Aleco 252 Report post Posted November 24, 2017 Mage's Spellstone card for hints at a potential Elemental theme for the class in the upcoming set. Mage's Spellstone was revealed today by Chinese Hearthstone streamer LvGe, hinting at a potential Elemental theme for the Mage class in K&C: Card image courtesy of Hearthpwn.com The upgraded versions of Ruby Spellstone will provide an additional random Mage Spell for every two Elementals you can play while this card is in your hand, meaning that this card is capable of becoming a two mana Cabalist's Tome! The lesser version of this spell isn't very enticing, but both of the upgraded versions of Ruby Spellstone seem like quite the deal. Unfortunately, the requirement to upgrade Ruby Spellstone is quite prohibitive and will likely hold this card back from seeing widespread play on the ladder. Let us know what you think about Ruby Spellstone in the comment section, and be sure to check out our Kobolds and Catacombs hub for more information on the upcoming set. VaraTreledees 138 Report post Posted November 24, 2017 Pretty much agree with what you said. Doubt it will be enough to make elemental mage good, but it will be in every elemental mage deck.
Shine 144 Report post Posted November 24, 2017 (edited) maybe if they bring out another cool mage elemental it would be more attractive. I generally dont like elemental builds though Edited November 24, 2017 by Shine
Caldyrvan 377 Report post Posted November 24, 2017 (edited) I am not really impressed by the card and wow another card with "random" effect. It only fits in an elemental deck which makes it ok, with another (any mage can use) upgrade it would be an auto include. But I never really like Cabalist's Tome. Too much random, ofc it's likely to get at least one spell you really want but then you could just draw it from your deck instead of losing tempo by playing a card to get it. If you happen to play a more elemental heavy deck this might be really good because usually you have to cut some spells/tools to make room for elementals. This could give you a nice way to get some extra stuff you had to cut. And if you really like to play ele mage, as a rare card, it's easy to get it out of a pack or still affordable to craft. Shine 144 Report post Posted November 24, 2017 Am I really the only one that sees alot of potential here with the mage quest. I dont know how elementals might fit in a mage quest deck but it seems a really strong synergy. How long until these quests even rotate out?

Actually, the mage quest will rotate in april 2019 as they said, but the base of the Exodia deck is rotating faster: cabalist tome and babbling book are rotating next year. I think that the next build of Exodia mage will be an elemental deck, as nowaday there exist at least 2 elemental that give you spell, and the Death Knight might become necessary if Ice Block will go to Hall of Fame...
