Easy and Cheap Eridium for Legendaries Method

Recommended Posts

SMkLJCZ.jpg

While legendaries aren't exactly hard to come by in Borderlands 3's endgame, some players may still be looking for an easier method that doesn't involve... well, playing the game basically. Glitching Queen showcased this method a few days ago and it centers around the Gun Gun aka Eridian Fabricator you get around the end of the game (but there's a twist). The exchange rate is around 30-50 eridium per legendary, which is pretty damn cheap.

Many players and streamers have been spamming this thing with thousands and thousands of eridium and getting no legendaries whatsoever, but the trick is that it has to be Typhon using it. Basically you have to progress the story until you meet the first vault hunter and he shows you the eridian machine, at which point you can pay him 1 eridium for him to spawn a random gun for you using the Gun Gun.

And that's pretty much it. Every 30-50 times he'll spawn a legendary and you got yourself a farm method!

Personally I don't really need or want a method for legendaries, as there's way too many of them dropping all over the place already (especially in Circles of Slaughter), and a slower pace at which to discover them would be preferable. But if you've been unlucky or are still playing through normal mode and just want to check some of these out, why not try to get some this way.

The best thing is that it is basically a waste of time to do this because the game is so easily farmable / has a progression akin or even faster than Diablo 3's. So optimal really does not have to get in the way of fun here 🙂

Some people really do prefer standing in front of an npc and spamming a button for hours to get their rewards (just made fun of my coop buddy for this the other day 😄 ).

The 10th anniversary celebration continues with the Eridium-themed event tomorrow, with the purple currency dropping from all enemies for a week, even more of it will drop on Mayhem and, most importantly of all, cosmetics will be discounted at Crazy Earl's shop and the Eridium slot machine will be cheaper to use as well!

This also means that the rare spawn event, which has proven to be quite popular as players farm for a lot of artifacts, grenades, class mods etc, is only around for another day and a half, so get to farming if you still need that perfect roll on one of the many drops (like the annointed Psycho Stabber I'm going to need to get for my Amara build).

The Eridium event starts tomorrow around midnight and lasts until next Tuesday, when a Twitch-themed one will begin, with the week after that presumably being when we get the first free DLC for the game, or perhaps a warm-up event that will lead into it.
      Show Me the Eridium (source)
We're continuing to celebrate Borderlands' 10-year anniversary with another week of in-game bonuses for Borderlands 3. This week is Show Me the Eridium!
The first thing to know about Crazy Earl—besides the fact that he's completely off his rocker—is that he prizes the ancient purple element known as Eridium over all else. During this week's Borderlands Anniversary Celebration event, entitled Show Me the Eridium, you can make Crazy Earl envious of your Eridium reserves once the strange ore starts popping up all over the place. And if you don't feel like hoarding all that precious Eridium to yourself, Crazy Earl style, he'll gladly trade you for cosmetic items and Anointed weapons in exchange for your stash.

The Show Me the Eridium event will begin courtesy of a quick micropatch deploying by or before 3:00 PM PDT on Tuesday, October 15. You'll receive an in-game notification if you're playing while the micropatch goes live; to ensure that the micropatch is successfully applied, verify that you're online then hang around the main menu for a minute or two. For the duration of this event, there will be Eridium drops added to standard enemies, increased Eridium drops in Mayhem Mode, discounted Eridium costs to use Moxxi's Vault Line slot machine, and a discount on all the coveted items at Crazy Earl's hideout in the Cargo Bay of Sanctuary III.
In case you haven't done business with Crazy Earl before, he's the only vendor who deals in Eridium, the special currency earned exclusively through gameplay. Provided you're packing enough Eridium shards, he'll sell you all kinds of cosmetic items big and small: Vault Hunter Heads and Skins, Emotes, ECHO themes, Trinkets, Weapon Skins, and Room Decorations. Next to his little bunker, you'll find his custom-built Veteran Rewards vending machine, which takes Eridium in exchange for Anointed weapons. Anointed gear is powerful thanks to its ability to improve Action Skills in ways that may or may not be specific to one Vault Hunter.
Show Me the Eridium will run from October 15 to October 22 when the next week's theme begins. The Borderlands Anniversary Celebration calendar is below—and if you want to know what this month of Borderlands 3 bonuses is all about, you can catch up here.

Week 3 (October 15-22): Show Me the Eridium!
Week 4 (October 22-29): Mayhem on Twitch!
      Week 5 (October 29 - November 4): Spooky Surprise!
This week is the ideal time to collect Borderlands 3's wide assortment of cosmetics, giving your Vault Hunter everything they need to positively slay when it comes to fashion and flair. Those Anointed weapons will also provide a nice boost in power—and if you somehow amass more Eridium than you know what to do with, show off how big of a baller you are by firing weapons from the Eridian Fabricator with reckless abandon.

Today's set of hotfixes addresses several bugs with Vault Hunter skills, and a whole lot of weaker legendaries got buffed, with even more buffs to come! We also got some overall weapon tuning, with sniper scopes  and some annointed affixes getting tweaked.

As for the Vault Hunter changes specifically, Moze's Bloodletter class mod gets nerfed, her Means of Destruction (grenade and heavy regen) and Fl4k's Leave No Trace (ammo regen) have been re-buffed after the previous nerf and Amara and Zane get some skill fixes and buffs.
      October 10 (source)
This week's Borderlands 3 hotfixes, which will be live on all platforms by or before 3:00 PM PDT today, address some player character passive abilities, gear balance, and some quality-of-life issues across the game. We're watching the character builds that players are creating and are looking through all the different gear available to make sure that there is something for everyone. This week, and in the coming weeks, there will be further adjustments to gear with the hopes of creating even more build types. Our goal is to adjust some of the less-used Legendary gear to bring them to the same level as some of the more popular options.
In addition, we are addressing reported bugs and are hard at work continuing to address other performance concerns. Thank you so much for your feedback and support. Please continue to submit any bugs you run into at support.2k.com.
      Vault Hunter Adjustments
      Amara
We addressed a concern that Alacrity was only rewarding players one point worth of bonuses even if the player put in more than one point. In addition, we wanted Phasegrasp to be more accessible to all weapon types and play styles, so we doubled the range to grasp an enemy.
Putting points into Alacrity now awards a reload speed bonus per rank Phasegrasp can now be used on targets further away and the cooldown is now instantly returned if a player misses Moze
The Bloodletter class mod was creating some overwhelming synergies for Moze so we increased the delay and decreased the recharge rate of the shield to compensate.  This should help encourage the intended use of this class mod, which is to heal shields manually, not automatically. Means of Destruction’s re-trigger delay was adjusted again because the change limited other builds beyond creating infinite grenades. The infinite grenade bug will be addressed in a future patch but we wanted to enable other builds that use Means of Destruction so we dramatically reduced the re-trigger delay to a reasonable number.
      Bloodletter Class Mod
      - Increased the Recharge Delay by 150%
      - Reduced the Recharge Rate by 50% Addressed a reported bug with Close the Distance so the Action Skill Augment will now deal the intended Shock Damage Means of Destruction now has a re-trigger delay of 0.3 seconds FL4K
The Leave No Trace change last week to FL4K was to forcefully inject the functionality of a cooldown into the ability. However, the value that was added was never the intended the value. We dramatically lowered it to retain the promise of the ability but with a cooldown that still allows players to gain ammo without dramatically removing a core aspect of a weapon’s gameplay loop.
Leave No Trace now has a re-trigger delay set to 0.3 seconds Zane
Death Follows Close will correctly update several Kill Skills after unlocking this ability Weapon Hotfixes
The Lob's projectile tick damage is now 60% of base damage (up from 20%) and projectile speed decelerates faster to increase chances of hitting the same target multiple times Creeping Death damage increased by 200% Carrier damage increased by 60% Gunerang damage increased by 20% All Sniper Rifle Zoom Levels have been slightly reduced Long scopes on Jakobs, Children of the Vault, and DAHL Assault Rifles have also been slightly reduced Anointed Parts:
      - When Zane swaps positions with his Digi-Clone, the damage gained is increased to 130% (up from 75%)
      - When FL4K hits a target with Rakks, the target now takes 100% increased damage (up from 50%)
      - The Anointed part "Increased damage vs Badasses" no longer heals the player and now correctly adds bonus damage to Badass enemies Bug Fixes
Pain, Terror, and Agonizer 9000 have been adjusted to have an increased chance to drop higher quality loot Addressed a reported bug with Dynasty Diner that could potentially halt mission progress for some players Addressed a reported concern that some players fell through the floors in various boss arenas Modified enemy spawn level discrepancies reported in the later parts of the campaign We noticed that some enemies were spawning at lower levels than expected in the later parts of the campaign. Players should no longer see enemies that are dramatically lower levels than other nearby enemies in certain areas.
As a reminder, the current weekly event is the rare spawn hunt, with all the rares appearing pretty much 100% of the time and having a significantly increased drop rate for their legendaries, including some that have been buffed today - and we have all their locations right here.

Here's a very handy set of images by a redditor whose name wouldn't be appropriate to post, marking all the rare mobs included in this week's anniversary Rare Spawn Hunt, which starts in half an hour (18:00 CEST)! Also don't forget, we're not sure if all of the mobs listed below have a 100% spawn rate, but some certainly do, as Gearbox' wording on the matter was unclear, so don't get disheartened if you don't find them at the marked locations immediately.

You can also check out their loot here to see which ones are worth going after:
Rakkman – Night Flyer, Legendary Pistol El Dragon Jr – Unleash the Dragon, Legendary Artifact Road Dog – Redline, Legendary Shotgun IndoTyrant – Random Customization Force Troopers – Random Legendary class mods Demoskaggon – Random Legendary Shield The Unstoppable – Band of Sytorak, Legendary Shield Thunk & Sloth – It's pi**, Legendary Grenade Mod Maxitrillion – The Horizon, Legendary Shotgun Borman Nates – Psycho Stabber, Legendary Pistol Princess Tarantella II – Hive, Legendary Rocket Launcher Mother of Grogans – Random Legendary Artifacts Red Jabber – Random Legendary Grenade Mod Urist McEnforcer – Masterwork Crossbow, Legendary Sniper Rifle   Here's a few to get you started, and head on over to the imgur gallery for all the locations!             Source: r/Borderlands3.

The second week of events for the 10 year anniversary of the Borderlands franchise is arriving today/tomorrow (depending on your time zone) aka Tuesday at 9:00 AM PDT/6Pm CEST, and it's the Rare Spawn Hunt! We get to see a lot more of the stealthy creatures of Pandora and other planets, as the rare mobs will be much less so and their unique legendary loot will also be more frequent!
Check out all the rare spawns involved and exactly what they drop below:

We're continuing to celebrate Borderlands' 10-year anniversary with another week of in-game bonuses for Borderlands 3! This week is the Rare Spawn Hunt.
If you've explored the untamed wilds and urban hideouts of Borderlands 3, you've likely found (and killed) a Rare Spawn. These named enemies are lurking around the many corners of the galaxy, and will sometimes show up on bounty boards wanted dead or… actually, just dead. But for the second week of our month-long Borderlands Anniversary Celebration, those Rare Spawns are about to be a lot less rare.
Starting tomorrow, October 8 at 9:00 AM PDT, the Rare Spawn Hunt will begin courtesy of a quick micropatch. To ensure that the micropatch is successfully applied, verify that you're online then hang around the main menu for about a little bit. During the Rare Spawn Hunt, some Rare Spawns are guaranteed to show up in their designated locations and have an increased chance to drop unique Legendary loot. It's your chance to seek and destroy enemies you might've never known existed, or snag the unique Legendary weapons and gear you've been chasing after. Here comes the next big batch of fixes for Borderlands 3, arriving later today, as we get the fix for the Hollow Point Guardian rank as it will be re-eneabled and not hurt allies anymore, the bank bug also gets a fix, there's some significant Vault Hunter tuning, as well as boss tweaks.
Fl4k gets a buff to Rakk Attack, a nerf to ammo generation in Fade Away, a doubling of the stat bonus from Barbaric Yawp as well as improvements to pet quality of life. Moze gets her infinite grenade build nerfed by adding a re-trigger delay to Means of Destruction. Somewhat shockingly three bosses have had their difficulty lowered, as Gigamind, Katagawa Ball, and Billy the Anointed get health and shield reductions. There's also a whole bunch of smaller tweaks and bug fixes, so check out the full list below.
      October 3 (source)
Today we’ll release both a patch and a hotfix for Borderlands 3 on all platforms by or before 3:00 PM PDT, with the patch addressing a number of reported concerns and the hotfix focusing on player character balance changes and tuning of some enemies and bosses.
First up are the patch notes:
      Stability
Addressed a reported issue where an infinite loop could occur when hitting the Guardian Rank experience ceiling General Fixes and Improvements
The Hollow Point Guardian Rank skill no longer damages allies Hollow Point Guardian Rank skill has been re-enabled Addressed a reported issue where some players were unable to unlock the Ultimate Vault Hunter achievement on Xbox Addressed a reported issue where mouse functionality may have been lost when hot joining a friend’s session on PC Addressed a reported issue where some players’ inventory would not be saved in their bank This week’s Borderlands 3 hotfixes, which will be live on all platforms by or before 3:00 PM PDT today, contain some player character balance changes and address some player reported concerns regarding enemy behavior.
Our goal is to make sure all three Action Skills for each Vault Hunter are viable, but we have noticed some skills have been outperforming others. To encourage more build diversity, we made some adjustments to FL4K and Moze this week.
We also looked at a few boss fights and made balance changes to make their combats more enjoyable. Finally, we went over some enemy behaviors that could have affected mission progression and adjusted some attacks to happen with more frequency.
      Vault Hunter Adjustments
      FL4K
Rakk Attack! is great for constant damage output, especially when paired with Anointed gear. The base skill still seems to be lacking, so Rakk Attack! now has a guaranteed status effect on any enemy that it damages. Leave No Trace was returning much more ammo than intended, and we have added a re-trigger delay to keep its ammo return within expectation. Barbaric Yawp has an increased bonus, as we didn’t feel that the amount of investment had an equal payoff. In addition, we felt that FL4K’s pets were demanding too much attention, which was interfering with players trying to stand still for any length of time, so we disabled the ability for them to move you around.
Rakk Attack! status effect chance as been increased to 100%. Leave No Trace now has a re-trigger delay of 2 seconds Barbaric Yawp stat bonus increased by 100% Pets no longer push around player characters “Touch Pet” prompt is now a lower priority and should no longer interfere with looting or vending machines Moze
Infinite Grenades is not an intentional build for Moze—even if it is hilarious. To lower the power (and spam) of this build, a re-trigger delay has been added to the grenade portion of Means of Destruction.
Means of Destruction now has a re-trigger delay of 2 seconds Miscellaneous Changes
Adjusted the balance of Gigamind, Katagawa Ball, and Billy the Anointed These three boss fights had concerns with their health and shields that made their combat loops more difficult than we intended. Gigamind had a little too much health, so that was reduced slightly. Katagawa Ball will no longer regenerate its shields; we found that while players contended with the adds during the fight, it would unfairly regenerate its shield, negating the players’ progress. Finally, Billy had 25% of his health removed; we agree that this fight often dragged on needlessly. We will be monitoring each of these bosses and may make further adjustments in the future.
Bloated Rakks no longer spawn so many Rakklesnakes This change should make the Cistern of Slaughter in particular much more fun.
Adjusted the cooldown values when they are displayed for Zane’s skills Amara’s Glamour will now turn enemies on each other, as described in the Action Skill Modified the loot spawn for Sera of Supremacy Spiderant Emperors occasionally wouldn’t drill back out of the ground, which created a potential progression blocker in the Proving Ground of Survival; we have adjusted this and the issue has been addressed Resolved an issue that could have prevented enemies from spawning while in Devil’s Razor Lavender Crawly’s physics were adjusted to prevent them exiting the world like a popped balloon Further safe guarded Apollo from being launched out of world as well The Rampager will no longer enter an idle at state at inappropriate times Saurian Slingers attacks were addressed Guardians now use all their attacks in Playthrough 2 Guardian Wraiths now reliably use all their ranged attacks NPCs in the Slaughter maps were reported to sometimes attempt to automatically revive players in the arena. Going forward they will no longer attempt to revive players Minimized the glow effect when opening Eridian ammo chests, can more easily see the ammo inside when opened
