Icy Veins Black Friday Giveaway!

Recommended Posts

1. I feel mostly positive towards the game as of late, as I have been a solo player on and off for years after stopping raiding at the end of WOTLK. I log in, level some alts, do some LRG or LFR and kill some time.

2. I'd be all about Hogwarts Legacy coverage when more info starts to come out on it! (Hearthstone would be nice as well!)

  1. How do you feel about WoW lately; are you playing more or less than you used to?

I'm ok with it lately and am playing more than I used to, considering that I took a lengthy hiatus a while back.  I do have present gripes and grievances, mostly with the narrative and also with certain management.

I have absolutely despised Sylbarfas Windfarter.  Her story is despicable.  She is the unequivocal sum of all things hated, and this redemption arc or whatever it is they're force feeding us to make us more forgiving towards her is literally nauseating.  Her character needs to be granted permanent death, never to be seen or heard from again in any way, shape or form.  Period.

I'd like to see a few job changes for certain people in management.

Kotick should resign in the best interest of all.  That he's even trying to hold on to his position and believes he can fix things is the height of ego.  The pay cut stunt was embarrassing.  Every word he speaks, every memo he writes, every sentiment he expresses is 100% desperation fueled PR fodder.  Kotick has all the authenticity of a three dollar bill.  For Yogg's sake man, how does this guy not realize it's best that he just GO.

I think Ion should respectfully be given a different position.  He has value to contribute, but 'game director' isn't for him, in my view.

Steve Danuser needs to be immediately assigned to a different position within the company and have emphatically zero influence or authority over the narrative, ever, ever, ever again.  I only stop just short of thinking he should be outright terminated.  Assign him to some sort of petty position and let him rot in it.

  1. What's the number one game title that you'd like to see Icy Veins cover in the future?

World of Warcraft is the only game I play, so I can't really give you any worthwhile answer to this question aside from the obvious; that being, I want to see you continue to cover WoW.

___

I appreciate you guys and the site.  Giveaways like this are fun, so I'll try to participate whenever I see them.

1. How do you feel about WoW lately; are you playing more or less than you used to?

I've been playing WoW less that I used to, but it'd be unfair to blame the game for it. I still love it very much, but between the release of Diablo II, Season 24 of Diablo III, and the Diablo Immortal Beta, pretty much all of my gaming time is filled. It's one of those situations where the old "it's not you, it's me" phrase is actually truthful!

2. What's the number one game title that you'd like to see Icy Veins cover in the future?

It'd be awesome to see more coverage of Diablo Immortal stuff once it releases. And no, it's not because I love Diablo and all. I'm completely unbiased, I promise! 😄

How do you feel about WoW lately; are you playing more or less than you used to?

Last time I played felt kinda... tired? At the start of the expansion I really had fun but guess tiredness from Nsoth and BfA was too much and stopped playing until now. Now I'm just doing chill thing like old achievements, farming mounts, old quests, reputations... And I'm enjoying it. Guess I just felt burned.

What's the number one game title that you'd like to see Icy Veins cover in the future?

Mmmmm. Maybe the untitled LoL MMO. MMOs feel like it.

I just came back and am enjoying my time. I have plans to get back into raiding but for now am just grinding mounts/pets and taking it easy. I don't feel WoW has the allure it had previously, but we have had bad periods before and recovered (looking at you WoD). I do feel the real world side of things with the lawsuits and company is a factor in current player counts and I hope to see Blizzard address and solve those issues.

  2. What's the number one game title that you'd like to see Icy Veins cover in the future?
World of Warcraft. If I have to pick a new game I will go with AOE4, I think strategy and build for RTS games could be a good addition.

1. Honestly I'm very much in a WoW rut. I'm not accomplishing anything. I haven't run dungeons since all my friends left the game. I just feel so disappointed by Shadowlands. I had more hope for this expansion than I had when I came back to the game in Legion.

2. I think a good fit for Icy-veins might be any of the survival/crafting games such as Subnautica or Raft.

  • How do you feel about WoW lately; are you playing more or less than you used to?

I am definitely playing more than I was just before Covid, because I rejoined WoW that winter, and have been having a blast as I recruited my housemate to it and she is really loving the Legion content (which, I'm side betting, means we'll be doing some timewalking when that hits).

There was a time when my mom & dad had basically 100% retired to Azeroth.  I'm not playing quite that much.

I think I'd enjoy seeing more about people making the transition from Enthusiastic Casual to First Stage Raider.   I mean yes, "here's some good soulbinds" definitely useful, and where to find the gear, how to get used to the right mdos for it sure.  More about the people side of making the transition though.

I think there's a great exhilaration in beating a boss who definitely deserves the work people are putting in.  Definitely I feel it while watching the World Firsts make the race.

This said, I'm certainly enjoying as it already stands, super useful, I'm pleased to be able to support the site I've enjoyed for so many years.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
