Character Overview
Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae is a powerful Imaginary damage dealer who specialises in dealing Blast damage while also being capable of dealing significant damage to single targets. Unlike many DPS characters who rely heavily on ATK buffs, much of his strength comes from his enhanced Basic ATKs, which can be upgraded multiple times by consuming Skill Points. His playstyle revolves around managing Skill Points carefully and deciding how much you want to invest into each turn. The more Skill Points you spend, the stronger his Enhanced Basic ATK becomes, with his fully enhanced attack delivering a huge amount of damage and Toughness reduction.
This incredible damage potential does come with a major drawback, though, as Dan Heng IL can be extremely demanding when it comes to Skill Point management. Teams built around him need to generate enough Skill Points to consistently support his enhanced attacks, meaning his teammates and overall rotation are particularly important. He also has several built-in CRIT and DMG buffs, allowing him to perform well without needing as much extra support for his personal damage. While newer DPS characters have made it harder for him to remain worth using, he can still be a strong character when paired with the right team.
Kit Overview
Dan Heng IL's kit is centred around his Enhanced Basic ATK, which can be strengthened up to three times by using his Skill. Each enhancement increases the number of hits and significantly improves the attack's damage.
- 1 Enhancement: The attack hits 3 times, dealing up to 260% of his ATK to the main target.
- 2 Enhancements: The attack hits 5 times, dealing up to 380% of his ATK to the main target,
while the final hits also deal Blast damage. - 3 Enhancements: The attack hits 7 times, dealing up to 500% of his ATK to the main target,
with additional damage dealt to adjacent enemies.
His maximum enhancement provides an enormous amount of damage in a single attack, making it the main source of his damage. However, using the highest enhancement consumes a large amount of Skill Points, so maintaining a steady supply throughout the fight is essential. His Enhanced Basic ATKs also deal increasing amounts of Energy and Toughness damage depending on the enhancement level. At the highest level, he can deal a huge amount of Toughness damage, making him particularly effective against enemies with an Imaginary weakness. The additional Energy gained also helps him work towards his 140 Energy Ultimate.
Dan Heng IL's Ultimate deals strong damage to a primary target and nearby enemies before granting him Squama Sacrosancta stacks. These stacks can be consumed instead of Skill Points when enhancing his Basic ATK, helping reduce the pressure he places on the team's Skill Point economy. His Ultimate can provide up to two stacks normally, with additional benefits available through his Eidolons.
His Talent, Righteous Heart, further increases his damage during his turn. He gains stacks whenever individual hits from his attacks connect, meaning his multi-hit Enhanced Basic ATKs allow him to build these bonuses particularly quickly. Higher enhancements therefore improve both his direct damage and the additional benefits provided by his Talent.
His stronger Enhanced Basic ATKs also activate Outroar, which grants CRIT DMG increases as he continues attacking. These additional buffs further increase the damage of his enhanced attacks and can potentially benefit his Ultimate if it is used during the same turn.
The Bonus Traces provide additional support and damage, including extra Energy at the beginning of battle, increased resistance to Crowd Control effects and additional CRIT DMG when attacking Imaginary Weak enemies. Overall, Dan Heng IL's kit is built around one simple idea, the more Skill Points you can invest into his turn, the harder he can hit. The challenge is making sure the rest of the team can keep up with his demanding Skill Point requirements while still providing the buffs and support he needs.
