Auchenai Soulpriest + Mistress of Pain will no longer lead to an endless stream of damage on your hero in the Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion.

The addition of the new Lifesteal keyword in the upcoming Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion will certainly have at least one useful side-effect: no longer will attacking with a Mistress of Pain (or Wickerflame Burnbristle) while Auchenai Soulpriest is on the board lead to an endless spiral of hero damage; instead, the effect will only trigger once and then end.

It is worth mentioning that Blizzard's stance has never been that this unfortunate interaction is a bug; it was intended behaviour given that each point of damage these two minions deal leads them to heal your hero, or rather damage it with Auchenai Soulpriest present; therefore, the endless damage loop was a completely logical interaction.

For all information about the upcoming Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion, be sure to check our Knights of the Frozen Throne hub page.

Greetings!

In Knights of the Frozen Throne, we’re introducing a new keyword, Lifesteal, that summarizes the previously existing card text “damage dealt by this also heals your hero”. We’re looking forward to showing off more new cards with the Lifesteal keyword in the coming weeks.

Two cards currently exist with the Lifesteal ability in their text box: Wickerflame Burnbristle and Mistress of Pain. In Knights of the Frozen Throne, we’ll be updating their card text to say “Lifesteal” rather than their current “damage dealt by this minion also heals your hero” text. You can check out what that will look like by clicking the links above!

Stop Hitting Yourself

Auchenai Soulpriest and Mistress of Pain have had a very interesting relationship. Their current interaction results in a continuous loop of healing and damage that results in a rather grisly end to the current game. In Knights of the Frozen Throne, we will be changing the interaction between Auchenai Soulpriest and all minions with Lifesteal so that the Auchenai Soulpriest ability will only trigger once.

We hope you are looking forward to our next chilling expansion!

About time... I was curious if they would fix this before the expac or if that card would be shelved for a long while.

      Jump into Hearthstone's tenth expansion!
The last expansion of the Year of the Raven is now live in all regions and we have compiled everything you need to know about it!
Rastakhan's Rumble introduces the new Overkill keyword and two different types of class cards - Spirits (Rare) and Loa (Legendary). As usual, each class will have two Legendaries: a Loa and the class Champion. The whole thematic of the expansion is that each class is a team of their own, so most class cards synergise well with each other. You can find all of the 135 cards revealed in our dedicated expansion hub.

Upon logging in, you will receive a bunch of free stuff. You will get one of the nine Legendary Loa, as well as two Spirits from the same class. You will also get 6 Rastakhan's Rumble packs for free - and an additional one if you participated in the voting that took place on the official site. These rewards won't be around forever, so grab them during the expansion's launch period!
The Rumble Run is the single-player adventure mode that accompanies this expansion. It will be released in 9 days from today, on December 13.
Don't forget to share your best pack openings, as well as some week 1 crazy decks that you like!
