New Subtlety Rogue Addon

3 posts in this topic

Hello everyone,

I have a question for you. but I do not know if I'm in the right place for this. It was the best place I could find. I've made a special "too long, didn't read" version behind the long story, for people who don't want to read it all.

Long story:

My main is a Shadow Priest and I've never stopped loving the ShadowPriestDoTTimer addon. It tracks your DoTs, DoT strength and current buffscore. Then I made a warlock, whichbecame Affliction and all the DoTs were quite confusing to start with. I found some addons that tracked them and they were working perfectly, but just not for me. I was so extremely hooked on my SP addon, that it set me thinking. So I rewrote the entire addon to work with Affli. I was very satisfied with it so again, I rewrote it, because I kept forgetting to keep Slice and Dice up on my rogue.

tl;dr: Wrote addon for SubRogue for tracking abilities, DoTs and their strength.

I'm quite a perfectionist myself and I try to aim high with having made this addon. Now my question to everyone is: What should I change to the addon to make it good enough to make an appearance on the SubRogue guide page?

The addon can be found here.

Thank you for your time and I'm looking forward to hear from you smile.png

PS: I've also made a an addon for AffliLocks, with which I asked the same question on the warlock forums. That didn't go entirely as planned so to make this clear: If you're really attached to an addon, keep that for yourself. I'm not here to hear "the addon I use is so much better than yours", please, could you give me some constructive criticism instead? smile.png

Well, it didn't go as well for Warlocks because of the proliferation of the already very similar AffDots.  Sub/Rogues do also have a series of addons, but they're all very distinct, so you may find a better base here.

I'll hope to install and give some feedback on it soon.

Did some reading on how the subtlety rotation works in the AMR sim and noticed it saying
      http://www.askmrrobot.com/wow/theory/rotation/amrroguesubtletydefault?spec=RogueSubtlety&version=live from here
Does this mean if I have dos equipped, and activate both sprint and dos at the same time the damage done won't prevent me from getting the vanish? Or is this related to using dos during the vanish effect making it not break stealth?
I haven't had time to test this myself as I'm at work, but if anyone has any experience with this I would appreciate some feedback.
      Edit:
Just did some testing on a dummy and in nighthold. The damage still let's your trigger the sprint vanish during the trinket channel, which means you will not loose out on dps from the 3 sec channel time. It would be best to make sure your energy is pretty low and you're not cp capped. It seems you can still proc shadow techniques during the channel as well.
However it didn't really feel like much of a dps increase, I would habe to practise the timing a bit more. It makes the opener weird. My armory for reference: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/argent-dawn/Jjajangmyeon/advanced

      Hello,
Adelante is currently recruiting DPS & Heals, however, all competent players will be considered.  We are a Horde guild on Arthas and our current progression is 1/10M NH, 10/10H NH 6/7M EN and 3/3H TOV.  As far as classes go we do not have a Moonkin, Mage, Feral Druid, or any type of Monk. We only raid two nights a week, Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:00 PM until 11:00 PM Eastern.  Thursday is not considered a raid night, but we will often clear Heroic and Normal on this evening for AP and it is not required. We are pushing progression on Il'gynoth, and look forward to finishing off EN then moving on to Nighthold, we will be intermittently working on Mythic TOV.
From you, we would expect 100% attendance during your trial period; after that, if you cannot make a raid or will be late it is mandatory to keep the raid leader updated.  In order to continue making good progression while raiding only two nights a week, we expect that you know your class inside-out and will research any bosses you are unfamiliar with prior to raids.
If you are interested, please PM me (violentravi#1826) or recruiting officer Sepsis (tuxedomask#1712) in game.  However, if you have time (which goes a long way) for us to give you a real evaluation there is a short forum to fill out linked on our discord: https://discord.gg/JMVuYRW

      Thank you for your consideration
      Xoxo

So I know the title sounds a bit silly, but hear me out. My problem with MfD is, quite simply, that it locks the upper body of your character into the /point animation and I hate how it looks. I hate it hate it hate it. I use MfD, then Run Through, and my rogue does this weird crouching lunge forward with her cutlass pointing up into the sky. It's so infuriating, and I can't just wait until the animation finishes because I'll lose DPS.
So, how much does MfD outclass the other max level talents for Outlaw? I just want to know if it's even possible to take one of the other talents and have even somewhat competetive DPS.

      Hey,
So the CoF trinket dropped for me yesterday, which means Im having a lot more uptime of Shadowblades. I guess its a good time to switch to Anticipation, since i will have a lot more CP overflow (+4 Set Bonus) and Deeper Strategem got nerfed too. Damage-wise i don't see a difference to DS though, while SimC calculates 20k+ dps with Anticipation. And should i always stack CP to 9-10 when i don't have the Finality Eviscerate Buff ? Im just torn between these two talents.
Another Problem i've noticed is SimC and Icy Veins say that Weaponmaster is better than Master of Subtlety although "top sub rogues" still play with MoS. Is there any reason behind that?

      Hi,
I need some help figuring out my rogues weak auras.
      I currently have this: https://gyazo.com/e9f6967a7c2e56fdb4a88f9c554ebd22
What I want to happen is that when there are 3 seconds remaining on for ex rupture, the icon of rupture glows and once rupture is gone the icon just stays there glowing.
Secondly, could someone give me the ID for the envenom buff as I cannot seem to track it whatever I do. Hopefully in the same format as the others in the picture above.
Can anyone help me with this by guiding me on how to do it or giving me the string on the new one?
      Thanks in advance.
