Mistwake Dungeon Guide and Loot List

Last updated Today at 00:00 by Lyra

Welcome to our guide to Mistwake, an endgame dungeon released in Patch 7.4. This guide aims to prepare players for the dungeon so they will know what to expect, with simple mechanic instructions and notes on what to watch out for.

1.

Introduction

Dungeon 12 Banner FFXIV

Beneath the Ninth's roiling sky lies the Mist Continent, once home to the Kingdom of Alexandria and her fellow nations. The nearest of these, according to Sphene, was the city-state of Treno. It is toward that potential bastion of civilization that you and your companions now forge a path through the storm...

Unlocking Mistwake

Mistwake can be unlocked at Level 100 from the main scenario quest "Beyond the Mountains". It is the capstone dungeon players will encounter in Dawntrail Patch 7.4, Into the Mist.

Max-level dungeons should be done with wall-to-wall pulls, as player gear outscales any incoming damage the mobs do. Make sure to mitigate the packs and use effective healing and damage cooldowns to burn the trash down quickly.

2.1.

First Boss Trash Mobs

No mobs in these trash packs are threatening.

2.2.

Treno Catoblepas

The first boss uses the following abilities.

  • Earthquake: Raidwide physical damage.
  • Thunder II: Ground AoEs and targeted magic AoEs on all players. Deals magic damage and breaks any rocks it hits.
  • Bedeviling Light: AoE that must be line-of-sighted by standing behind a rock pillar relative to the boss.
  • Thunder III: Magical tank buster.
  • Ray of Lightning: Stack line marker on the healer. Stack to share.
  • Petribreath: Untelegraphed frontal conal. Move to the side or behind.

Try not to break the pillars when Thunder II is cast, as you need to hide behind them for Bedeviling Light.

2.3.

Second Boss Trash Mobs

Slide down the rail to the next set of trash mobs. No mobs here are threatening, but the large Mistwake Rock has a medium-sized conal AoE and the hallway is rather tight.

2.4.

Amdusias

The second boss uses the following abilities.

  • Thunderclap Concerto: Raises its wings and creates balls of electricity. Find the safe area where there aren't any balls.
  • Bio II: Creates poison orbs that explode on contact with the boss.
  • Galloping Thunder: The boss dashes across the arena multiple times. Poison orbs will explode when collided with.
  • Thunder IV: Raidwide magic damage.
  • Shockbolt: Magic tank buster.
  • Thunder: Marked AoEs on all players.
  • Thunder III: Multi-hit stack marker on the healer. Stack to share.
2.5.

Final Boss Trash Mobs

Mistwake Spirits will cast Thunderstrike, a large point-blank AoE. Since there are three of them, the second pull can get annoying. Otherwise there is nothing to note.

2.6.

Thundergust Griffin

The final boss uses the following abilities.

  • Thunderspark: Raidwide magic damage.
  • High Volts: Marked AoEs on all players. Also ground AoEs appear, which spawn lightning orbs.
  • Thundering Roar: The lightning orbs explode and do line AoEs in the directions indicated.
  • Fulgurous Fall: The boss jumps to the edge and dashes across the arena, knocking players back from the middle line. It then dashes across perpendicularly. This spawns lightning orbs.
  • Storm Surge: Line AoE which spawns a rotating tornado outside the arena.
3.

Loot

Mistwake drops item level 755 Mistwake equipment.
