Mists of Pandaria Classic Mistweaver Monk Spell Summary
On this page, we present you with all spells and procs that you need to understand as a Mistweaver Monk in Mists of Pandaria Classic.
Mistweaver Monk Spells, Cooldowns and Abilities
Mistweaver Mistweaver Monk is a powerful
melee range healer that converts our damage into healing through our passive
Eminence.
There is a strong emphasis on proactive gameplay for Mistweavers, as our largest
throughput abilities require some setup and forethought.
Rotational Spells
Most of Mistweaver's toolkit can be divided into either Chi builders or Chi spenders.
Chi Builders
Jab — Deals moderate damage, generates 1 Chi and grants you
Muscle Memory;
Expel Harm — Heals yourself for a small amount and deals 50% of the amount healed in damage to a nearby enemy. Generates 1 Chi.
Crackling Jade Lightning — A channelled spell that deals low damage every tick, and has a 30% chance to generate 1 Chi per tick. If the enemy you are casting this on attacks you while you are channelling, they will be knocked back.
Soothing Mist — Channels a heal on a target that heals for a moderate amount over 8 seconds and has a 30% chance to generate 1 Chi every time it ticks. Additionally, you can cast both
Surging Mist and
Enveloping Mist instantly on your Soothing Mist target without interrupting the cast.
Surging Mist — Heals a single target for a large amount and generates 1 Chi.
Renewing Mist — Applies a HoT with 3 stacks to your target. Each time Renewing Mist heals, it will lose a stack and jump to the nearest injured ally within 20 yards.
Chi Spenders
Tiger Palm — Deals moderate damage to a single target and buffs you with
Tiger Power, causing you to ignore 30% of your target's armor. Costs 1 Chi.
Blackout Kick — Deals moderate damage to a single target, and 50% of that damage to up to 4 nearby enemies. It also grants you the buff
Serpent's Zeal, which causes you and your
Summon Jade Serpent Statue to convert your Auto-Attack damage into healing as well. Costs 2 Chi.
Enveloping Mist — Places a HoT on your target, healing them for a very large amount over 6 seconds. Can be cast while channelling
Soothing Mist. Costs 3 Chi.
Uplift — Heals all friendly target buffed by your
Renewing Mist for a moderate amount. Costs 2 Chi.
Cooldowns
Revival — Instantly heals group members within 100 yards for a large amount, and removes all harmful Magical, Poison, and Disease effects.
Life Cocoon — Places a large absorption shield on your target, and increases the HoT healing they receive by 50% while the shield holds.
Thunder Focus Tea — Technically a Chi spender, this cooldown allows you to augment your next
Surging Mist or
Uplift cast: Surging Mist will heal for 100% more, while Uplift will refresh the duration of your active
Renewing Mist HoTs. Costs 1 Chi.
Touch of Death — Again, another Chi spender, this ability will allow you to instantly kill any target so long as their current Health is lower than your maximum Health. This damage does get converted into healing through
Eminence. Costs 3 Chi.
Zen Meditation — Causes you to take 90% less damage and redirects five harmful spells cast at your group members to you instead. Does not work on AoE spells (functions exactly like
Grounding Totem). Melee attacks against you will cancel this effect.
Utility Spells
Spear Hand Strike — Interrupts an enemy spellcast. Also applies a 2 second silence if the target was facing you.
Detox — Removes all harmful Magic, Poison, and Disease effect from a friendly target
Disable — Slows a target by 50% for 15s. When this effect expires, if you are within 10 yards of the target, it will automatically refresh. Recasting this ability on a target that is already slowed will root them for 8 seconds instead.
Fortifying Brew — Increases your Health by 20% and reduces the damage you take by 20%.
Grapple Weapon — This is a disarm effect with a 40 yard range.
Legacy of the Emperor — Buffs you and your group, increasing your Strength, Agility, and Intellect by 5%.
Mana Tea — Consumes Mana Tea stacks from
Brewing: Mana Tea, restoring 5% of your total Mana per stack consumed. This is a channelled ability and will consume stacks at a rate of 1 stack every 0.5 seconds. You gain a Mana Tea stack for every 4 Chi you consume, and have a chance equal to your Critical Strike to generate 2 instead.
Nimble Brew — Removes all stuns, roots, fears, and horrors from your character and reduces the duration of subsequent CCs by 60% for 6 seconds.
Paralysis — Incapacitates a target for 40 seconds. If applied to the target while behind them, the duration is increased by 50%. Enemy NPCs that are paralyzed will not aggro you if you step within their aggro radius
Provoke — Taunts the target, forcing them to attack you for 3 seconds and increasing its movement speed by 50% for 8 seconds.
Resuscitate — Resurrects a fallen friendly player to 35% HP.
Reawaken — Resurrects all dead allies within 100 yards. Cannot be used if a member of your group is in combat.
Roll — Quickly moves you roughly 15 yards forward. By default roll will send you forward, but otherwise it will move you in the direction of whichever directional key you are holding (W,A,S,D).
Summon Jade Serpent Statue — Allows you to place a statue at a specified location that lasts for 15 minutes. This statue will cast
Soothing Mist at 50% effectiveness on your current Soothing Mist target. It will also replicate all your
Eminence healing onto the most injured ally within 20 yards of the statue.
Transcendence — Allows you to place a ghost of yourself at a location, lasting for 15 minutes. Pressing
Transcendence: Transfer will allow you to swap places with your ghost after a short 0.5s cast. Wandering more than 100 yards away from your ghost will cause it to despawn.
Zen Pilgrimage — Allows you to teleport to the Peak of Serenity in Kun-lai Summmet. Reactivating this ability will teleport you back to your starting location.
Mistweaver Monk Stances
While Mistweavers have access to multiple stances, we will only ever realistically use
Stance of the Wise Serpent. One might think that you could hop into
Stance of the Fierce Tiger to generate some quick Chi for 0 Mana, but swapping
back and forth between stances removes all but 1 Chi. There may be some extremely niche
situation where you could swap to Tiger Stance for the 10% movement speed increase,
but we are already so mobile that this does not seem likely.
