BMH looking for advice to further improve self

Hello there,

I'm maining a Beast Mastery Hunter this expansion. I've always mained a healer previously so being (good at) DPS is a first for me. I feel like I've achieved as much as I can on my own wit. Hence why I would like to ask someone who's perhaps more seasoned in the class to take a look at my logs to see where there is still room for improvement.

From what i can see you are doing good on the rotation.

However from what i can see you are running with a pretty low mastery build. Perhaps consider replacing that neck and the 900 ring for example.

Alo the fury trinket isn't very powerful for bm. I would highly recommend going for the ursoc trinket since it is by far the best for bm.

 

Note:  Also noticed in on your guldan kill that you were running volley. From a dps perspective i would strongly reccommend that you go AMOC instead.

Hah, I equipped those two items this morning. I'm a bit limited in switching since my neck is my only socket. I have a decent alternative though. I can drop 6% haste for 11% extra mastery (and +2% crit), taking my mastery up to 77% and haste back to 19%. Alternatively I considered enchanting for Soldier instead of Satyr. Both cases are simulated as a dps loss in SimC though so I'm not sure.

Thanks for the other two pointers. I'll make that trinket a priority indeed!

yes satyr is not the best alternative anymore

 

Other than that improve ur gear and keep up the rotation :)

If you refer to my post about the BM soft cap, you'll see why focusing for purely 18-20% haste is all you need and the rest can go mastery.

Change your neck and go trained soldier, you'll end up with the right amount of haste and an absolute tonne more mastery. Claw can sim higher but it's rng based, trained soldier is just consistent dps.

You're doing mostly fine Taggerung, although with those legendaries and item level you could be doing probably about 750k on a fight like Gul'dan. You used Time Dilation 6 times so I assume they were correctly procced with Bestial Wrath and all. I don't see any crazy mistakes or anything, and 72% performance is not bad. 

The only thing I can notice is that you aren't cleaving as much as you should. You didn't hit Beast Cleave at all on phase 1, which is probably entirely not your fault if your tanks are not moving the adds together, but your Thunderslash was hitting two targets at some points where you weren't cleaving. You should basically cleave on every single add that spawns from Hand of Gul'dan (after he moves into melee range of Gul'dan of course), and every Empowered eye of Gul'dan as well (unless your tanks move Gul'dan away from the eye in phase 3). You should pretty much try to cleave on every enemy possible, especially if Bestial Wrath is on cooldown.

Your Haste is a bit low in my opinion but none of your gear looks bad. I don't particularly like that chest with versatility but given its item level it's probably the best you've got.

Realistically, the problem with that fight is that it lasted over 10 minutes; I legitimately thought it was a mythic kill because it went for so long! All my average kills are around 6 minutes; doesn't matter how good your dps or gear is the longer the fight the more your dps goes down; if it was a shorter fight you'd end up with a lot higher dps. Everything I saw was good, maybe a little more dps on the eyes from cleaving but everything else looked great!

Your armoury is showing you at 35% crit, 24% haste and 127% mastery so I can't really make much of a comment on your stats from that but it looks mostly fine!
