On this page, you will find out the optimal PvE stat priority for your Mistweaver Monk in Mists of Pandaria Classic. We first present the stat priority, before delving into more complex explanations.

1.

Stat Priority for Mistweaver Monk

The stat priority for Mistweaver Monk is as follows:

  1. Intellect;
  2. Spirit (minimum 5100, the rest to comfort);
  3. Haste (to a breakpoint);
  4. Critical Strike;
  5. Haste;
  6. Mastery.
1.1.

Intellect

Intellect is the primary stat for Mistweaver Monks. It increases the effectiveness of all our damage and healing spells, and also increases the throughput of our melee attacks via Stance of the Wise Serpent Icon Stance of the Wise Serpent converting our spell power into attack power.

1.2.

Spirit

Spirit increases your Mana Regeneration, allowing you to sustain yourself throughout an encounter. Mistweavers specifically have a unique relationship with Spirit when compared to other healers, as we regenerate a large portion of our Mana through Mana Tea Icon Mana Tea. As you get more comfortable with Mistweaver, you may find yourself relying on Spirit less and less as a means of Mana Regeneration. As such, Spirit is a stat that can largely be left up to personal preference.

The exception to this, however, is that you will never want to go below 5100 Spirit. Stance of the Wise Serpent Icon Stance of the Wise Serpent converts 50% of our Spirit into both Hit and Expertise, and 5100 rating is the minimum to ensure our abilities never miss.

Haste Rating

Haste is an incredibly powerful stat for Mistweaver, so long as we are reaching particular breakpoints that add extra ticks to our HoTs. The following are the notable break points you can aim for:

Spell Breakpoint Breakpoint w/ 5% Raid buff
Renewing Mist Icon Renewing Mist 1578 154
Enveloping Mist Icon Enveloping Mist 2348 887
Renewing Mist Icon Renewing Mist 4719 3145
Enveloping Mist Icon Enveloping Mist 7062 5376
Renewing Mist Icon Renewing Mist 7864 6141
Renewing Mist Icon Renewing Mist 11033 9158

It should be noted that these ratings are the values you need without the haste bonus from Stance of the Wise Serpent Icon Stance of the Wise Serpent. Reforging to hit these targets should be done while in Stance of the Fierce Tiger Icon Stance of the Fierce Tiger.

Realistically, you will only really care about hitting your Renewing Mist Icon Renewing Mist breakpoints as Enveloping Mist Icon Enveloping Mist should be a lower percentage of your casts. Beyond these breakpoints, while Haste is still a strong stat, it falls behind the efficiency of Crit.

1.4.

Critical Strike

Critical Strikes causes your spells and abilities to do double healing/damage. For Mistweaver Monks in particular, Critical Strike also increases our Mana generation in the form of proccing extra Mana Tea Icon Mana Tea stacks.

1.5.

Mastery

Our Mastery causes us to spawn healing orbs on the ground. Any player who runs over these orbs will be healed for a small amount, and any orbs that expire before being collected will heal a nearby ally for 50% of its normal amount.

Unfortunately, this is an exceptionally weak stat. Raiders will rarely be looking to run all over the place trying to pick up your orbs, so most of them will naturally expire, which cuts the value of every point of Mastery you have in half. It is also the only stat we have that does not increase your damage, and therefore your Eminence Icon Eminence healing. Avoid this Stat wherever possible.
