Lucia Guide & Best Builds

Welcome to our Lucia build guide for Zenless Zone Zero. Lucia is a useful S-Rank Ether Support Agent who provides a variety of buffs. Her kit is tailored to primarily support Rupture Agents. In our guide, we will cover everything you need to know to get the most out of your Lucia, from building the best Drive Discs and W-Engines, to important stat priorities and combos.

Lucia's Best W-Engines

Listed below are Lucia's best W-Engines. While W-Engines are listed in a priority order, what is best to build can vary slightly depending on your team composition or account funding.

Dreamlit Hearth
Moontide Epic
The equipper's Energy Regen increases by 0.4/0.46/0.52/0.58/0.64/s. When the equipper activates Ether Veil or extends its duration, all squad members gain 25/28.8/32.5/36.3/40% increased DMG and 15/17.3/19.5/21.8/24% increased Max HP for 45s. Repeated triggers reset the duration. Only one instance of this effect can exist in the same squad.
Lucia's signature W-Engine is the best. It provides everything her kit needs: more HP, Energy Regen, and increased buff effects for Ether Veil. If you are looking to maximize on Darkbreaker's 24,000 HP threshold, this W-Engine is highly recommended.
Weeping Cradle
Punishment
While off-field, the equipper's Energy Regen increases by 0.6/0.75/0.9/1.05/1.2/s. Attacks from the equipper increase all units' DMG against a struck target by 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% for 3 seconds. During this period, this effect is further increased by 1.7/2/2.5/3/3.3% every 0.5s, up to a maximum additional increase of 10.2/12/15/18/19.8%. Repeated triggers only refresh the duration without refreshing the DMG increase effect. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
If you are looking for an S-Rank alternative, try Weeping Cradle. Lucia deals Aftershock attacks every 8s, which can increase all agents' DMG for 3s with this W-Engine. In addition, Lucia will also get increased Energy Regen when off-field.
The Vault
Money-Lover
Dealing Ether DMG using an EX Special Attack, Chain Attack, or Ultimate increases all units' DMG against the target by 15/17.5/20/22/24% and increases the equipper's Energy Regen by 0.5/0.58/0.65/0.72/0.8/s for 2s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
Your best F2P option is The Vault. This W-Engine provides Energy Regen for Lucia, while increasing all Agents' DMG in general.
Unfettered Game Ball
Game Start!
Whenever the equipper's attack triggers an Attribute Counter effect, all units' CRIT Rate against the struck enemy increases by 12/13.5/15.5/17.5/20% for 12s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
Another great option is Unfettered Game Ball. If Lucia's Ether type matches the enemy's weakness, all Agents receive bonus CRIT Rate. This is primarily useful in Yixuan teams, but otherwise, consider other W-Engines instead. This W-Engine is also New Eridu City Fund exclusive.

Best Drive Discs for Lucia

Moonlight Lullaby
2-Piece Set: Energy Regen +20%
4-Piece Set: When the equipper is a Support character and uses an EX Special Attack or Ultimate, the DMG dealt by all squad members increases by 18% for 25s. Repeated triggers reset the duration. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
Lucia's best 4-piece set is Moonlight Lullaby. It provides Lucia extra Energy Regen and also increased DMG for every Agent whenever she uses EX Special Attack: Symphony of the Reaper - Daybreak or Ultimate: Charge, Great Armor!.

2-Piece Recommendations include:

  • Swing Jazz
  • Yunkui Tales
Lucia's best 2-piece set is Swing Jazz, as it provides extra Energy Regen that her kit needs.

However, you can also consider Yunkui Tales for the extra HP. If you are trying to build for EX Special Attack: Symphony of the Reaper - Daybreak's Darkbreaker, prioritize Yunkui Tales instead.

Swing Jazz
2-Piece Set: Energy Regen +20%
4-Piece Set: Launching a Chain Attack or Ultimate increases all squad members' DMG by 15% for 12s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
If the team already has another Support Agent on Moonlight Lullaby, this is a great alternative for Lucia to use.

2-Piece Recommendations include:

  • Moonlight Lullaby
  • Yunkui Tales
There is not much different with the previous recommendation, as the priority is the same. Prioritize Yunkui Tales to maximize on EX Special Attack: Symphony of the Reaper - Daybreak's Darkbreaker.

Lucia's Stat Priority

Disc 4: HP % / CRIT Rate
Disc 5: HP %
Disc 6: HP % / Energy Regen
Substats: HP % > CRIT DMG > CRIT Rate > HP > ATK % > ATK

When building Lucia, prioritize up to 24,000 HP first. The higher your HP is, the better EX Special Attack: Symphony of the Reaper - Daybreak becomes. This is fairly difficult to achieve, so you can balance other stats to improve her personal DMG instead.

Lucia's Skill Priority

Skill Priority: > > > > =

Lucia's most important skill to level is her Core skill since it increases all Agents' DMG when activated. Prioritize her Special Attack next to improve the Sheer Force increase. Follow up with building her Ultimate, Basic Attack, Assist, and Dodge in order.

How to Play Lucia

Lucia's general gameplay revolves around building Dream Points and maintaining squad-wide buffs attained from her Dream state. There is a lot of terminology with Lucia's skills, so let's break it down.

Whim and Harmony Attacks

You can split Lucia's skills into two categories: Whim attacks and Harmony attacks.

Whim Harmony
  • Basic Attack: Orbital Combo (5th Hit Only)
  • Dodge Counter: Stardust Echo (Every 5s)
  • Special Attack: Symphony of the Reaper - Storm (Every 5s)
  • Quick Assist: Crushing Mist (Every 5s)
  • EX Special Attack: Symphony of the Reaper - Daybreak
  • Chain Attack: Stage of Brilliance
  • Ultimate: Charge, Great Armor!
  • Assist Follow-Up: Harmony of Painted Dreams

Whims are skills that generate Dream Points, which are accumulated to enable Lucia's Dream state. Harmonies are skills enabling Darkbreaker, a buff that increases both HP, Sheer Force, and various sources of damage. Harmony skills also deal 70% of Lucia's maximum HP as additional DMG.

When Lucia is in the Dream state and she attacks with Whims, the skills will be upgraded and considered as Harmony. These skill upgrades will also enable Darkbreaker, same as the Harmony skills listed above.

Dream Points and Dream State

Lucia's Dream state is how she provides buffs and additional damage to her squad in combat. To enter the state, Lucia requires Dream Points, which she can accumulate from attacking with her kit. She must be on the field in order to generate Dream Points.

Thanks to Core Passive: Lost Nocturne, Lucia immediately begins with 60 Dream Points upon entering battle. She requires 100 Dream Points to enter the Dream state. To generate Dream Points, Lucia needs to use either Whim or Harmony. The following outlines how each type works:

Whim Harmony
  • Normal: Generates Dream Points
  • In Dream State: Consumes 25 Dream Points to Skill Upgrade, Does not generate Dream Points
  • Normal: Generates Dream Points
  • In Dream State: Does not generate Dream Points

Once Lucia reaches 100 Dream Points from attacking, she will immediately enter the Dream state. This state ends when she reaches 0 Dream Points, or her Dream state buff Ether Veil: Wellspring, naturally ends. She cannot generate any Dream Points while in the Dream state.

To consume Dream Points while under the Dream state, Lucia must deal damage (either by skills or Aftershock). Aftershock DMG is enabled while Lucia is in the Dream state and is off-field, and this happens every 8s. After four attacks (skills or Aftershocks), or 32s, her Dream state will end. For more information, consult Core Passive: Lost Nocturne.

Lucia's Buffs

Lucia primarily provides three buffs, all with different activation conditions, buffs, and Mindscape Cinema bonuses:

Buff Name Activation Condition(s) Effect(s)
Darkbreaker
  • Activated by Harmony attacks
  • Base Duration of 20s; Repeated triggers reset duration
  • Increases Sheer Force (with additional increases via Lucia's maximum HP: up to 24,000 HP)
  • Increases Final DMG by a percentage of maximum HP (via EX Special Attack: Symphony of the Reaper - Daybreak)
  • Increases 30% CRIT DMG (via Additional Ability: Ballad of the Long Night)
  • M2: Increases Sheer DMG by 15% in Ether Veil: Wellspring (via Great Magician)
Ether Veil: Wellspring
  • Activated by entering Dream state (via 100 Dream Points)
  • Base duration of 40s; Repeated triggers extend duration up to 300s
  • Increases squad's maximum HP by 5%
  • M2: Increases Harmony DMG by 15% (via Great Magician)
  • M4: Gives 100 Decibels to all squad members (via Late-Night Hours)
  • M6: Increases ATK by 2% of Lucia's initial maximum HP (via The Never-Ending Journey)
  • M6: Makes all Harmony attacks have guaranteed CRIT Rate and increased CRIT DMG by 30% (via The Never-Ending Journey)
Dreamer's Nursery Rhyme
  • Activated by triggering skill upgrades or Aftershocks, must be in the Dream state (via 100 Dream Points)
  • Base duration of 12s; Repeated triggers reset duration
  • M1: Provides Echo stacks (via Dream's skill upgrades), up to 4 times. Will automatically consume 1 Echo stack to re-apply buff when duration ends.
  • Increases squad's DMG dealt (via Core Passive: Lost Nocturne)
  • M1: Ignores 18% of enemy's All-Attribute RES (via Secret Friend)
  • M1: Increases Decibel Generation Rate by 5% (via Secret Friend)

Notably, Darkbreaker is a buff Lucia can apply outside of the Dream state. Otherwise, she must be in the Dream state to apply Ether Veil or Dreamer's Nursery Rhyme. If you have Secret Friend, Lucia can re-apply the buff without the Dream state active.

It is important for Lucia to keep these buffs up for as long as possible, but the maintenance part is relatively simple. If Lucia's not in her Dream state, prioritize attacking with Basic Attack: Orbital Combo or her various skills. If Dream state is active, keep Lucia off-field for about 30s, where she will deal Aftershock DMG and refresh all three buffs. Once Dream state ends, switch back to Lucia and generate Dream Points again.

Lucia's Best Mindscapes

How much to invest in Lucia's Mindscape Cinema depends whether or not you have agents who use Sheer Force. Lucia has many decent Mindscape Cinema upgrades, but if you want the best quality-of-life improvement, you should only invest up to her Secret Friend.
The Echo stacks essentially allow Lucia to maintain Dreamer's Nursery Rhyme (from Core Passive: Lost Nocturne) even after leaving the Dream state. The less time Lucia needs to re-build Dream Points, the more time your active agents can deal damage.

If you have an account with several Rupture agents, you can also consider investing in Great Magician. The Sheer DMG increase is only active when agents are buffed by Ether Veil: Wellspring, which its duration can be increased up to 300s. Even if the buff is only 40-88s long on average, this is still a good opportunity for your Rupture agents to deal increased damage.

Other Mindscape Cinema investments, such as Late-Night Hours and The Never-Ending Journey, will heavily depend on how important Lucia's quality-of-life and personal DPS is to you.
