A new Legendary Warrior Minion has been revealed, marking the defeat of 25 million bosses in the Blackrock Crash Tavern Brawl.

 

The dust has barely settled after the Blackrock Crash Part 1, but the Hearthstone player base has already smashed through 25 million Tavern Brawl bosses and earned the fourth and final FIRE FEST-E.V.I.L. card reveal. Meet the new Warrior Legendary, Armagedillo.

Armagedillo

It's a 6 mana 4/7 Beast with Taunt that gives +2/2 to every Taunt Minion in your hand at the end of your turn. It's reminiscent of Grimy Gadgeteer and Bolster - neither of which were played very often. Still, even under-appreciated mechanics like hand-buffing can be powerful on the right card.

There aren't many great Taunt Minions in Warrior's arsenal right now, so this might be a sign that we can expect to see some in Saviors of Uldum.

World of Warcraft players may recognize Armagedillo as a rare beast that spawns in the Uldum desert. It drops its tail as an item, which can be used as a mace. This one appears to have been kitted out with some serious ordnance by Blastmaster Boom.

2+2 to every TAUNT minion in your hand.  Guessing that's a typo since there's talk about few taunt warrior cards atm.    Too bad it's not a mech...the art makes it at least a cyborg?

Yep, thanks for spotting that - fixed. Don't think it's a cyborg, just a beast with some heavy artillery!

Well, it looks like this will be another half baked, incomplete warrior archetype that will sit next to dragon warrior, rush warrior and big warrior.

For a company that plans out their expansions many months in advance, it seems like Blizzard has a really short attention span when it comes to building new archetypes. Every class now has a handful of cards for several unfinished archetypes that never got enough support to build a viable deck. I think Blizzard should either focus on printing individually strong cards that don't require you to build your whole deck around them, or just print more support for past archetypes from past sets.

It's not just short attention span, Blizzard seems to have several archetypes that it keeps wanting to push, but either the concept itself is terrible (discard warlock doesn't work because losing random cards is always a -big- gamble) or they don't support it enough.    Taunt Warrior has been "around" for a long while now but it just doesn't work because of the lack of good taunts.    You have all the "reverse healing to damage" archetype stuff for priest that's never really taken off and at best supplemented other decks, the "demon tribe" warlock synergy that's never been strong enough, etc.

      Blizzard released the 17.2.2 client patch for Hearthstone to fix a bug related to the closed shop that occurred due to a missing runtime dependency.

      We’re currently in the process of deploying a 17.2.2 client patch that will address the following items:
      Fixed a bug that would cause a crash on mobile when clicking the eye to see who is spectating. Fixed a few various issues that would lock the game state when playing certain cards from hand. Fixed a bug where some players in Europe were only given the option of Warrior as their free deck after graduating the new player ranks. Fixed a bug where the shop would be closed when launching Hearthstone due to a missing runtime dependency. If the shop is still closed after updating to 17.2.2, try swapping to another region on the launcher and swapping back before opening Hearthstone again.
      The incorrect Mana display bug for mobile users will be fixed in the next update.

      A new blog post has been released, detailing a dozen card changes coming to the game on Monday 18th of May.
      Shaman is getting some much needed help, since three of its cards will be buffed - although it is debatable if these buffs will be enough to move the class out of the bottom.
      As far as the nerfs are concerned, two more Demon Hunter cards (who would have thought?) are getting toned down. Scavenger's Ingenuity, Shadowjeweler Hanar, Blackjack Stunner, Imprisoned Scrap Imp, Bloodboil Brute, Bloodsworn Mercenary are also getting tweaked.
      Nerfed cards will be eligible for a refund until June 1st.
      The patch also brings a bug fix for Ethereal Conjurer, which was causing the game to lock by not offering any Discover options. 
      Don't forget you can grab a free Nemsy until May 19, as part of Patch 17.2.0.
