Welcome to our Macros guide for Warriors, where you will find out what the best macros are for your Warrior in WotLK Classic.

The focus of this section is to show you some examples of some basic macros and explain how they work. A Macro is a line of commands that you can input into a text box that will execute the written commands in the order you have given them with a single button press.

Macros for Warrior in Wrath of the Lich King Classic

Auto Attack Macros

  • #showtooltip Spell Name
  • /startattack
  • /cast Spell Name

Start attack macros are a huge improvement to your gameplay, automatically starting your auto attacks when you press a button. This helps you start auto attacking quicker and easier, generally improving your damage done. Be sure to replace "Spell Name" in the macro above with the appropriate spell. We recommend using a start attack macro for almost every offensive ability you have.

All Healthstones in one Button Macro

  • #showtooltip
  • /use item:36894
  • /use item:36893
  • /use item:36892

This allows you to use any rank of Fel Healthstone Icon Fel Healthstone no matter which one you grab. In WotLK you can only carry one Healthstone at a time, but the strength of the Healthstone depends on how many talent points the Warlock has spent in the Improved Healthstone IconImproved Healthstone talent. This simplifies it by putting all 3 on one button and tries to use the best version first if available.

Weapon Swap Macro

  • #showtooltip
  • /stopcasting
  • /equipslot 16 Main Hand Weapon
  • /equipslot 17 Off Hand Weapon or Shield

This macro is useful for time when you are taking damage, have pulled threat, or generally just need to swap weapons. It is important to include the /stopcasting line to cancel any queued Heroic Strike IconHeroic Strike or Cleave IconCleave as you will not be able to change your weapons when these abilities are waiting to go off. Make sure to replace the "Main Hand Weapon" and "Off Hand Weapon or Shield" parts with the name of your weapons and/or shield.

Warrior Addons

Macros are very important in making your character play as smoothly as possible, but so do addons, for which reason we recommend that you also read our Warrior Addons page.
