AAC Heavyweight M3 Normal Raid Guide
Welcome to our guide to AAC Heavyweight M3, the third encounter in the third and final raid tier of The Arcadion. This guide aims to prepare players for the raid so they will know what to expect, with simple mechanic instructions and notes on what to watch out for.
Introduction
The Tyrant is the third boss fought in AAC Heavyweight and is the grand champion of the Arcadion.
How to Unlock The Tyrant
To unlock AAC Heavyweight M3, players must undertake the quest "Iron Fist" in the Arcadion Heavyweight questline, unlocked by completing AAC Cruiserweight. There is a minimum item level restriction of 745 to enter through the duty finder in a matched party.
Lore
The grand champion has condemned your crusade to abolish the use of feral souls, well aware that the outcome of your clash will decide the Arcadion's future. All of Alexandria now watches with great anticipation, eager to see if the unenhanced warrior will usher in a revolution─or if the Tyrant's reign will rage on.
Raid Guide
The Tyrant is fought on a square arena, but the arena will be destroyed and rebuilt from phase to phase.
Phase One
You fight The Tyrant throughout the entire fight.
Phase One Mechanics
The Tyrant has the following mechanics in phase one.
- Crown of Arcadia: Raidwide physical damage.
- Draw Steel: The Tyrant draws one of three weapons, which changes
the mechanic done by attacks using that weapon.
- A Scythe indicates a donut AoE.
- An Axe indicates a point-blank AoE.
- A Sword indicates a plus-shaped AoE.
- Smashdown: Performs the weapon mechanic on his current location.
- Void Stardust: Marks all players with AoEs that continue hitting them as well as spawning a ground AoE underneath.
- Trophy Weapons: Spawns all three weapon types and tethers to them in a line. The Tyrant dashes to each weapon and does the weapon mechanic there.
- Dance of Domination Trophy: Draws the sword.
- Dance of Domination: Slashes the arena multiple times in quick succession, dealing raidwide physical damage and creating lines which expand into line AoEs.
- Raw Steel Trophy: Draws the axe.
- Raw Steel: A shared tank buster on the main tank and marked AoEs on all other players.
- Charybdistopia: Turns all players' HP to 1.
- Ultimate Trophy Weapons: Repeatedly spawns weapons on the ground. Will always jump to the next location and do the mechanic there.
- Assault Apex: Begins jumping to spawned weapons. The second half of jumps spawn tornadoes which do conal AoEs.
- Immortal Reign: The Tyrant begins to alter his form and begins the second phase.
Phase One Strategy
- Note which weapon The Tyrant spawns or uses. That indicates the AoE that he will cast next. This will be true for the entire fight.
- Spread out for Void Stardust and keep moving to dodge AoEs. Try not to be near another player.
- Similar to the last boss in Myths of the Realm, The Tyrant jumps to each location and does the mechanic indicated. Note which weapon is there to dodge accordingly.
- He then casts both the Sword and Axe mechanics by themselves with a little twist. For Dance of Domination, avoid the lines. For Raw Steel, spread, or mitigate and stack as a tank.
- Charybdistopia drops everyone's HP to 1, but there's no incoming damage for a bit. He will begin to cast Ultimate Trophy Weapons and Assault Apex, which is just a faster Trophy Weapons.
- Get out of the weapon location for the final jumps, as tornadoes spawn which do conal AoEs.
Phase Two
You fight the enhanced Tyrant in the second phase. He no longer uses weapon mechanics and instead uses Behemoth-like mechanics.
Phase Two Mechanics
The Tyrant introduces or changes the following mechanics in phase two.
- One and Only: Heavy raidwide physical damage.
- Meteorain: Towers spawn which must be soaked by 1 player each. These spawn rocks which can be destroyed by incoming mechanics.
- Massive Meteor: Stack marker on the healer.
- Foregone Fatality: Two portals spawn at opposite edges which both tether to a rock. These will blow them up if not intercepted by a tank.
- Double Tyrannhilation: Two giant AoEs that must be dodged by standing behind a rock. However, this occurs twice and destroys rocks, so players need to hide behind a rock that is behind another rock.
- Flatliner: A line AoE that destroys the middle of the platform. Knocks back from the centre and deals damage.
- Majestic Meteor: Spawns repeated ground AoEs that follow players. There will also be line AoEs from portals.
- Fire and Fury: Giant conal AoEs from the boss and proximity meteors at two opposite corners of the arena.
- Arcadion Avalanche: The Tyrant faces a platform. He will destroy that platform, killing all players on it.
- Heartbreak Kick: A multi-hit stack tower in the middle of the arena. Soak as a party.
Phase Two Strategy
- The party can stack in the centre while tanks go off and intercept tethers.
- This occurs again, so soak the towers and stack for the marker while tanks take tethers.
- Stand behind two rocks for Double Tyrannhilation.
- Stand close to the boss for Flatliner to make sure you don't get knocked off the arena. There should be at least two players on each side.
- Dodge the ground AoEs, then head to a safe spot from the line AoEs.
- The giant conal AoE divides each platform into two parts. Move to the part without a giant proximity marker.
- The next Flatliner creates four towers that must be soaked, and also knock up and back from where the player is relative to the middle of the tower.
- The Majestic Meteor sequence repeats, but with no Fire and Fury.
- Only two Flatliner towers appear. The Tyrant will begin a long cast of Arcadion Avalanche. Get to the side where he is not facing: if you're on the unsafe platform, get knocked up to the opposite platform, and if you're on the safe platform, get knocked up across the safe platform.
- This is followed by Crown of Arcadia, and the arena returns to normal.
- The boss now repeats mechanics starting from Majestic Meteor but with a full arena. Avoid the ground AoEs, line AoEs, and conal AoEs.
- The sequence will repeat until the boss is defeated.
Loot
Coffers that appear after defeating The Tyrant will yield tokens that can be traded in for gear. The drops for this fight are listed below.
- 1x Heavy Holohelm;
- 2x Heavy Holoarmor;
- 1x Heavy Hologauntlets;
- 2x Heavy Holotrousers;
- 1x Heavy Holoring.
In addition, an extra coffer rarely appears that drops the Absolute Tyranny Orchestrion Roll.
