The 2% buffs should refresh itself whenever you do damage with fire, frost, and nature, not when you actively use any ability. So FT and FB should keep the fire and frost 2% buffs up as long as they're active and you're hitting something.

Thanks for helping out with that! :)

Gladly :)

Curious, have you guys been eyeing the changes on the PTR at all? Looks like we're getting a 6% buff to all abilities and Hailstorm is getting a 25% nerf. Going to heat up the AS vs HS debate even further.

Personally (I don't main a Shaman), no, but Furty and Wordup have been! Updates are already in the works to ensure that we get things out in a timely manner, but the ever-changing nature of the PTR does make it tough!

So new question. After a certain gear/ilvl gear point will I see a change in my stats? I ran a simcraft and it pushed haste as my second best stat overall, as opposed to Mastery. Maybe I screwed something up, but my simcraft looked like this. This is with the changes to character gear over the last few weeks. Added a new lego got some upgrades etc... etc.... Is this simcraft wrong, or am I at an ilvl breakpoint where haste no becomes a higher stat?
( Pawn: v1: "Manatideteo": Agility=14.05, CritRating=10.91, HasteRating=13.28, MasteryRating=11.70, Versatility=11.64 )

So new question.

Stats will always change depending on the player. Stat weights completely rely on interaction between stats and how much each one would give bonus DPS when compared to another in terms of single points.

This means that, if you have 1 million mastery, 1 more point of Mastery means nothing. If you have 0 Vers and you add 1 point of Vers, it's going to mean A LOT. This is completely normal.

The guides are currently being updated for 7.1.5! I just wanted to leave a few notes for all of our users that might be getting ready to leave a comment:

  • Some pages do not require updates. The "Last Updated" stat does not mean the page is out of date, it might just not have needed any changes. If you feel that it does, leave a comment telling us what needs changing and why.
  • The process will not happen immediately - some guides will be updated faster than others simply due to the number of resources available. Be patient, they'll be ready when you need them!
  • There might be some continuity errors when making small adjustments to large guide pages. If you do find one of these, just let us know in the comments and we'll get it fixed ASAP.
  • "Why have you not taken into account X buff to X ability?" - remember, just because something got buffed, it doesn't mean it is now automatically better than the other options!

As always, we want to thank you all for being patient while we get things updated and I'm always available to help you all if you need it :)

Thanks for the updates.
The checkboxes for Hot Hand/CL don't seem to be working on the DPS rotation page.

Hi im curious if you should still spec into Hailstorm if youre wearing the legendary bracer since you need both buffs active to activate them or would it still not be worth it?
I was planning on using Hot Hands (Tier 1) and Hailstorm because of them.
I wont really have time to test it anymore since our raid is always on ID reset day and i have to work till evening, would be glad to get some help with it!
Thanks in advance and thats my character if it helps anyhow:

I've seen a few posts on the MMOchamp forums all indicating that regardless of your legendaries, HS or Frostbrand should never be used after the nerfs in 7.1.5.

The only user posting otherwise is in this thread:

http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/2148760-akainu-eye-of-tn-hailstorm

And they indicated that it's a benefit only if you have Akainu's Bracers and the Eye Ring.

Am I the only one who doesn't seem to like the new rotation or the changes Blizzard did, I could understand giving us a baseline damage increase but to in theory change how the class does damage just doesn't seem right to me.

Could be i am just too used to the old rotation and not the new one

Overall it seemED like a buff, but on the dummy it seems like a huge nerf. I bursted with easily over 1 million before, having the Belt and the Necklace (crap legendaries) and could maintain around 500-550k STDPS. Now I barely burst with 700k, not even talking about my average DPS..

This is always one of the biggest issues when big patch changes hit. You get used to one thing, then have to learn a new rotation for the raid in a week. It sucks, but at least it keeps things fresh!

I have Akainu's Bracers...but I also have the Feral Spirit boots...should i go Hot Hand with the bracers, or keep Windsong with Boots?

I think it depends on the fight - movement heavy or general fight, boots + WS. Completely ST, Hail/Hot/Bracers.

Is there any changing from Fury of Air or is this the way to go now? I just dont like the mechanic of having to monitor this ability.

I believe it is now the best talent in that line for every situation bar one or two VERY niche ones. It's unfortunate, but it is definitely the best.

Did some sims on Ursoc (H) via AskMrRobot and I'm still ahead in terms of DPS using Boulderfist instead of Windsong... which isn't a fight with a lot of cleave so I'm wondering if I missed something in the 7.1.5 updated guide... would speccing Boulderfist affect my capacity to maintain Fury of Air too much you think ? (Malt, Kirin Tor EU)

Definitely possible, yes, given that you lack the AS-generation from WS. Also keep in mind that all sim-related testing is done through SimulationCraft for the guide.

The new War Within Allied Races was added to the Alpha today and we already have a full look at not only all their customization options, but their dances as well, courtesy of MrGM! You can check out the Earthen's racial abilities here if you missed them earlier.
Let's start with the more dynamic feature, with both male and female dances:
And then there's big amount of customization options, as well as a size comparison with regular dwarves:

So, are we liking the new Allied Race overall? More than actual dwarves?

Here's a really cool possibility for the War Within, as a very subtle and mildly mysterious comment from Executive Producer and Vice President for WoW, Holly Longdale, may be hinting at our Warband characters getting a lot more involved in our travels!
First spotted by UlthansWrath, Longdale came up to Taliesin & Evitel at the recent London War Within Alpha press event and had a short chat about the Warband screen, when she casually said "wouldn't it be cool if those were the characters you took as your followers in your Follower Dungeons?" After the obvious confirmation from Taliesin and Evitel that, yes, yes it would be cool, she just said "hm" and that was the end of the conversation.
Obviously this isn't any sort of official confirmation, but considering this is a really awesome idea, it seems likely Blizzard are at the very least discussing it, if not already working on it.

The Warband system is already great, and this would add a lot to it for players that choose to go solo into dungeons, as it would give them even more motivation to get some great characters in their Warband - even if it was just a cosmetic option.
So, what do you think, will we be seeing this feature when the War Within launches?
