Toki, Time-Tinker Reveal: The Witchwood

It was easy to assume that Standard mode would remain forever detached from Wild, but Toki begs to differ as she brings back some Wild Legendaries!

This Mage Legendary minion was revealed by IGN US:

As I already spoiled in my introduction, "Legendary minions from the past" means legendary minions that are exclusive to Wild - even if you are playing in Wild. Let's all rejoice in the fact that Casino Mage is back!! OK, jokes aside, this is a pretty slow card, you still need to play the Legendary minion you get and the randomness factor is a big downside. I think Rogue's Face Collector is better than Toki, although they are both weak.

Lastly, it should be mentioned that Toki is the Mage hero in the Monster Hunt (you can find more about it and all the other novelties The Witchwood is going to bring in our expansion hub).

Hmm...why do I get flashbacks of Dr. Boom axe his way through a door, yelling "here's Johnny"?

Anyways...funny, meme card. Nothing wrong with it. I got no problem with crappy legendaries, so I have to craft less of them.

If they do as they did in the last expansions there will 23 legends in total. Currently 16 revealed and none of them look very tempting. Maybe 2-4 will be any good. So the remaining 7 have to be at least good or I think I will not pre-purchase that set.

It's not looking better with the currently revealed epics.

But maybe I'm just dumb and can't see the big picture.

Personally I like the new cards.
Most of them seem not necessary or just bad.
The less overpowered the new cards are the less will be needed in a new deck.
The less dust is needed to craft a new Tier 1 deck.

And it means a less changing meta.

Well, rotation affects meta too. Also, the set remains in standard for the longest time so it’s probably not ideal for it to be an above average strength set. There’s some pretty interesting cards though I’d say.

This one is a good design imo. It’s random and fun and memey, and there should be some cards like that, but also very uncompetitive (as such cards should be).

If your assumption stands, this means we can get enough dust to craft important missing cards/legends from classic set or previous but still running expansions.

Not bad if you ask me!
