Patch 8.2 Build 30669: Conflict & Strife Changes

Here's an overview of the latest changes to Conflict and Strife, the Essence which allows you to use one PvP talent in PvE.

Earlier today, we highlighted nerfs to the Vision of Perfection Essence. This article covers latest changes to the Conflict and Strife Essence from last week's 8.2 PTR Build 30613.

Conflict and Strife is a new Essence added in Patch 8.2 which allows the use of one predetermined Honor talent in PvE. In other words, you can pick three other Honor talents in PvP. Here's the second pass of balance changes that went live on 8.2 PTR this week.

  • BloodUnholy Command Unholy Command -  Your Death Grip has two charges.
  • FrostChill Streak Chill Streak Deals up to 6% of the target's total health in Frost damage and reduces their movement speed by 70% for 4 sec. Chill Streak bounces up to 9 times between closest targets within 6 yards. Deals [ 100% of Attack Power ] Frost damage to the target and reduces their movement speed by 70% for 4 sec. Chill Streak bounces up to 9 times between closest targets within 6 yards.
  • UnholyNecrotic Strike Necrotic Strike - A vicious strike that deals [ 30% of Attack Power ] Plague damage, and converts 1 Festering Wounds into a Necrotic Wound, absorbing up to 7% of the target's maximum health in healing recieved.

  • Arcane: Temporal Shield Temporal Shield - Envelops you in a temporal shield for until cancelled. 100% of all damage taken while shielded will be instantly restored when the shield ends.
  • FireTemporal Shield Temporal Shield - Envelops you in a temporal shield for until cancelled. 100% of all damage taken while shielded will be instantly restored when the shield ends.
  • FrostTemporal Shield Temporal Shield - Envelops you in a temporal shield for until cancelled. 100% of all damage taken while shielded will be instantly restored when the shield ends.

Assassination: Maneuverability Maneuverability - Sprint suppresses all movement-impairing effects for 4 sec when used.

Outlaw: Maneuverability Maneuverability - Sprint suppresses all movement-impairing effects for 4 sec when used.

Subtlety: Maneuverability Maneuverability - Sprint suppresses all movement-impairing effects for 4 sec when used.

  • HavocDemonic Origins Demonic Origins - The cooldown of Metamorphosis is reduced by 2 min, but now lasts 15 sec.
  • VengeanceCleansed by Flame Cleansed by Flame - Immolation Aura dispels all magical effects on you when cast.

  • BrewmasterHot Trub Hot Trub - Purifying Brew deals 30% of your purified staggered damage to all enemies within 10 yards.
  • MistweaverWay of the Crane Way of the Crane - Increases your Physical damage by 25%, you remove and become immune to all snare and root effects and you heal up to 3 nearest allies for 150% of all damage done. Lasts 15 sec.
  • WindwalkerReverse Harm Reverse Harm - Heals a friendly target for 8% of their maximum health, and causes 100% of the amount healed to instantly be dealt to the nearest enemy as Nature damage within 5 yards.

  • ElementalLightning Lasso Lightning Lasso - Grips the target in lightning, stunning the target and dealing O2% of the target's maximum health in Nature damage over 5 sec. Can move while channeling.
  • Enhancement: Thundercharge Thundercharge - You call down bolts of lightning, charging you and your target's weapons. The cooldown recovery rate of all abilities is increased by 30% for 10 sec.
  • RestorationAncestral Gift Ancestral Gift - You become immune to Silence and Interrupt effects for 5 sec after using Spiritwalker's Grace.

  • Balance: Thorns Thorns - Sprout thorns for 12 sec on the friendly target. When victim to melee attacks, thorns deals up to 5% of the attackers total health in Nature damage. Attackers also have their movement speed reduced by 50% for 4 sec.
  • Feral: Thorns Thorns - Sprout thorns for 12 sec on the friendly target. When victim to melee attacks, thorns deals up to 5% of the attackers total health in Nature damage. Attackers also have their movement speed reduced by 50% for 4 sec.
  • GuardianSharpened Claws Sharpened Claws - Maul increases the damage done by your Swipe and Thrash by 25% for 6 sec.
  • RestorationOvergrowth Overgrowth - Instantly applies Lifebloom, Rejuvenation, Wild Growth, and Regrowth's heal over time effect to the target.

  • HolyDivine Favor Divine Favor - Your next Holy Light or Flash of Light is increased by 100%, costs no mana and is unable to be interrupted.
  • ProtectionSteed of Glory Steed of Glory - Your Divine Steed lasts for an additional 2 sec. While active you become immune to movement impairing effects, and you knock back enemies that you move through.
  • RetributionUnbound Freedom Unbound Freedom Blessing of Freedom also increases movement speed by 30%. Blessing of Freedom increases movement speed by 30%, and you gain Blessing of Freedom when cast on a friendly target. Unbound Freedom also causes any Blessing of Freedom applied to yourself to be undispellable.

  • AfflictionEndless Affliction Endless Affliction - Your Unstable Affliction deals the same damage as normal, but its duration is increased by 6 sec. Your Unstable Affliction remains dormant on the target for 10 sec after it expires, increasing your damage dealt to the target by 10%. If dispelled, Endless Affliction deals [ 58% of Spell Power ] damage to the dispeller and silences them for 4 sec.
  • DemonologyNether Ward Nether Ward - Surrounds the caster with a shield that lasts 3 sec, reflecting all harmful spells cast on you.
  • DestructionDemon Armor Demon Armor - Protects the caster, increasing maximum health by 10% and increases armor by 150%.

  • Beast Mastery: Hi-Explosive Trap Hi-Explosive Trap -  Hurls a fire trap to the target location that explodes when an enemy approaches, causing 60 Fire damage and knocking all enemies away. Trap will exist for 60 sec.
  • MarksmanshipHi-Explosive Trap Hi-Explosive Trap -  Hurls a fire trap to the target location that explodes when an enemy approaches, causing 60 Fire damage and knocking all enemies away. Trap will exist for 60 sec.
  • SurvivalHi-Explosive Trap Hi-Explosive Trap -  Hurls a fire trap to the target location that explodes when an enemy approaches, causing 60 Fire damage and knocking all enemies away. Trap will exist for 60 sec.

  • DisciplinePremonition Premonition - Heals nearby targets within 20 yards for [ 75% of Spell Power ], and applies Atonement to yourself. Deals [ PS * BC1 ] Shadow damage to yourself for each Atonement you have active, and increases their duration by [ 5 + 0.1% of Spell Power ] sec.
  • HolyHoly Ward Holy Ward -  Wards the friendly target against the next full loss of control effect.
  • ShadowVoid Origins Void Origins - Void Eruption is now instant cast.

  • ArmsSharpen Blade Sharpen Blade - When activated, your next Mortal Strike will deal 15% increased damage and reduce healing taken by 50% for 6 sec.
  • FuryBattle Trance Battle Trance - You go into a trance causing you to regenerate 3% of your health and generate 5 Rage every 3 sec for 18 sec after using Raging Blow twice in a row on a target. Using Raging Blow on a new target will cancel this effect.
  • ProtectionThunderstruck Thunderstruck - Thunder Clap roots all targets for 1 sec.

Giving Retribution Paladins a extra movement ability with this talent seems decent. Prob alot thats going to take this for certain bosses where movement is crucial

I don't think anyone will take it, these are for pvp mostly, it's just usable for pve too, but not anywhere near the best option ( it wasn't evan the purpose).

Ele shammy: % dmg based damage, hell yeah, gonna rek those huge HP pools!
Retri pally: oh, BoF is undispelable now, cause I get dispelled so much in... PVE.

% damage has a cap .... on pve enemys it will be useless.

IT'S NOT FOR PVE!!!!

All % health damage is capped at the caster’s maximum health for PvE.  E.g. if you have 230,000 HP, the most that spell would do is 46,000 damage over 5 seconds (assuming “O2%” in the post meant 20%).

      The US premiere of the Warcraft movie was last weekend and I was given the opportunity to attend! Check out my full breakdown of the movie and the story, as well as highlights of the event!

      We're again highlighting PvP changes Blizzard announced recently that will go live after this week's maintenance in all regions.
      PvP Tuning (source)
      We’re working on a new set of PvP tuning changes that will be applied to the game with weekly maintenance in each region (January 26 in this region). Here’s what we’re currently testing:
      Player vs. Player
      Players now deal 20% less damage to Death Knight, Hunter, and Warlock pets. In 2v2 Arenas, Dampening will begin at 20% when both teams have either a tank or healer. Druid
      Convoke the Spirits no longer casts Full Moon and Feral Frenzy when engaged in combat with enemy players. Mage
      Triune Ward (legendary) now provides 50% effective barriers (was 65%) in PvP situations.** Fire Infernal Cascade (conduit) effectiveness reduced by 33% in PvP situations. Paladin
      Holy Divine Favor (Honor Talent) cooldown increased to 30 seconds (was 25 seconds), and now increases cast speed by 30% (was 60%). Protection, Retribution Word of Glory’s healing has been reduced by 20% in PVP situations.

      It's time to take a brisk stroll through some zones and cities of WoW in VR! The VR Chat game actually has some WoW maps inside you can run through, and Press start to begin did exactly that in the video below!
      Unfortunately you can't actually play the game properly, as there are no mobs abilities etc, just the maps available, but we do get a look at Orgrimmar, Shattrah, the Crossroads, Undercity, Dalaran and Stormwind.

      You still have almost two days to finish the Timewalking version of the Firelands raid, and here is a list of all the interesting trinkets that drop there.
      All the loot from the raid has Item Level 200.
