Healing Guide

Recommended Posts

I read through this guide and it is most excellent!  I found this video the other day and it does an excellent job of covering raid frame setup using Blizzards built in Raid Frames and macros.  This is covered very well in the guide above, however, this is beneficial for some of us who prefer to watch videos over reading.

It's a solid way to setup without needing an addon too, so that's a plus.

Some advice and rant...
Remember when people love to clean up the trash it is important for the healer to see them because the garbage man cannot receive any health benefits by cleaning up the garbage in another room all alone.  We all know it is a very professional habit to do but at low levels it is just stupid to do it.  It is actually just a modelling of what the pros do at top level and they can tank like 20 monsters at a time comfortably not at level 20 or even level 60 or so. Thank you.

Ok, new to healing and for most part Add-ons.

In guide it states to randomly choose between one of these:

  • Cell: a modern addon with powerful customization options and an easy to understand user interface.
  • VuhDo: VuhDo is highly customizable, and you can find how in our VuhDo guide.
  • Enhanced raid frame indicators: allows you to use Blizzard's default raid bars
  • Grid2: A popular option with many plug-ins which allow you to further enhance and customize it.
  • HealBot Continued: another popular option.

Then in following section is says ditch all that and use ElvUI.

Honestly, it is a guide, what are we supposed to use?!

You can / should use any of these with ElvUI, as its unit frame capabilities are nothing special.

Personally I use VuhDo still but most ppl nowadays use Cell, got to try them out to figure out what works for you tbh!
