Thus Burns the Dawn

The wearer's base SPD increases by 12 / 14 / 16 / 18 / 20. When dealing DMG, ignores 18.0 / 22.5 / 27.0 / 31.5 / 36.0% of the target's DEF. After the wearer uses Ultimate, gains "Blazing Sun," which is removed at the start of the turn. While holding "Blazing Sun," increases the wearer's DMG dealt by 60.0 / 78.0 / 96.0 / 114.0 / 132.0%.

Thus Burns the Dawn is a 5-star Light Cone which increases Arlan's speed and ignores a portion of the target's DEF when dealing damage. In addition, when Arlan uses his ultimate, damage in general is increased by a further amount up to 132% at S5. This is a great choice for Arlan as each time his ultimate is used he will gain a significant amount of extra damage.

A Trail of Bygone Blood

Increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 12.0 / 14.0 / 16.0 / 18.0 / 20.0%. The Skill DMG and Ultimate DMG dealt by the wearer increase by 24.0 / 28.0 / 32.0 / 36.0 / 40.0%.

This 4-star Light Cone is another good choice for Arlan as it enhances his Crit Rate up to 20% and increases damage dealt by his skill and ultimate up to 40%. This is a good choice when trying to increase his Crit Rate and trying to hit that 70% Crit Rate mark for his planar set Rutilant.

The Unreachable Side

Increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 18.0 / 21.0 / 24.0 / 27.0 / 30.0% and increases their Max HP by 18.0 / 21.0 / 24.0 / 27.0 / 30.0%. When the wearer is attacked or consumes their own HP, their DMG increases by 24.0 / 28.0 / 32.0 / 36.0 / 40.0%. This effect is removed after the wearer uses an attack.

The Unreachable Side helps to increase Arlan's Crit Rate as well as increases his overall max HP. When Arlan is attacked by an enemy or consumes HP, this Light Cone will increase his damage for that attack. 4-Piece Set: Increases DMG dealt by Skill and Ultimate by 20.0%. After using Ultimate, additionally increases the DMG dealt by the next Skill by 25.0%.

The Scholar 4-piece Set is a great option for Arlan, increasing his overall Crit Rate as well as his damage when he uses his skill or ultimate. In addition, after using his ultimate this then further increases his skill by an additional 25% the next time it's used.

Longevous Disciple

2-Piece Set: Increases Max HP by 12.0%.

4-Piece Set: When the wearer is hit or has their HP consumed by an ally or themselves, their CRIT Rate increases by 8.0% for 2 turn(s) and up to 2 stacks.

Longevous Disciple is a 4-piece set that increases Max HP as well as Crit Rate. Crit Rate is increased through the loss of HP either from an enemy hit or if they consume their own HP or by an ally. This is a great set for Arlan as he loses HP through the use of his skill and gaining as much Crit as possible is what he wants in order to perform at his best.

2-Piece Set: Increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 8.0%. When the wearer's current CRIT Rate reaches 70.0% or higher, DMG dealt by Basic ATK and Skill increases by 20.0%.

Rutilant Arena further increases Arlan's Crit Rate and when his Crit Rate is above 70% any damage from his basic attack or his skill is increased by 20% allowing him to deal even more damage.

Firmament Frontline: Glamoth

2-Piece Set: Increases the wearer's ATK by 12.0%. When the wearer's SPD is equal to or higher than 135/160, the wearer deals 12.0%/18.0% more DMG.

If you don't have Rutilant, this is another good option for Arlan. It increases his attack by 12% and when his SPD is equal to or higher than 135/160 he will deal additional damage to enemies.

Character Overview

Arlan is a DPS character who focuses mainly on single-target damage. He consumes his own HP to deal large amounts damage through his Skill up to 240% of his ATK to an enemy. Unlike many DPS characters, he can continue to attack enemies without consuming Skill Points, making him very SP efficient. To maximise his performance, Arlan benefits greatly from building on Crit Rate and Crit DMG stats.

As Arlan's damage scales with how low his HP becomes, allies who can provide Crit buffs, shielding or enemy aggro are especially valuable. Defensive allies that draw enemy attention away from Arlan can help prevent him from being defeated and knocked down while he fights at low health, enabling him to maintain his damage output safely.

Team Building Tips

Arlan performs best with allies who can keep him alive through shielding and support rather than excessive healing, allowing him to deal high damage while maintaining the low HP thresholds his kit depends on. He also benefits greatly from teammates who provide supportive buffs such as increased CRIT, damage amplification and damage reduction, further enhancing both his survivability and overall damage output.

E6 – Self-Sacrifice When Arlan's HP is below 50% his Ultimate will deal an additional 20% DMG and the DMG multiplier for surrounding enemies is increased to be the same as the targeted enemy.
E2 – Breaking Free After Arlan uses his skill or ultimate, it removes 1 debuff from himself.
E4 – Turn the Tables After receiving a fatal hit when entering a battle, Arlan will immediately restore 25% of his max HP therefore giving him another chance in battle.
