Game Improvements

We’ve further optimized Hearthstone's app size
It will be necessary to re-download app data, but Hearthstone will take up a lot less space now!

Reconnect Improvements – Players attempting to reconnect to matches should now have a smoother overall experience.

Reroll Legendary Quests – To give players more freedom over how they’ll be rewarded while playing Hearthstone, we have now added the ability to reroll legendary quests (Special event quests, Expansion launch quests, etc.) into standard daily quests.

Random Card Back Selector – Let the Innkeeper curate your card back collection. Select the Random card back for a deck, and a random card back from your Collection will be chosen each time you play.

Golden Heroes Now Count Arena Wins – Go for the gold in the Arena! We are updating the 500 Wins requirement for Golden Heroes to include Arena wins along with Ranked wins.

  • NOTE: This will only apply towards Arena wins earned after this update is live. Any past Arena wins will not count towards the 500 Wins total.

Complete My Deck – Hearthstone’s better at helping you build decks than ever before.

  • Helps you build established, proven decks using your collection.
  • If you’re short of an established deck, the helper will help you choose the strongest stand-alone cards from what you have available.

Fixed several issues that could cause User Interface elements to overlap.

  • Fixed an issue where Gral, the Shark’s effect could cause the eaten card to appear permanently on the gameboard.
  • Playing Gral, the Shark will no longer cause visual effects to display on incorrect parts of the board.
  • Gral, the Shark will now correctly gain the extra stats if the minion it eats was buffed in the deck.
  • Fixed a visual issue with the effects in Rastakhan’s portrait.
  • Nozdormu's visual effects will no longer persist after he is transformed.
  • The Boomsday! card back will no longer light up during the mulligan phase.
  • The lock icon for future overloaded mana crystals will no longer be erased after playing Mojomaster Zihi.
  • Fixed issue where Magnetic minions could incorrectly execute their end-of-turn effects additional times after being bounced and replayed.
  • Astromancer now correctly summons a minion immediately next to her instead of the far right of the board.
  • If Big Bad Voodoo's effect triggers on a minion that doesn't have any valid minions to evolve into, it will now summon a random minion of equal cost.
  • Fixed an issue where mulliganed cards would not be tracked as having started in your deck.
  • Kalimos' Invocation of Water's card text will no longer indicate that the effect will be doubled while Prophet Velen is in play.
  • Fixed an issue which could cause the Mass Disenchant menu to show an incorrect amount of cards and dust.
  • Fixed an issue where a person on your Friends list would show their last rank if they set themselves to appear offline instead of going offline.
  • Fixed an issue where Card Backs earned from completing a Heroic Adventure would not show up properly in the Collection Manager.
  • Returning players who had not previously completed the tutorial or a PvP match will now be included in the New Player Ranks.
  • Fixed an issue where players could sometimes get stuck on a loading screen if they tried to spectate a game that ends before they finish loading.
  • [Reconnect] Addressed an issue that could cause players who were attempting to reconnect to Arena matches to lose additional matches.
  • [Reconnect] Fixed an issue that could cause players who were attempting to reconnect to matches to become stuck in an infinite reconnect loop.
  • [Rumble Run] Choices from Branching Paths will no longer trigger twice with Pirate's Mark in play.
  • [Mobile] Fixed an issue that could cause some sound effects to fail to play even after all sound files had been downloaded.
  • [Mobile] Fixed an issue that could cause the text bubble for the adventure announcer to appear incorrectly sized.
  • [Fireside Gatherings] Fixed an issue that could cause missing and duplicate patrons in the friends list when connected to a Fireside Gathering.

So the prepurchase bundles actually have a ton of packs this time. That's good. The new cards so far certainly looks interesting too, so I'm definitely looking forward to this so far. Gotta save all that gold. :3

Polish YouTuber MKRR has revealed two new Rogue cards designed around the Combo mechanic: Hooked Scimitar and Whirlkick Master.

The latest card reveals from Saviors of Uldum have been posted by Polish YouTuber MKRR: Hooked Scimitar and Whirlkick Master!

Hooked Scimitar looks like a powerful weapon in any Rogue deck - finding activators for the Combo effect has never been problematic, and a 4/2 Weapon for 3 Mana is a very good deal. It will be interesting to see whether decks built around Raiding Party will favour this card over Waggle Pick, which is more expensive but has a potential upside through its Deathrattle.
Whirlkick Master is a little harder to evaluate. It's potentially a good little value factory, and it can start a chain of generated cards much the same way Lyra the Sunshard and Underbelly Angler can. 2 Mana 1/2s aren't great, but this might be one to keep an eye on.

GameSpot have revealed a new 1-Mana neutral Minion. It has a huge payoff for those who can complete its elaborate ritual.

GameSpot have revealed the latest card from Saviors of Uldum: Mogu Cultist!

It's an inauspicious 1 Mana 1/1 until you can complete its "ritual" by getting 7 copies on the board at once. Do that and you'll be rewarded with Highkeeper Ra, a huge threat which should seal your opponent out of the game, if not simply deal lethal damage on the spot. It's a similar challenge to that posed by the recently revealed Desert Obelisk, but more extreme in both payoff and difficulty.

It will take time to figure out how to achieve this condition. It could be fairly straightforward in Rogue with the use of Lab Recruiter and Togwaggle's Scheme, but will that be a better plan than simply spamming huge Pogo-Hoppers?
In other classes the options are less obvious. It might be possible in Priest, thanks to Mass Resurrection and a plethora of copy effects like Vivid Nightmare, but nothing immediately leaps out at us. Let us know if you can solve the puzzle in the comments below!
GameSpot also published an interview with Hearthstone designers Peter Whalen and Alec Dawson to accompany the card reveal, in which they do some light theory-crafting on the new card. Peter Whalen expanded on the fantasy behind it:

A new Mage card has been revealed by Brazilian YouTuber Nightmare.

A new card from Saviors of Uldum has been revealed by the Brazilian YouTuber Nightmare: Tortollan Pilgrim!

It's reminiscent of Tortollan Primalist, Grand Archivist and Spiteful Summoner. Like the latter two cards, it rewards you for building a minion-heavy deck with a few high-impact spells at the top of the curve.
If you've been pining for the return of Yogg-Saron, Hope's End, Tortollan Pilgrim might help scratch that itch in combination with Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron.

Other potentially powerful things to do with the card would be Flamestrike. Luna's Pocket Galaxy and Power of Creation. If you can play it on an empty board, it could even cast Conjurer's Calling on itself for two random 8-Drops. And as the card says "Copy", you'll still have the card in your deck available to draw into later, which wasn't the case with Grand Archivist.

Shaman gets a new Weapon for Totem decks in a spectacular Lego stop motion reveal video.

A new Shaman card has been revealed by the Taiwanese YouTuber and stop-motion animator Jordan Tseng: Splitting Axe!

The new weapon offers synergy with Totems, something we haven't seen Shaman doing much of lately. It could be powerful under the right circumstances, especially if you're able to copy a premium Totem such as Mana Tide Totem or Nightmare Amalgam, but it's not clear that it fits into any existing Shaman deck. Its purpose may become clearer as we see more new cards from the set.
The stop motion Lego reveal video is really spectacular, so do check out the whole thing. It was made in collaboration with Cid Hsiao, who is apparently an official Lego Ambassador - probably the coolest title you can have in 2019. Watch below:

Cloud Prince and Arcane Flakmage make a powerful case for the revival of the Secret Mage archetype.

Two new Mage cards have been shared on YouTube by the South Korean streamer and Hearthstone Grandmaster Flurry: Cloud Prince and Arcane Flakmage!

The last real reason to play Mage Secrets left when Arcanologist and the rest of Journey to Un'goro rotated out of Standard in April. These two cards offer extremely powerful payoffs for having some Secrets, so perhaps Secret Mage will be back with a vengeance.
Cloud Prince looks very much like Sunreaver Warmage's meaner big brother. It's important to note that its 6-damage Battlecry is able to go face, which isn't always the case with new cards. The extra burn damage option will make it right at home alongside Fireball and Frostbolt.
Arcane Flakmage dishes out a free Consecration whenever you play a Secret. Secret Mage will be a lot slower without its turn 1 Mana Wyrm, so this efficient board clear option should be a big help to it. It's a flexible card with three clear uses: stick it on turn 2 and follow up with a Secret on turn 3; combine it with a Secret on turn 5; or combine it with two Secrets on turn 8 for a massive swing turn.
Watch the full Korean reveal video below:
