5 Things You Should Do Every Day in Legion

Recommended Posts

world-dissolve-still.jpg

So, you've reached level 110 and you are at a loss at what you need to do? Or you are already experienced enough, but still need to figure out which of the numerous max-level content activities are worth doing? We've got you covered!

Max-level content can seem daunting at first, since there are a lot more things to do now. However, once you get these things in order and set up a plan, you will see that's it's not difficult to keep up with all (or at least most) of them.

Below, we have a list of 5 activities you should aim to do each day. Obviously, it depends on the type of player you are and what content you prefer to do. The importance of each activity degrades depending on its number, but again it's up to you to decide what you want to prioritise. As you will see, most of these activities are intertwined, meaning one helps the other (or with other content) and/or they work for the same goal.

1. Start Artifact Knowledge research and Order Hall advancements

4P0YLLY523GH1471229296915.jpg

Technically not an every-day activity, but still of utmost importance. Even though there are catch-up mechanics for people that can’t play every day, it’s crucial to get started early with both of these things. Artifact Knowledge will increase the rate at which you gain Artifact Power. The first work order will give a 25% increase so, for example, if an item gave you 100 AP before, now it will give you 125. The Order Hall advancements are also important. You can check which ones to pick, as well as the cost of each of them, in our guide.

2. Finish your Order Hall campaign

NNXLR6TDYOEP1471990745884.jpg

Again, this won't happen in a single day, but you should get it done as soon as possible. The campaigns for most classes are time-gated, meaning that they mostly require 8- or even 12-hour missions. Some campaigns even require materials. Once you complete your campaign, you will unlock a new skin for your Artifact, two more Champions and an ilvl 830 chest. More importantly, you will get your third relic slot, which will give you a significant item level boost.

3. Suramar: Work on your Nightfallen reputation

0NYC3T97JYJJ1472564151604.jpg

When you hit level 110, you will be able to go to Suramar. There, you will work with the Nightfallen, a faction of exiled Nightborne, who are trying to reclaim their city from their traitorous queen, who has allied herself with Gul’dan. Suramar can be a bit challenging for a newly dinged level 110 character, but it is imperative that you start questing there early.

Suramar has a TON of quests, but you should focus on the main storylines that can be found under the achievement Good SuramaritanGood Suramaritan. These quests award reputation with the Nightfallen. It is advised to also do all Nightfallen World Quests (once you unlock them) in Suramar, since it is another means to gain rep with this faction. If you don’t have time for both, do the World Quests first. Lastly, you should run the Withered Army Training scenario once every 3 days. The most effective and profitable way to do this is by taking 20 Withered with you, thus spending 2000 Ancient Mana for it. For that, you will need to work on increasing your Ancient Mana cap. You can learn more about Ancient Mana here.

Why is Nightfallen reputation important? By reaching Friendly with the Nightfallen (and all other factions), you will be able to unlock World Quests. At Honored, you will unlock the main storyline Blood and Wine, which will help you further increase how much Ancient Mana you can hold. At 8000/12000 Honored, the Mythic-only dungeons Court of Stars and The Arcway will unlock. The goal is to reach Revered with the Nightfallen.

4. Do World Quests, but don’t overdo it

SXQ90I1HO90A1472545395161.jpg

World Quests are the new dailies. Once you reach Friendly with all Legion factions (minus The Wardens), a quest will open up for you in Dalaran which will allow you to do World Quests. We already have a guide on World Quests, so here we will discuss which ones you should prioritise. Obviously, you need to always do the emissary. Other than that, here are the dailies you should be looking for:

  • Anything that awards Nightfallen reputation (see point 3).
  • Anything that awards Wardens reputation. The only direct way you can get rep with this faction is by doing their World Quests and Vault of the Wardens. You can learn about other ways in our guide.
  • Anything that awards Artifact Power.
  • Anything that awards gear. The good thing with these World Quests is that the gear rewards scale with your current item level. Therefore, they can offer lucrative rewards for both new 110s and veterans.

The following have lower priority, but you can hunt them down if needed: Order Hall resources, profession dailies that award recipes or Blood of Sargeras. Anything else should be avoided.

5. Dungeons

QJA16QJ2CDP91471652044141.jpg

Nothing special to say here. Dungeons will help you gear up and gain Artifact Power. Normal dungeon queues can take up to an hour for a DPS at max level. You need 810 ilvl to queue for a random heroic. If you want to be super-efficient, you can go full hardcore and do all 8 heroics every day since they award 400 AP each. At the moment, heroic dungeon queues for DPS are around 10-15 minutes. Experienced players should run Mythic dungeons each week and work to unlock the two Suramar Mythic dungeons. You can find some gearing tips at the end of this article.

Have you not had enough yet?!

QI4XSJENA3UF1470273443577.jpg

Here are some other things you can do at max level. Some of them can be done as side-activities, while others will be unlocked in the near future for you.

  • Level your professions. Crafted gear (including trinkets and rings/necks) from primary professions is 850 ilvl, which is currently the highest item level you can achieve (assuming you don’t get a legendary). You should also do your profession quests. Secondary professions have their own activities: Fishing has its very own Artifact, Cooking recipes are unlocked with Work Orders and Archaeology has a questline.
  • Get your weekly bonus roll (once you unlock the 5th Order Hall advancement).
  • Do the weekly world boss (once they are added to the game). A preview guide can be found here.

Closing tips on gearing up

EA4OYDP6FOA11472237588265.jpg

Let’s face it: getting better gear is one of the end-game goals of WoW and a high priority for a lot of players. When you hit level 110, you should be nearing 800 ilvl. For some reason, the climb to 810 ilvl, when heroics are unlocked, feels exceptionally steep. My advice is to hunt for the World Quests that award gear (4) and do some normal dungeons (5), although queues can take a while. Less steep, but still not easy, is the climb to 820 ilvl, at which point you become good enough to join a Mythic dungeon. Again, keep doing World Quests and farm heroics.

Heroics are worth farming even after you outgear them, since they have a low, yet not negligible chance of dropping Warforged and/or Titanforged gear. After that, you should work on your Suramar dungeons attunement (3); some pretty sweet trinkets drop from there. Completing the Order Hall campaign (2) will help a lot with increasing your item level. Lastly, another solid gearing option is to unlock your Order Hall armor set.

Level your professions. Crafted gear (including trinkets and rings/necks) from primary professions is 850 ilvl,

Not true. The highest Ilvl you can get from JC is currently 815.

You can upgrade with Obliterum no?

Yep, Obliterum upgrades (all 7 of them) help you reach 850 ilvl! I forgot to mention working on the Obliterum forge quest ^^

it can be quite costly but Peelyon has a pretty neat guide on how to turn it into something profitable!

Very good summary!

I found the 800-810 ilvl climb easier by focussing on the order hall gear set, you can find your gearset and the linked achievements to get each piece on guides here on icy veins.

But most importantly, from the same merchant that sells the gear, you can also buy upgrade tokens for that gear.
Going up to 840 ilvl I believe (could also be 850 but not sure), which greatly boosted my overall ilvl!

Can go up to 840 with upgrades, with the shoulders being the only piece that starts at and can reach 850.

Hi all i was hoping someone could tell me how to get the 815 jc ring/neck recipes thatbyou are talking about.

Hey there! It mainly depends on which one you're looking for. Some are bought from Jabrul, others are obtained via quests.

Here are the 815 recipes for rings:

For necks, all of the recipes come from Jabrul, the NPC linked above.

Thank you for this guide. Would like an explanation of why grinding rep with the Wardens is so important. It doesn't say currently.

I'm assuming professions and the Blood of Sargeras shoulder enchant? And/or Revered for Pathfinder achievement? All of these seem optional, or at least not needed by everyone...

I believe that getting the Wardens rep to Revered (for the shoulder enchant) was assumed a very important step in getting the BiS crafted preraid gear, before we knew the live drop rates for Blood of Sargeras and epic gear upgrades from world quests.

Right now I feel no need in any particular rush with this rep (maybe except for Inscriptors that want to have Vantus runes recipes before raids start): we are getting a huge amount of bloods and a pretty good rate of 845-850 epic gear upgrades from dungeon runs and world quests.

What Pandacho said + the Pathfinder achievement and the various profession recipes. It's so hard to level this rep with only WQs, the dungeon and the occasional Kirin Tor emissary, I think it's better to start early :)

personally, I am at the beginning of Honored with the Wardens (Revered with everything else) and I have been actively trying to do most of their WQs!

When flying released in Draenor, people were complaining about how terrible it was to do etc.

If you do that little bit every day, as Zadina says, things are just so much simpler rather than rushing it later on.

Hi guys a couple of questions mabe you could help me out on. So i was looking up a pretty popular gamer on the armory and it was showing he had plus 325 mastery gems. Is that even possible i thought the highest gems only gave plus 200. Another thing is for frost dks the stat priority is strength crit then haste according to the guide on here. I always thought mastery was the best since it increases pretty much all damage done?

Tooltips aren't always updated immediately on the armory, especially since Legion launch.

For your other question, generally you should ask that in the DK forum. I'll answer it here anyway though:

Stats are calculated via sims. Just because Mastery increases your frost damage doesn't mean it provides the best DPS per point. Scaling, rotation and general playstyle can all have an impact on it.

I got through it by just doing the Order Hall quests that require Order Resources. Keep an eye out for any order Resources quests that have a banner on them and prioritize those. They will give you followers and require you to go into certain zones and fight through story quests.

If you want more detail than that, you need to be willing to accept spoilers.

There are several detailed pages at wowhead.

e.g.

There can be a few things that have an impact on this. Are they both 110? Have you completed all quests in your log that belong to the Class Hall Campaign subset? Did you complete the quests to go do dungeons on your DK?

Also remember that different campaigns take different amounts of time, since the missions used to be longer for some. Now that the mission time is the same for everyone, different campaign time length definitely starts to show.

Solozerro has defeated Mythic Garrosh alone in MoP Remix! Congrats to the amazing feat that took months of dedication to accomplish!
In an emotional tribute to a friend who passed away during the transition between World of Warcraft's Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm expansions, one dedicated player has fulfilled a long-standing promise to leave their mark in the game's history.
"I promised her I would make a name for myself in WoW history, and today, I can finally say I've done this in her honor," Solozerro said.
This accomplishment was the result of several evenings of dedicated attempts, each preceded by a week of rigorous farming. The process spanned multiple weeks, with each attempt lasting about 15 minutes.
The player faced significant challenges, particularly with the Y’Shaarj adds during Garrosh Hellscream’s Empowered Whirlwind phase. "You need a high DPS check just for those adds," Solozerro explained.
Back when the fight was nearly impossible to solo as a DPS, Solo had to do it in tank specialization to avoid fight resets due to mind control, which significantly impacted their damage output.
Despite these obstacles, the player remained steadfast. "In total, I collected over 1.5 million threads on my cloak," they said, underscoring the extent of their efforts.

Even the recent nerfs to Garrosh Hellscream posed a unique challenge. "I overslept and when I woke up and heard about the nerfs, I was sure someone would have tried it. During the fight, I still had adds up, but luckily, I managed to meet the DPS check to avoid the Empowered Whirlwind."
This achievement not only honors a friend's memory but also serves as an inspiration to the WoW community. "These changes will affect a lot and might actually push more people to try it," the player reflected.
Here’s the solo video! We want to congratulate Solozerro once again and express how thrilled we are to have been part of this incredible journey!
Solozerro's journey has come to an end today with 24 days of MoP Remix remaining! The player has soloed Mythic Garrosh after the recent raid nerfs, nearly 1 months after soloing the Paragons of Klaxxi.

As of the War Within pre-patch, Alysrazor in the Firelands raid is bugged, preventing players from getting the Flametalon of Alysrazor mount.
Blizzard made various updates to flying in the War Within pre-patch, and a possible side-effect could be tied to Alysrazor not leaving her spawn location when you engage her in the raid.
Hopefully, Blizzard will soon release a fix for the issue. Until then, don't bother soloing the Firelands!
    • By Starym
It's time for some more preliminary stats, as the pre-patch has been here a whole 3 days (well, not exactly "whole", especially considering the game time gifts)! We're taking a look at how the class changes shifted the dungeon meta, but keep in mind these are really early numbers and fewer players do Mythic+ in post-season.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
While the very top spot remains unchallenged, as Augmentation is set to rule M+ forever, the rest is pretty different! We have some Fyr'alath action right after the Evoker, as Fury and Ret fight it out over the silver, while Shadow falls down to 4th, but is still very much in the game. Unholy makes a solid leap up and passes Elemental, with Fire dropping down some. Devastation and Demonology are newcomers to the bottom 3, where Enhancement welcomes them as a pretty much permanent resident.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
Things are looking similar in the generalist bracket, but Retribution takes down Fury here and Fire is significantly higher. Survival is also doing a lot better than in the top percentiles, and Beast Mastery makes the top 10 as well.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles Tank (Points)
The tanks show basically no change whatsoever, as is customary, with only Protection Warrior managing to climb one up and leave Brewmaster at the bottom.
Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Healer (Points)
Holy is pushing up and then some, claiming 2nd right below the long-time emperor, Resto Druid. Shaman climbs up from much lower to grab 3rd, while Discipline falls down to the bottom.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides (updated for the pre-patch), as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

There's plenty more class changes for both the pre-patch and Season of Discovery, along with dungeon tweaks, Skyriding fixes, profession and PvP adjustments and more!
       July 25 (Source)
      Classes
Druid Balance Wrath cast by Convoke the Spirits now consumes Dreamstate buffs from Nature's Grace and the Amirdrassil Season 3 (2-piece) Set Armor bonus. Amirdrassil Season 3 (2-piece) Set Armor: Dreamstate now increases the damage of Wrath and Starfire by 80% (was 100%). Hunter Survival Players who had a Wildfire Bomb override from Wildfire Infusion's previous iteration have had them removed. Warrior Protection Fixed a bug causing Spell Reflection to occasionally fail to reflect a spell. Dungeons and Raids
Algeth'ar Academy Fixed an issue where Vexamus would not face its target during the cast of Arcane Expulsion on Heroic and Mythic difficulty. Flying
Pathfinder requirements for Skyriding have been removed from Battle for Azeroth and Shadowlands zones. Player-versus-Player
Malicia and Field Master Emberath now correctly offer their Dragonflight Season 4 War Mode equipment until the launch of War Within. Resolved an issue that sometimes prevented healers from being able to duo queue in Rated Battleground Blitz. Professions
Reduced Trainer costs for Dragonflight professions. Titles
The Title "Timber Lord" should now display correctly. Season of Discovery
Increased the number of Firelands Invader, Obsidian Reaver, and Obsidian Surger spawns for the Blackrock Eruption event across Searing Gorge. The Might of Stormwind buff will now appear properly in the tooltip when a Chronoboon is used. Items Devilcore Leggings and Devilcore Gloves patterns can now drop from additional sources other than King Mosh. All of the revamped or new Molten Core items that were strictly Unique are now Unique-Equipped to allow master looters to hold these items during raids. Season of Discovery versions of recipes should be available again from their trainers, making turn-ins for professions quests possible. Mage Rewind Time can no longer be cast if the target will not benefit from its healing. Priest Priests who don't have the Divine Spirit talent learned are now prevented from casting higher ranks of Divine Spirit and Prayer of Spirit. Rogue The cooldown on Rogue Shuriken Toss has been reduced to 20 seconds (was 30 seconds). Warlock Shadowflame will no longer be overwritten by Improved Shadow Bolt. Warrior Last Stand cooldown reduced to 3 minutes.
