1. Preface

Frost Death Knight stat weights/priorities are not straightforward, and simming your character is generally the best course of action to find out what will work best for you. Once you reach the two required breakpoints of Haste (20%) and Critical Strike (25%), you should go for Versatility, which is what we recommend on this page. However, until you have reached these breakpoints, you will probably need to mix and match.

If you are using Breath of Sindragosa Icon Breath of Sindragosa as your tier 7 talent, then your two primary stats are essentially reversed (Critical Strike to 25%, then Haste to 20%), after which Critical Strike becomes the preferred stat. We list the Critical Strike enhancements below.

2. Gems

You should use Saber's Eye of Strength Icon Saber's Eye of Strength in one socket, and Versatile Maelstrom Sapphire Icon Versatile Maelstrom Sapphire in all other sockets.

If you are using Breath of Sindragosa Icon Breath of Sindragosa as your tier 7 talent, you should use Saber's Eye of Agility Icon Saber's Eye of Agility in one socket, and Deadly Eye of Prophecy Icon Deadly Eye of Prophecy in all other sockets.

3. Enchants

Slot Enchantment
Main-hand Weapon Rune of Razorice Icon Rune of Razorice
Off-hand Weapon Rune of the Fallen Crusader Icon Rune of the Fallen Crusader

4. Consumables

Flask of the Countless Armies Icon Flask of the Countless Armies should be used for raids along with Potion of Deadly Grace Icon Potion of Deadly Grace/Potion of the Old War Icon Potion of the Old War (equal in terms of DPS) as your potion of choice. You should eat Fishbrul Special Icon Fishbrul Special (or the weaker and cheaper Drogbar-Style Salmon Icon Drogbar-Style Salmon) for the powerful proc if provides. Since these two recipes are rare drops, you can use the even weaker Spiced Rib Roast Icon Spiced Rib Roast instead. Ancient Healing Potion Icon Ancient Healing Potion can be used in place of Healthstones.

If you can afford it, you should also use the Legion augment rune: Defiled Augment Rune Icon Defiled Augment Rune. Note that it now works in Mythic+ dungeons (it did not used to).
