Recommended Posts

New servers have launched in both regions and Blizzard will be offering free realm transfers on overpopulated realms after launch, so feel free to create your characters on said realms.

Check out our WoW Classic Hub for the latest Classic news!

Welcome to our latest realm population report, where we monitor the Classic WoW realm population based on available data. Blizzard recently added new servers to both regions, so we wanted to wait a bit to see how they become populated over the next 24 hours before doing another report.

We listed all previous reports and blue posts regarding realm population below:

WoW Classic AMA & Realm Population

The latest Classic AMA touched upon the subject of realm population. We learned how Blizzard is going to use layering on launch, The devs also said that:

  • Herod (US) and Shazzrah (EU) queue times can reach several hours or more in certain instances.
  • Lengthy queue times are expected for at least the first week after launch.
  • Free transfers will be offered to players from given servers if they happen to be overpopulated at launch.
    • With that said, you should now be more confident about creating a character on a overpopulated realm. Chances are it's going to get better a few weeks after launch and in the worst-case scenario, you'll receive a free character transfer.
  • There's no scheduled maintenance planned for launch, just rolling restarts.
  • In the minutes leading up to launch, the plan is that the realms will up and available and the Enter World button will instantly light up once we're launched.

This article highlights population changes since our latest report.

Blizzard LogoBlizzard (Source)

As of now, a large number of WoW Classic characters have been created on the following realms. Players with characters on this realm are likely to experience severe queues at release.

  • Faerlina - PvP
  • Herod - PvP
  • Mankrik - Normal
  • Pagle - Normal
  • Thalnos - PvP
  • Whitemane - PvP

Last Updated: August 20

We have updated the algorithm for the realm population tags so they more accurately reflect the expected population for that realm. The realms that are listed as “Full” are where we expect to see extended queues. If you’re concerned about long queue times affecting your play experience, you may want to consider creating characters on a lower population realm before the game releases on August 26 at 3:00 p.m. PDT.

As a result of the US realms being mostly Full, Blizzard launched two new servers in the region:

  • Blaumeux - PvP - Pacific Time Zone
  • Skeram - PvP - Eastern Time Zone
Name Type Time Zone Population
Atiesh Normal Pacific High
Blaumeux *new* PvP Pacific Low
Mankrik Normal Eastern High Full
Myzrael Normal Pacific High
Pagle Normal Eastern Full
Skeram *new* PvP Eastern Medium

Faerlina PvP Eastern Full
Fairbanks PvP Pacific  High
Herod PvP Eastern Full
Whitemane PvP Pacific Full
Bloodsail Buccanneers RP Eastern Medium
Grobbulus RP-PvP Pacific Medium
Thalnos PvP Eastern High Full

Oceanic Realms

Arugal's population is now High.

Name Type Time Zone Population

Remulos Normal Australian Eastern Time Medium

give it a month or 2 and the full's will be high at best  the mediums will be low to medium. because the hype is gone and the wimps that cant take the grind of classic will go back to having there hands help in retail. and all the 'Rush to 60's will get bored waiting for new content ect

Players have been noticing that Righteous Orbs were suddenly no longer dropping, and now Blizzard have confirmed that there was a hotfix, and that they were never intended to drop before Phase 4.
      Righteous Orbs (Source)
With a hotfix that went live to all realms earlier today, Righteous Orbs no longer drop during Phase 3 of Season of Discovery.
They’ll become available as intended in Phase 4.

Blizzard will be adding a one-time fix for Season of Discovery players who used Bloodstained Commendations to increase their PvP rank, but forgot about the 15 kill minimum by adding said 15 Honorable Kills at this week's reset.
      Bloodstained Commendations (Source)
We identified a significant number of players who appear to have been trying for Rank, and used a lot of Bloodstained Commendations before the deadline, but did not obtain the requisite HKs that week. We’ve developed a one-time-only fixup for you.
On Tuesday, April 16, during scheduled maintenance – before the weekly calculations are started for the week of April 9-16 – we’re going to attempt to change the record for those player-characters who fit the above description for the week of April 2-9. The fixup will essentially change your history to make it look as though you got the requisite 15 HKs during the previous week.

One of the most famous deaths in Classic Hardcore made it over into Season of Discovery Phase 3! The developers added a corpse in the new Sunken Temple raid, close to where Guzu's orc fell and thus made the legendary hole-in-one death even more so.
Originally spotted by Eric264, here's Guzu himself finding his gear-accurate body (although the Alexstrasza mousepad is nowhere to be found), a little bit off to the side of where he actually fell.

In case you weren't familiar with the death itself, it has not one, but two Jormungars  hilarious animations based on it, including one by the legendary Hurricane, which you can check out here. As for the death itself, here it is:

That's a really elaborate way to get an NPC based on you in the game, and I love it!
