Cobalt Scalebane Card Reveal: Knights of the Frozen Throne

Cobalt Scalebane has been revealed. It is a Neutral Dragon minion. It is the forty-seventh card to be unveiled.

Cobalt Scalebane is a somewhat unremarkable card, except for the fact that it is a Dragon.

The stats of the card, and the effect, are likely too slow to be of long term use unless for some reason it is played in the same deck as a card with Stealth, such as Finja, the Flying Star. However, they are not that far behind the curve, and the fact that Cobalt Scalebane is also a Dragon could well be relevant in the future, especially when Drakonid Operative rotates out of Standard.

For a full list of previously revealed cards, as well as all of the information about the new expansion, check out our Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion hub.

Prime arena material. Having it trigger once is ''essentially'' the same as a 8/5 for 5 spread over two bodies. Over-time value generators have historically not been all that great in constructed however, but it does have that dragon tag, which is neato. Doesn't really fit into any of the current decks, so it's hard to tell where it will, if at all.

I can see it doing beautifully when drafted for Paladin in Arena. Unless you're a mage, those tokens are gonna be super hard to remove.

Yeah ok goodbye arena. If constructed remains the same SMOrcfest, I will switch to solo adventures I guess.

As Oxy said, the card is not good enough for constructed, but way too good for arena.
Making it "at the start of the turn" rather than end would be better for arena health imo, but again, it's not a reality yet, so maybe I'm just unnecessarily pessimistic.

      Jump into Hearthstone's tenth expansion!
The last expansion of the Year of the Raven is now live in all regions and we have compiled everything you need to know about it!
Rastakhan's Rumble introduces the new Overkill keyword and two different types of class cards - Spirits (Rare) and Loa (Legendary). As usual, each class will have two Legendaries: a Loa and the class Champion. The whole thematic of the expansion is that each class is a team of their own, so most class cards synergise well with each other. You can find all of the 135 cards revealed in our dedicated expansion hub.

Upon logging in, you will receive a bunch of free stuff. You will get one of the nine Legendary Loa, as well as two Spirits from the same class. You will also get 6 Rastakhan's Rumble packs for free - and an additional one if you participated in the voting that took place on the official site. These rewards won't be around forever, so grab them during the expansion's launch period!
The Rumble Run is the single-player adventure mode that accompanies this expansion. It will be released in 9 days from today, on December 13.
Don't forget to share your best pack openings, as well as some week 1 crazy decks that you like!
