Grit Mechanic

The current Grit Mechanic is the following: Debuff Application.

When an ally target inflicts a debuff on an enemy target, allies additionally accumulate 1 Grit Value. This effect can be triggered up to 10 time(s) per enemy target.

The current phase will also have the following Grit effects:

  • Concordant Truce: Decreases enemy targets' Effect RES by 30%. Increases DMG taken by enemy targets afflicted with 4 or more debuffs by 20%.
  • Surging Grit: Upon entering "Surging Grit," deals a set amount of DMG to enemy targets 1 time for every debuff they are inflicted with. During "Surging Grit," DMG received by enemy targets increases by 50%. After each time an enemy target is inflicted with a debuff, inflicts 1 stack of "Dejection" on them, decreasing their All-Type RES by 1% for 2 turn(s). This effect can stack up to 20 time(s).
3.3.

Cacophony Buffs

The following Buffs are available during the current Pure Fiction Phase:

  • Toccata: Increases Ultimate and Follow-Up ATK DMG dealt by ally targets by 40%. During "Surging Grit," each time an enemy target is inflicted with the "Dejection" effect, it changes to stacking 2 stack(s) of this effect instead. The max stacking limit of the "Dejection" effect increases to 50 stacks.
  • Mirthful Cadence: After an ally character uses an Elation Skill to attack an enemy target, inflicts the "Indulgence" effect on the attacked enemy target, increasing the DMG taken by this target by 15% for 2 turn(s). This effect applied by each character exists independently. Upon entering "Surging Grit", allies gain 40 Punchline(s).
  • Variation: After an ally target uses a Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate to attack an enemy target, there is a 100% base chance to reduce the attacked enemy target's DEF by 3%, lasting for 2 turn(s). This effect can stack up to 10 times.

Pure Fiction Stage 4 Tips & Strategy

Pure Fiction as a mode favors characters that can deal large amounts of multi-target damage, such as AoE or Blast. This is because defeating the smaller enemies on the field in Wave 2 and 3 will deal bonus damage to the main boss, allowing you to progress to the final wave faster and generate more points.

Additionally, playing into the grit mechanic can help boost your damage output. Building teams that can build grit quickly and use the Surging Grit buff can help with generating more points.

6.1.

First Half

Many mobs on this half only activate mechanics on their second turn. Prioritize defeating mobs who have already spawned in before moving to the next ones.

Zander grants free ultimates but also deals a large amount of damage. Killing adds will cause him to inflict vulnerability on himself, and this also applies to Memosprites who remove themselves from the field such as Evey and Netherwing. Use this to your advantage to deal massive damage to his health bar!

6.2.

Second Half

Dreamjolt Troupe's Beyond Overcooked will deal a massive amount of damage to itself it you hit it enough times to break it out of its advanced state. Aim to do this when possible.

The Black Tide Council often goes untargatable, so make sure to use Blast and AOE type attacks to deal damage to them.

Pure Fiction Stage 4 Starward Mode Tips & Strategy

This stage has exploding enemies in wave 1, allowing you to quickly breeze through the wave. Prioritize killing the Juvenile Stings, as they deal slightly more damage.

The Automaton Hound and Autonomous Wands can create a scary scenario in the final wave, as the Hound will always heal the enemy side of the Field on its second turn. This gets hard to manage when the Wand has an additional RNG chance to either delay and stun all enemies or action advance them 100%. Make sure to track the Automaton Hounds and ensure they cannot get their heals off by either breaking and CCing them or killing them before they can act twice.

Kafka comes with her typical debuff shenanigans, so make sure your sustain has the ability to cleanse debuffs for this stage.
