Thijs finds a brilliant way to regain board control with his Dragon Priest deck against Xixo's Big Spell Hunter at Seatstory Cup 8.

Welcome back to another episode of What's the Move! Today we'll be looking at a brilliant play made by Thijs at Seatstory Cup 8, where he found a creative way to regain board control with his Dragon Priest deck against Xixo's Big Spell Hunter:

Special thanks go out to reddit user /u/noowai, who brought this play to my attention in the comment thread for last week's episode. If you have a suggestion of your own for a future episode, please feel free to reach out to me here on Icy Veins or shoot me a message on Twitter @Aleco_P.

That, is actually a very cool and well thought out move.  I had talon priest + heal.  I am curious, Aleco, since this wasn't one of your games what would your move have been (ie did you come to the same conclusion thijs did when you first watched the clip or did you miss the correct play as well?)

By that logic you could also just have put down Talonpriest and then Divine Spirit the Priestess instead of the Talonpriest. That would have been a more serious bluff + Higher survival = higher chance of drawing cards later.

Less likely to bump the priest then, which is what he ultimately wanted.

Though I can't say for sure, I think I would have played Talonpriest + Healed. I don't think I would have had the gumption to commit the Divine Spirit to the board!

I felt the only way to make a ‘creative’ play had to involve the divine spirit, so I stared at talonpriest and divine spirit on the cleric for a while. Didn’t like it though, and moved towards talonpriest heal. Never considered spirit on the talonpriest, very nice play.

This week's Tavern Brawl is a great way to try out some of the new cards from The Witchwood.

Looking for a chance to try out some of the new cards from The Witchwood? This week's Brawl, titled "A Witchy Recipe", features preconstructed decks for each class which are built around some of the less-played cards from the new expansion, including many of the new Legendary minions from the set.
Here are the names of some of the new cards you can try for yourself in A Witchy Recipe:
Druid: Hand-size with Witchwood Apple, Ferocious Howl, and Wispering Woods. Hunter: Midrange Dragon/Poison with Carrion Drake, Vilebrood Skitterer, and Emeriss. Mage: Elemental Minions with Book of Specters, Archmage Arugal, and Bonfire Elemental. Paladin: Even Paladin with The Glass Knight and Genn Greymane. Note: If you're looking for a quick win, this deck feels like the most powerful of the bunch. Priest: Odd Priest with Chameleos, Glitter Moth, and Nightscale Matriarch. Rogue: Echo/Burgle with Pick Pocket, Tess Greymane, and Face Collector. Shaman: Battlecry Shaman with Blazing Invocation, Zap!, and Hagatha the Witch. Warrior: Rush with Darius Crowley, Town Crier, and Woodcutter's Axe. Warlock: Self-damage with Blood Witch, Deathweb Spider. and Glinda Crowskin. As usual, the reward for A Witchy Recipe is one pack of Classic.

The team has finally responded to the community's concerns on the new Shaman legendary minion.
Two weeks after The Witchwood's release, Team 5 has addressed the issues surrounding Shudderwock. Its animation will go faster and it will cap at 20 Battlecries. Hopefully, it will be less of a nuisance now. Lifedrinker will also receive a bump on its animation speed.
I assume the fix will go live on April 26 along with the Monster Hunt.
      Jesse Hill
Recently, our players have had feedback regarding the Shaman card, Shudderwock. We understand that the length of its Battlecry animation and other animations spawned from its Battlecry can be frustrating. In a future update, we will be doubling the animation speed of Shudderwock’s Battlecry so it will lessen the impact on the overall pacing of your current Hearthstone match. In addition, the amount of Battlecries Shudderwock can reproduce will be capped at 20.
We will also be speeding up the animation of Lifedrinker for similar reasons.
Thank you for your feedback, and we’ll see you in the Tavern.
      Cheers!

The rewards are different for each rank. You receive the chest for the best rank you achieve, so do not be afraid of dropping a rank. Additionally, after reaching a milestone rank (ranks in bold), you will not fall below them that season again. This means that if you lose a game at rank 15 with 0 stars, you will not drop to rank 16, but rather stay at rank 15 with no stars.
