The Impressive Influence (100% Reputation Buff) Will Not Be Extended

Recommended Posts

49639-will-the-100-reputation-buff-get-e

On Wednesday, we speculated whether or not Blizzard decides to extend the 100% reputation buff, which is currently set to last through May 18. Unfortunately, Game Director Ion Hazzikostas confirmed in a recent WoWChakra interview that there are no plans to do so, and the buff is going away, contrary to the double XP buff that got extended until Shadowlands pre-patch.

The Impressive InfluenceImpressive Influence buff is going away on May 18, which is bad news for all alt aficionados, because of how well it synergizes with Winds of WisdomWinds of Wisdom.

Ion said that more buffs are planned for the near future, and some may be related to Wrathion's Legendary Cloak and the Corruption system catch-up for alts. For more details, check out the interview recap from yesterday.

May 18 is around the corner, so expect more information soon™!

Well let's tell it truly. It was a brilliant move my blizzard to make up for their heavy handed play our way philosophy which has been in place for year-. Removing it will alienate players, get them to hate Blizz and incentivise them to quit WoW. Sounds like an allaround win for Blizzard.

Special events like this are pretty common in most other MMOs -- I'm happy Blizzard is doing more of them and surprised they waited this long.

I know it may be a ways off but  you can always look forward to the pre-patch events that will start to lead us into Shadowlands.

You should probably rethink your "pointing the finger blame game philosophy." That's a pretty unhealthy mentality to stand by, considering the company didn't have to do any of these 'event's' for the Player base at all to begin with.

Meh, considering the fact that the world quests give a crap amount to begin with, 100% increase is not much at all

Put in Tabards that give xp per kill in dungeons...much more better than this stupid event.

I'm sorry but, you're completely wrong and this event was not stupid. This event was great and should last the same as the xp. No, you don't get a crap ton rep from the wqs, what are you on about? 100% increase is great, awesome for most of us and I'm sure most of us have really enjoyed it. You didn't like it, that's fine, stupid it was not.

Still think its silly, i mean i am just going to wait until the expansion comes out, then i get all the allied races without the need to grind the stupid reputation.

well, like it or not, but in old times there were way more boring ways to get reputation with a much harder grind and actually no additional rewards as the reputation itself and then that what gets unlocked with it.

now we get at least gear, which scales up quite a bit so a very good way to get alts going, or even if you don't need it to scrap for some mats and expulsom. or you get recipe ranks.or raw gold ( if you sum it up it's a decent amount for anyone not into farming or playing the AH)

and there's much more tied to rep as just allied races: essences ( at least for those not having them unlocked from another char), profession recipe ranks, flying ( if not yet unlocked) , some mounts/pets/toys etc

and you can be sure of that SL will have also rep grind....like all other expansions, like most other MMOs in one way or another....

Restodroodopz found out that Legendaries now classify as Legacy in Shadowlands Alpha, and so their bonuses are disabled and won't work for low level characters or in Timewalking anymore.

The Legion Legendary Sephuz's Secret is labelled as a Legacy item with inactive effects.

The Sentinel's Eternal Refuge (BoE crafted Legion Legendary) is also marked as a Legacy item, rendering them pretty much useless.
We did some research and checked out Wrathion's cloak (Ashjra'kamas, Shroud of Resolve Rank 12) with the primary stat increasing effect which remains untouched, so the Legacy thing only seems to apply to Legion Legendaries.

The same goes for Legendaries from previous expansions, specifically MoP legendary cloaks and WoD rings; they are not tagged as Legacy Items and keep their effects.

Blizzard has updated the character creation screen, making newly-created characters wear fancier, better-looking armor, to give players an idea about how their class would look wearing an armor set.
The Demon Hunter, Druid, and Shaman set remains unchanged (thanks @Dejo93), so we're listing the remaining classes that have received new armor sets for preview. Note that the sets are there just for preview and they're not actual starter sets!

      Hunter

      Mage

      Monk

      Paladin

      Priest

      Rogue

We have one of the biggest Torghast updates since Alpha launched today, as all classes are now available and have anima powers, Torments have been revamped to be additional challenges instead of a timer, and a lot more Anima power tweaks, bug fixes etc.
      June 3 (source)
All classes now have Anima Powers and can venture into Torghast.
Many classes have received new Anima Powers that affect their Covenant Class abilities.
      Torment Update!
Torments no longer scale with time.
Torments are now additional challenges based on the floor types you have encountered on this run.
Developers’ notes: We’ve heard your feedback that Torments were adding too much time pressure. The Jailer may still torment you on higher levels of Torghast, but Torments will not scale with time. Breath of Coldheart  now increases the health of enemy monsters by a flat percentage based on the number of Coldheart Interstitia floors climbed.
Mort'regar's Echoes now increase the Magic damage enemy monsters inflict by a flat percentage based on the number of Mort’regar floors climbed.
Might of the Upper Reaches now increases the Physical damage enemy monsters inflict by a flat percentage based on the number of Upper Reaches floors climbed.
Developers’ notes: The changes above were inspired by feedback that Torments that reduce your power feel worse than torments that affect your enemies. As always, we will continue to tune and keep a close eye on difficulty. Rewards and Access
Legendary materials now only drop from cell block runs, not from the Twisting Corridors.
Developers’ notes: Looting a Resonating Chest may generate a message that says that you have received “bonus materials” for a “timely completion”. This is an artifact from a previous design that has since been removed, and can be ignored. Chests in the Twisting Corridors now drop Twisted Dust , which will be used for cosmetic rewards.
Portals to the six cell blocks (not the Twisting Corridors) now take you to fully-randomized 6-block runs, rather than the pre-set quest run. This includes a Wayfinder on floor 1 that allows you to choose your difficulty.
Two of Torghast’s six cell blocks are open per week. For testing purposes, the available blocks will change daily. They will change weekly in the final version of the game.
Access to the Twisting Corridors will always be available in addition to the two theme blocks.
Developers’ notes: Players who seek Legendary materials alone can do so in Torghast’s cell blocks, and can earn more materials by climbing higher. Players who are looking for cosmetics, or who simply want to play without pressure, can do so in the Twisting Corridors. More Notes
This build includes many bug fixes. Thank you very much for your bug reports! Remember: Alpha is alpha. Things will still change, especially rewards, tuning, and Torghast’s interaction with outside systems. We really appreciate all of your testing and feedback. Many huge Torghast changes have arrived today.
