Best Gems for Enhancement Shamans
Because of the different stat values, as discussed in our stats page, the value of each gem varies, depending on the stats they provide.
The Red Gems are usually the most valuable, granting a lot of Attack
Power.
Blue Gems have Mp5 and
Yellow Gems have Melee Hit. Socket color bonuses
are usually worth it but it depends on the specific stat given for the bonus and
how many
Blue Gems you need to put in to unlock it.
Phase 2 introduces the Stormjewels epic gems as a small drop chance
from the daily Fishing quest. You can use one of these to gain a minor
stat bonus over regular gems, but they are likely to be expensive. If you want
to use one, we recommend a Rigid Stormjewel, since there is no raw Attack
Power Stormjewel.
Wrath Enhancement Shaman Meta Gem
Relentless Earthsiege Diamond is the best
Meta Gem for
Enhancement Shamans, increasing your damage substantially and making
your frequent Critical Strikes deal even more damage!
Wrath Enhancement Shaman Red Gem Sockets
The Bright Scarlet Ruby is the main gem that you should be putting
into
Red Sockets on your gear, with
Precise Scarlet Ruby or
Accurate Monarch Topaz
also being fine options if you are lacking in the Hit / Expertise departments.
Wrath Enhancement Shaman Blue Gem Sockets
One Enchanted Tear is the best
Blue Gem, but if you want to fill in
more
Blue Sockets you should go with
Balanced Twilight Opal,
Vivid Forest Emerald, or
Guardian's Twilight Opal.
Wrath Enhancement Shaman Yellow Gem Sockets
Stark Monarch Topaz is the best non-Hit / Expertise
Yellow Gem, but you
can also use
Accurate Monarch Topaz,
Rigid Autumn's Glow, or
Pristine Monarch Topaz for hitting your caps.
Wrath Classic Enhancement Shaman Complete Consumable List
While we will be listing only the best consumable options below, there are a lot of slightly less powerful options that can be used to save gold if the proposed consumables are too expensive in your server.
Wrath Classic Enhancement Shaman Flasks
Flask of Endless Rage is the recommended flask for Enhancement,
and is a good option during progress on hard bosses because it does not get
removed on death. If all you are concerned with is area damage,
Flask of the Frost Wyrm will typically provide more.
Wrath Classic Enhancement Shaman Elixirs
Elixir of Lightning Speed or
Spellpower Elixir (area damage) are
the best Battle Elixirs.
Elixir of Mighty Thoughts is the best Guardian elixir.
Wrath Classic Enhancement Shaman Food Buff
Fish Feast,
Poached Northern Sculpin, or
Mega Mammoth Meal
are the best foods available.
Wrath Classic Enhancement Shaman Potions
Potion of Speed is the best DPS potion, although you can also use
Runic Mana Potion instead if you have Mana issues. While only one potion
can be used per fight, if you use your potion just before pulling, it will start
its cooldown and you will be able to use another during the fight.
