Gunslinger PvP Awakening Skills

All characters have the choice to pick one of two Awakening abilities to use. These are Ultimate skills that can be used only once in a match in PvP — do not be fooled by the cooldown, as even if the cooldown expires mid-match, your Awakening skill cannot be used a second time, which means that you need to learn how to use that skill efficiently.

Gunslinger PvP Awakening

All characters have the choice to pick one of two Awakening abilities to use. These are "Ultimate" skills that can be used only once in a match - do not be fooled by their cooldown, as even if the cooldown expires mid-match they cannot be used a second time.

1.1.

Eye of Twilight

Eye of Twilight Icon Eye of Twilight is Gunslinger's first Awakening. It's used for dealing heavy burst to a single target, though it also does moderate damage to any additional targets caught in its range.

Gunslinger Awakening High-Caliber HE Bullet

Gunslinger instantly applies the Eye of Twilight debuff upon activation to the closest target, reducing movement speed by 80% and attack speed by 40% for three seconds. After two seconds Gunslinger does a quickdraw dealing massive damage to the debuffed target. Non-debuffed targets still take damage but it is greatly reduced to about 1/3 of the damage done to the original target. The debuff is removed upon being hit making it mostly inconsequential as you would only be able to make use of the debuff if the Awakening didn't hit.

Eye of Twilight can be comboed into from Spiral Tracker Icon Spiral Tracker or AT02 Grenade Icon AT02 Grenade. Comboing from Spiral Tracker Icon Spiral Tracker must be done very early into the combo or else the enemy will trigger forced Push from Scales proc as a result of being in hit-stun too long and be able to roll out. Comboing from AT02 Grenade Icon AT02 Grenade needs to be done as soon as possible and Gunslinger cannot be too close when applying Hard CC or the enemy will break out of freeze in time to use space dash to get out. This is because AT02 Grenade Icon AT02 Grenade has a travel time, so the further away, the longer it takes for the Hard CC to apply, which means it will also expire later.

Missing Eye of Twilight

Eye of Twilight can be used early in the match to burst down low defense classes such as Bard so a 3v2 is forced. Saving the Awakening for Burst buff is high risk, high reward option. If Eye of Twilight crits it can do upwards of 100k to lower defence classes and potentially one-shot.

This Awakening should be taken when fighting low defence/health classes where a lot of value can be gained through focusing them down and killing them quickly to force an advantageous situation for the team (e.g. Bard).

High-Caliber HE Bullet

High-Caliber HE Bullet Icon High-Caliber HE Bullet is Gunslinger's second Awakening. It's the more common of the two Awakening's due to having more general use and extra utility.

The damage is decent but it needs to hit multiple targets to compare to the damage of hitting a single target with Eye of Twilight. The main benefit of this Awakening is its massive range, Push application on the bullet and AoE capability, making it much easier to catch and burst multiple targets at once.

Gunslinger jumps back and fires an explosive shell that explodes on contact into a large cone shaped AoE. The hitbox of the skill does not match the visuals and is bigger than what is shown.

Gunslinger Awakening High-Caliber HE Bullet

HE Bullet can be comboed into very easily, though using it for damage on a single target is usually not worth it unless it will kill and the momentum from said kill can be capitalised on.

The best use of HE Bullet is to prevent Gunslinger being peeled when comboing, as the AoE of the Awakening will hit both whoever is being comboed and anyone who comes in to support the enemy, potentially knocking them down and forcing out a roll. In niche situations HE Bullet can also be used as a long ranged damage skill, either off a teammates combo when the enemy has no roll or as a high risk snipe to finish of low health targets when the match is close to ending.
