Alrighty!

Does anyone have a challenge mode set collected for Blood DK?

Thought I'd ask what people are rolling with before starting to find out piece by piece :P

Follow up.

Does the CD reduction on Vial of Living Corruption work in challenge modes?

I've been trying to google this stuff, but no luck so far, so any input is highly appreciated. :)

I haven't done a challenge mode in a while, but Vial scales with ilvl, so I'm fairly certain it would be nerfed into oblivion in challenge modes.

BiS is pretty much any piece with the most sockets you can get in that slot: chest and legs with 3 sockets, shoulders with 2 sockets, rings with 1 socket, etc.

I haven't tried an avoidance build, and I'm not sure if other DK's are using it, but mastery would most likely be best. the goal in challenge modes is to be able to survive large trash pulls because the difference between gold and server first gold is in how fast you can clear trash.

Simple gold is what I'm aiming for, so realm tops aren't that much of a concern :D

Yeah, I've ran into the importance of sockets. Another thing being that hitcaps remain so high ilvl hit pieces for those would be nice.

I know most legendaries don't work in challenges, but I'm not 100% on the cape. The proc probably won't work, but I would assume its still a good choice stats wise plus it has a socket. Could someone confirm this?

That is what I have been reading in many of the guides too. The cloak proc and LMG proc doesn't work, but the stats on the cloak are well itemized that it should be worth keeping it on.

About the hit cap, I thought similar to what happens in proving grounds, if you are hit / exp capped outside, you should be hit / exp capped inside too. Is this not true for challenge modes?

Your hit/exp caps remain the same, but they shift around your other secondaries to compensate. The Vial, IIRC, is about 1% damage as healing at 463 ilvl. Keep in mind you'll also be doing significantly less damage as well. That said, I've been using it for CMs on my bear and it's been fine, though I really don't have any other trinkets on that toon.

Well, as was mentioned earlier, you'd want the gear with most gem slots and a hell ton of mastery, hit and exp. Get 7,5 hit and exp then run full mastery following that.

Also, i'd like to mention, earlier someone said get shoulders with 2 gem slots, there's actually a 3 gem slot shoulder dropping from garrosh norm / hc, which would be slightly better for challange mode.

Yeah, I've been eyeing those Garrosh shoulders, but I'm prepared to go with a 2slot version since I've yet to see those drop. :D

I've only seen them drop once, and at a point where we had no plate users in our grp at that time since we normally only got 2 tanks which uses plate(warr and dk) and due to vacation we had to drop down to using someone else in the guild and went With 2 none plate users for that week =D Talk about that RNG ehh?

Eh, I wouldn't even call it RNG. Those shoulders have the lowest droprate of anything on his loot table. You should basically never expect to get them :P

Hi, Im having shoulders with 925 ilevel, mastery and verstality, but also I do have shoulders 915 ilevel, haste and avoidance.

Whats better, lower item level but with best stats (haste/avoidance), or higher item level but with mastery and versa ??

In overall, is it better to aim for "best" stats or just push item level first?

All applications will be reviewed and considered however if you are playing a class/spec combination we need then your chances of joining will be higher.
A little bit of info about us:
We are a group of friends and serious raiders on EU Twisting Nether looking to recruit skilled like-minded players into our roster for Mythic Legion raids and onwards. We will offer a sociable and fun raiding environment while maintaining a strong desire for progression. Our Discord is very active and we encourage all members to chat and play together not only for raids. The guild formed late March 2016 and fully cleared 13/13 Mythic Hellfire Citadel pre nerf shortly after. We've since been improving our world ranking every tier.
We currently raid 3 days per week on Mythic: Wednesday, Sunday and Tuesday 19:15-22:15 server time. While it is not a lot we try to make the most out of our time. We run optional heroic/normal/alt/previous tier raids during off days in which raiders are welcome to come to. Our members also play other games outside raid times together where anyone is welcome to join(LoL, PUBG, HotS, Overwatch etc.).
Our loot system for Mythic is RC Loot Council.
      What we expect from you:
      - We are a raiding guild with only a 9 hour per week schedule so you are expected to attend and be ON TIME! However we understand things can come up sometimes but please let us know.
      - Be able to speak and understand the English language and not be afraid to communicate with other members during raids.
      - Actively doing dungeons/world quests to improve your gear and artifact weapon.
      - Have a strong understanding of the current raid tier and be able to play your class to it's potential.
      - Always come to raids prepared(i.e. bringing food and potions, etc).
      - Come fully gemmed and enchanted with the correct stats for your class and spec.
      - Access to Discord and a working microphone.
      - Have a computer that can handle 20 man raiding and a good, stable internet connection.
      - Exorsus Raid Tools, Weakauras2 and RC Loot Council addons installed. We may ask you to install others.
If you have any further questions please contact us at battletags:
      Stjern#2802 or Azkey#21565
To apply please visit our guild website: http://asylum-tn.enjin.com/recruitment

So, I'm currently maining Blood DK and that's the spec that I've gotten my 4 legends on. I do occasionally use UH and was wondering which of my legends would be most effective for it. Just a foreword, all of the gear that the legends replace is about equal; all 915-920 and don't cause any major stat changes so its not like using one legend over another causes me to use a bad piece. I have Soul of the Deathlord, which is the one I use most on UH, and I have  Shackles of Bryndaor, Archimonde's Hatred Reborn, and Prydaz, Xavaric's Magnum Opus. Does the Shackles passive work on UH, if so, could that be a better boost for Val'kyr[Dark Arbiter Talent] (b/c you can cycle more RP)? Other than that I'm just wondering which out weighs the other, STR or the secondaries?
Edit: and just in case it makes a difference, my talent build is; http://www.wowhead.com/talent-calc/death-knight/unholy/c75z

I figured I'd do a Part 2 of this since I've managed to move from having never tanked before to now I can't get enough of it.
I've noticed a few things and wanted as much input as I can get. What has struck me so far is the lack of healers running PUGs at the lvl 60-ish area. It takes forever to get a PUG group together and I haven't been able to keep a healer with us more than 1 run through. I've made some DPS friends through PUGs which is pretty cool, but what is up with the healers???
The second thing is how my damage relates to a few other classes at about the same level. I'm currently lvl 67. I'm able to hold aggro nearly most of the time. I have some PUG members than have a pet with taunt or something but for the most part I am good to go. What I will see are Death Knights and some Warlock/Mages that seem to be doing crazy damage while only being a level or 2 higher than I am. Is that normal or am I undergeared? I haven't quite downloaded a damage meter just yet but from watching the health bar on the enemies I've noticed that those 2 can do some big damage by themselves! So is it a gear issue with me, is it just the nature of their class at that level or are they over-geared with extra goodies figuring their main has helped pay for their current state of their equipment? And with that, any recommendations or just hang in there until I get much higher level when better equipment appears? I have Heirloom for my chest, back, shoulders, weapon and trinkets. I haven't really found any quest gear or dungeon drops that is better that what I have now.
I can't say Thank You enough to everybody that posted advice and encouragement in my first thread. It was very helpful and I've taken a lot of it to heart and put it to work. I have had so much fun doing this...as like most things in life you are leery of...once you try it you only regret NOT doing it sooner.
