General Information

On this page, we explain what the best statistics are for Enhancement Shamans in World of Warcraft WoD 6.0.3, how the class benefits from each of them.

The statistics priority is important as it influences itemisation choices (gear, enchants, and gems).

The other pages of our Enhancement Shaman guide can be accessed from the table of contents on the right.

1. Basics↑top

The stat priority for an Enhancement Shaman is:

  1. Agility;
  2. Haste (to about 50%);
  3. Mastery;
  4. Multistrike;
  5. Versatility;
  6. Critical Strike;
  7. Haste (after 50%).

A few explanations are needed here.

  • Haste being higher than the other secondary stats until 50%, does not mean that you should stack Haste to 50% before building up any other secondary stat. It merely means that until you reach 50% Haste, you should have more Haste than any other secondary stat.
  • Mastery and Multitrike are equal on single-target situations, but Mastery pulls way ahead in AoE situations.
  • Versatility and Critical Strike are equal in terms of damage output, but Versatility has the added benefit of reducing the damage you take.

These statistics have been obtained by combining common sense, in-game testing, and simulations using Simulation Craft.

If you are unsure how to conform your gear to the above priority, you can Ask Mr. Robot for a personalised optimisation of your character's gear, by filling the form below.

2. Getting a Better Understanding↑top

Agility provides you with Attack Power, which increases the damage if your melee attacks, and Spell Power, which increases the damage of your spells.

Haste increases the speed of your melee autoattacks, enabling you to get more procs on Maelstrom Weapon Icon Maelstrom Weapon. Through Flurry Icon Flurry, it also decreases the cooldown of Stormstrike Icon Stormstrike, Lava Lash Icon Lava Lash, Flame Shock Icon Flame Shock, Frost Shock Icon Frost Shock, Unleash Elements Icon Unleash Elements, and Fire Nova Icon Fire Nova. Also, you get +5% Haste from all sources, thanks to your Lightning Strikes Icon Lightning Strikes passive.

Mastery, through Mastery: Enhanced Elements Icon Mastery: Enhanced Elements, increases all of your Fire, Frost, and Nature damage (i.e., not just the damage from spells, but also the damage from abilities that deal magic damage, like Lava Lash Icon Lava Lash).

Multistrike causes your abilities to have an increased chance to hit/heal a second and a third time, each time dealing 30% of the initial damage/heal.

Versatility is a flat-out damage done increase and damage taken reduction.

Critical Strike increases the damage of your attacks and spells.
