This page contains detailed information and strategy about the high-end Duty "The Unending Coil of Bahamut (Ultimate)", commonly abbreviated as UCoB.

1.

The Unending Coil of Bahamut Introduction

The Unending Coil of Bahamut (Ultimate) is a high-end duty added in patch 4.11: The Legend Returns. It can be unlocked by speaking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane (x11.6, y12.6) after completing Deltascape V4.0 (Savage).

The minimum item level to enter this fight is i340, but this can be bypassed with a full party. All gear of an item level greater than i345 will be synced down to i345, and have materia slots ignored.

Important notes:

The majority of this encounter is fairly straightforward. While resolving the mechanics may involve some thought if going in blind, the solutions are not hidden by debuffs or hidden actions. There is one exception to this.

During the first phase of the fight, Twintania, the tanks will be tasked with placing three Neurolinks on the arena floor, where they will stay until the start of the final phase, Golden Bahamut. These Neurolinks are required to solve several trio mechanics and a large portion of the fourth phase where you fight both Twintania and Nael at the same time. If the Neurolinks have been placed improperly, it may result in certain strategies not working or being inconsistent.
