while your opponent controls Jeeves. Mobile

Kobolds & Catacombs also has a launch trailer. And... it's... glorious!
Our Kobolds & Catacombs hub contains all 135 revealed cards and everything you need to know about the novelties of this expansion, such as the Dungeon Runs or the new Class Legendary Weapons. At the moment, our guide writers should be hard at work preparing new deck guides. We might even have guides for the Dungeon Runs. Lastly, our Arena tier lists are up-to-date.
At any case, you can track any updates in our Hearthstone changelog, but we'll probably make a news post about them. For now, you can read Aleco's excellent set review for Kobolds & Catacombs.
Good luck with your pack openings and feel free to share any amazingly good or bad openings you've had! Also, best of luck to those who'll brave the ladder or to those of you who choose to delve into the Dungeon Runs!
