Resto Druid Trinkets

10 posts in this topic

Hi

I am after some help on resto druid BIS trinket. I have been looking at AskMrRobot and Icy Veins with noxxic for stat weightings.

AskMrRobot recommends Bottled Hurricane so highly. which contradicts icy veins and even when I try changing the stats as they had different stat priorities on noxxic and that still recommended the same trinket. I am guessing it is the haste that is ranking so high, would this trinket also be affected by mastery?

They also say AskMrRobot trinkets is a work in progress so I also wonder on the accuracy.

I could not find much info around trinkets, if anyone knows good sites to check I would appreciate that too.

I should note my focus is raid heals.

I also wonder if i am mis-understanding the stat ratings on AskMrRobot - i thought it was the order you prioritized stats and then a weighting for each. is this correct and if so what is the best way to determine weighting?

Firstly, don't bother with Noxxic's weights, honestly. If you want stat weights for Resto Druid, I would recommend this, Leaf's stat weights:

https://wago.io/VkuAT-pHb

There is also a thread where Leaf discusses the above WeakAura and how it is used for stat weights:

http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1904367-Resto-Druid-Legion-Talents?p=41139850&viewfull=1#post41139850

As for Ask Mr Robot: every day, I seem to have a new thread where somebody tells me AMR has told them something strange that doesn't fit with anything else. I don't know why they have Mastery as their main stat for a general build. Mastery is good in a VERY close environment, such as an M+, but even then, Haste is still extremely strong.

As for the trinket, the sim will LOVE the Haste on the trinket, but the on-use is just so lackluster, hence why we don't rate it as a top trinket. The Intellect on the others is just too good and they still have good procs too.

Has anyone actually tried bottled hurricane?

I have it and could not proc it even ONCE. I saw someone else post about the same problem on the Blizzard forums when searching through it.

I have had terrible luck with trinket drops, so healed the new normal raid yesterday with an 825 Bottled Hurricane.  It's actually pretty good for stacked fights.  Set up a weak aura to track stacks for best results.

You won't get stacks out of combat so just healing yourself or healing dummies alone won't show you anything unless you give a combat dummy a zap with moonfire or something.

Well.. that would explain alot. I might give it another whirl tonight.

I also got a hold of a Horn of Cenarius. Personally find it a little under whelming. It is 70k healing on a 1 min CD which sounds good but I just found unless the fight is specifically stacked up it felt a bit lack luster. Would be nice if the wisp actually had an animation and maybe detonated after a few seconds. Would maybe give time for a few people to rotate into it.

I personally am finding it hard to give up 1K intellect for these procs which are situation compared to just having a flat increase to all our abilities / mana.

Thanks for this, I ran it on our normal raid. Interesting results again, with haste being only slightly better than crit, then versatility, then finally mastery. Completely different to AMR, but since this almost matches with literally every other website, guide, and theorycrafter on the planet I'm probably going to go ahead and personally say that AMR needs a bit of "refinement".

As far as trinkets go, I've been unlucky enough to not get a single one from any content I've done. I've got a stupid amount of almost useless ones from world quests though -_-

Hi. Ive tested that WA addon but could you please help me figure out how it works? It shows crit as '1', and all other stats as a decimal smaller than 1. Does that mean that i am getting the most benefit from crit? and least benefit from the smallest decimal?

Hey guys I'm a Druid Healer with Discedant on Zul'jin. I have been playing with most of the trinkets and here is what I like and why.

#1. Flask of Solemn Night. This is an overlooked trinket but its proc rate is insane and that haste has proven very helpful in a jam +7. Even better it seems to either be broken or just amazing since it seems to capture the max time on Hots Ticking as long as you get it into that 10 sec window.

#2. Bottled Hurricane. I have never seen it drop past 845ilvl. However, it currently takes the place over all 865's. Its not just the haste thats amazing its the actual distance and amount of healing it provides in its little window (5 seconds 10 yards). If your placing Efflorescence on the raid it fills the bottle very fast along with your normal healing rotations. Seeds don't seem to count but everything else seems to fill this little sucker. Now you have to think Eff only heals 3 players for X amount every 1.7 seconds. Bottle Hurricane heals 5 players for double your Eff every second for 5 seconds. I equate it to a mini tranquility (Which lasts 6 seconds).

First, Here are a few things to know about the trinket. 1. It doesn't proc anything if you are healing a non damaged target. 2. It doesn't proc more than once based upon multi target spells. 3. it does like critical healing on tanks (The lower health the better).  It literally will only proc once per spell, if it decides to. If the raid or Group is taking lots of damage it obviously fills faster. In a small normal Dungeon you may only get to 10, 4 times depending on how many people stand in fire. In a mythic +7 I have seen it reach 10x10 on Eye of Ash multiple times. I have never seen it drop past +3. Honestly, if you get it past +7 mythic please let me know, since I'm farming for it :).

Here is the Trinket in Action....you decide.

I did not use the bottle on this particular video because of my mana issues and needed to choose Cacoon. Just using it to show I'm not a total terribad player :)

      Hey guys,

I'd appreciate if you could have a look at my trinket sims. I'm a little bit confused about the results, so maybe you could tell me if it seems correct?

For BoS people say strength > all, but SC reccommends me 2 non strength trinkets.
For ST it's Faulty Countermeasure (900) and Unstable Arcanocrystal (865).
For MT Horn of Valor (865) and Unstable Arcanocrystal (865).

None of them has strength, could that really be the right choice for BoS?
I also have Convergence of Fates (875), which is not reccommended as top choice, but i know Simcraft undervalues it a little bit - at least that's what i've heard.

I run mostly M+ and only 1 day per week Nighthold, so my thoughts were to use the following combinations:
For M+ Arcanocrystal (865) / Countermeasure (900) with tyrannical affix and Arcanocrystal (865) / Horn (865) for other trash affixes.
For raiding i thought Countermeasure (900) / CoF (875) would be best, because CoF should be more valuable in longer fights.

      What do you think?

      Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, need a hand here please. I have healed off and on for years with one or the other of several Resto Druids I have. I also frequently (prior to Legion) heal with a Disc Priest (until Legion, now she is parked), a Mistweaver Monk (not 110 yet) and a couple of Resto Shamans (also not 110 yet).
I am a really good but not exceptional healer, though I am the strongest healer in the guild atm on most fights, not all. I am disabled, so I can't spend as much time online as I would like, so any help would be much appreciated.
My question is this: I use askmrrobot.com, icy veins and in game I also use Pawn. ALL of them disagree on stat weights and it is confusing me to tears! I was stacking mastery, now ask mr robot says crit > mastery on raid healing: auto. Mastery > Crit on raid healing: max heal. Crit > Mastery on Raid healing: Spread healing. And of course it all changes again for Mythic+. As my time online is VERY limited, I have very little gold and cannot afford to even buy a lot of the high end enchants and gems, etc, let alone change everything around repeatedly. Pawn shows one thing to be an upgrade, but even with the new 7.1.5 patch, askmrrobot will make me leave an 865 trinket with a great bonus on it in my bags in favor of an 835 trinket just because it has a socket and matches THEIR stat weights. Then I come here, which I used to use exclusively and they say, and I quote,
      1.1. Raid Healing
Intellect; Haste; Critical Strike; Mastery; Versatility. 1.2. Tank / Mythic+ Healing
Intellect; Haste; Mastery; Critical Strike; Versatility.
So my question is this, and I will follow with my current armory and healing style. WHAT stat weights do I go for and since I really truly SUCK at math and have NO clue how to change stat weights in Pawn or askmrrobot either one, can someone walk me through how to and what they should read to reflect the proper weights, so I can trust them and they agree please? I am 50 years old and this sim stuff is tough for me; I'm sorry. It's confusing for a beginner to sims and stat weights and I don't understand it or how to get the numbers I want it to reflect or what they should even be. Or how to make conversions... I am lost. My guild is small and we are STILL struggling with Heroic EN; can't get past Ursoc atm; he's a real bear... pun intended.  and Nighthold is a mess. Skorpyron is still kicking our butts there, and Helya in ToV... all on normal except for EN. I want to raid, I want to progress, and I want to improve my healing. It likely won't happen in this guild, not because we are bad, but because we do not have dedicated raiders every week. We end up pulling in far too many pugs, have a ridiculously long wipe recovery (stupid long, like 15 friggin' minutes each wipe) and it is just too casual to progress far, but some of us would like to and I want to do my part as well as be able to perhaps join some premade's and be a viable pick. Unless I do, my gear will not get better, as I have run EN normal a hundred times it seems, and there are no upgrades there.
I do not typically heal Mythic+'s anymore, because it seems MOST of the pugs I get into are horribad and I can't heal when interrupts don't happen, focusing down the right mobs first does not happen, positioning does not happen and no one seems to know the strats. Sometimes it is just a BAD tank. I do not have confidence in my heals because of some awful runs, and so I just don't go. We have an awesome Pally tank I trust to tank them, but he is seldom on and the guild really doesn't run much of anything together. So I have no set group to run with that I trust.
Atm my healing style is to always keep up two rejuvs on both tanks as well as lifebloom on the one currently taking threat and most damage, as well as Efflorescence of course, all while blanketing the raid with HoTs, Wild Growth and Flourish/artifact weapon talent. I also, of course, hit a tank taking or preparing to take, a lot of damage with Cenarion Ward and Ironbark. I really hate raid healing and much prefer tank healing, but I heal what needs to be healed while focusing as much as I can on tanks. I can't tell you our raid make-up as we have no set group; too much pugging. I will say that we usually always have two Resto Druids, and a Disc Priest, and sometimes we have our Shaman switch to heals or our Holy Paladin will make a rare appearance, or our Paladin tank will switch to heals. That is our base makeup, subject to no shows and pugs of course.
Here is my armory; please be gentle lol.  http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/ghostlands/Scamper/simple
I realize I have a lot of gems and enchants I need, and will start working on that as gold allows, and when I know WHAT to get! I will mention that I talked to a Resto Druid friend of mine from another server, Tsoula, who heals mythic raids and he said to pretty much balance haste crit and mastery as much as possible without worrying too much until I can get the cloak of shame from Kara, and the two set bonus, all of which require high crit, and then switch to stacking crit. Is he right?
I apologize for the length of this post and welsome all feedback, but please be kind. I run into enough unkind people in game. Thanks <3

      Hello,
I just wanted to share something that can greatly benefits resto druids. Maybe I'm just stating the obvious or the already well known but Vuhdo has a great feature that completely changed my resto gameplay. It's the hot minibars.

I play most of the time with germination, meaning I have 3 main hots to monitor: 2 rejuv (2 blue minibars), and 1 lifebloom (purple minibar). Efflorescence has already a visual effect making it easy to track and wild growth is not a hot you want to maintain.
This make tracking hots on your party/raid a piece of cake. You know exactly which hot is about to expire and you can anticipate refreshs, especially in those hard hitting mythic10+, making sure your tank is never running out of hots.
      Here's the minibars in action:
Here's the vuhdo profile, but you may simply play with the hot bar options and colors:
