Mitya Guide & Best Builds

Welcome to our Mitya build guide for Genshin Impact. Mitya is a 5-Star Electro Catalyst character. In our guide, we'll cover everything you need to know about how he is best built, including his top artifacts, weapons, stat priorities, and playstyle.

Different Mitya Build Options

Mitya can be used as either an on-field DPS for Stellar-Conduct, or an off-field support and Sub-DPS. His build varies depending on the role you use him in.

Best Weapons for Mitya

Listed below are Mitya's best weapons in his DPS teams. While weapons are listed in a priority order, what's best to build on your Mitya can vary depending on the team composition and level of investment you want to put into Mitya.

A max of 3 stacks of Formula Dissociation can be gained during each Formula Association, and using their Elemental Skill first clears existing effects.

Good free-to-play option for Mitya, providing the Energy Recharge needed for his Elemental Burst, and a good amount of Elemental Mastery for his damage. However, the Energy Recharge is much less valuable in a triple Electro team, or if Mitya has his Constellation 1.
Starcaller's Watch (R1) 101%

Offering Unto Wind and Sun

Base ATK: 542

Elemental Mastery: 265

Increases Elemental Mastery by 100 / 125 / 150 / 175 / 200. Obtain the "Wax and Wane" effect after an Elemental Reaction is triggered, gaining 24 / 27 / 30 / 33 / 36 Elemental Mastery while losing 5% ATK. For every 0.3s, 1 stack of Wax and Wane can be gained. Max 5 stacks. For every 6s that go by without an Elemental Reaction being triggered, 1 stack will be lost. This effect can be triggered even when the character is off-field.

Works well as an alternative to Etherlight Spindlelute, providing very similar stats, while being available from forging.
Reliquary of Truth (R1) 100%

Essence of Falsity

Base ATK: 542

CRIT DMG: 88.2%

CRIT Rate is increased by 8% / 10% / 12% / 14% / 16%. When both the Secret of Lies and Moon of Truth effects are active at the same time, the results of both effects will be increased by 50%.

Winter's Heavy Heart (R1) 98%

Secrets of Frost

Base ATK: 510

CRIT DMG: 55.1%

The equipping character gains "Silver-Tinged Blood Pact": The equipping character's Elemental Mastery is increased by 24 / 30 / 36 / 42 / 48 for every Cryo character present in the party. For every Electro character present in the party, the equipping character's ATK is increased by 4.8% / 6% / 7.2% / 8.4% / 9.6%. Up to 4 Cryo or Electro characters can provide the above buffs.
Radiance: Stellar Glimmer: The effect of Silver-Tinged Blood Pact is changed to: For every Cryo or Electro character present in the party, the equipping character gains a 20-point / 25-point / 30-point / 35-point / 40-point Elemental Mastery boost and deals 6% / 7.5% / 9% / 10.5% / 12% increased Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG.

Mitya doesn't benefit from the ATK this weapon provides, but the CRIT and EM are good. If your Mitya has low energy requirements, this weapon will be better than options like Etherlight Spindlelute. Once fully refined, this is one of the most powerful weapons Mitya can use.
Clash of Kings (R1) 95%

Without Heed for Day nor Night

Base ATK: 510

CRIT Rate: 27.6%

Using an Elemental Skill grants the equipping character "Laws of the Board," which increases their ATK by 20% / 25% / 30% / 35% / 40% and their Elemental Mastery by 100 / 125 / 150 / 175 / 200. This effect lasts 6s and can trigger once every 12s. Does not stack. The duration of this effect will also be extended by 6s if the equipping character hits an opponent with a Charged Attack while it is active. The effect can be extended for max 6s in this way.

This is a good option for Mitya that can be easily obtained if you purchase the Battle Pass. However, the CRIT Rate it provides can be difficult to build around.
Sacrificial Jade (R1) 95%

Jade Circulation

Base ATK: 454

CRIT Rate: 36.8%

When not on the field for more than 5s, Max HP will be increased by 32% / 40% / 48% / 56% / 64% and Elemental Mastery will be increased by 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80. These effects will be canceled after the wielder has been on the field for 10s.

The Widsith (R5) 94%

Debut

Base ATK: 510

CRIT DMG: 55.1%

When the character takes the field, they will gain a random theme song for 10s. This can only occur once every 30s. Recitative: ATK is increased by 60% / 75% / 90% / 105% / 120%. Aria: Increases all Elemental DMG by 48% / 60% / 72% / 84% / 96%. Interlude: Elemental Mastery is increased by 240 / 300 / 360 / 420 / 480.

The Elemental Mastery buff this weapon can provide is incredible on Mitya. However, the ATK and DMG% buffs are no good for him. This, along with the cooldown, makes this weapon very inconsistent for Mitya.

Listed below are Mitya's best weapons for overall team DPS as a support. While weapons are listed in a priority order, what's best to build on your Mitya can vary depending on the team composition and level of investment you want to put into Mitya.

Wandering Evenstar (R5) 104%

Wildling Nightstar

Base ATK: 510

Elemental Mastery: 165

The following effect will trigger every 10s: The equipping character will gain 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK for 12s, with nearby party members gaining 30% of this buff for the same duration. Multiple instances of this weapon can allow this buff to stack. This effect will still trigger even if the character is not on the field.

Wandering Evenstar (R1) 101%

Wildling Nightstar

Base ATK: 510

Elemental Mastery: 165

The following effect will trigger every 10s: The equipping character will gain 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48% of their Elemental Mastery as bonus ATK for 12s, with nearby party members gaining 30% of this buff for the same duration. Multiple instances of this weapon can allow this buff to stack. This effect will still trigger even if the character is not on the field.

Generally Mitya's best 4-star weapon as a support. His scalings allow him to use a high Elemental Mastery build to provide a decent Attack buff from this weapon, while still dealing decent damage.
A Thousand Floating Dreams (R1) 101%

A Thousand Nights' Dawnsong

Base ATK: 542

Elemental Mastery: 265

Party members other than the equipping character will provide the equipping character with buffs based on whether their Elemental Type is the same as the latter or not. If their Elemental Types are the same, increase Elemental Mastery by 32 / 40 / 48 / 56 / 64. If not, increase the equipping character's DMG Bonus from their Elemental Type by 10% / 14% / 18% / 22% / 26%. Each of the aforementioned effects can have up to 3 stacks. Additionally, all nearby party members other than the equipping character will have their Elemental Mastery increased by 40 / 42 / 44 / 46 / 48. Multiple such effects from multiple such weapons can stack.

This is a good option for Mitya, as he makes good use of the Elemental Mastery for his own damage, and it will provide a small buff to the rest of the team.
Weapon: Catalyst (R1) 101%

7.2 Featured Weapon

Base ATK: 542

CRIT DMG: 88.2%

Increases CRIT DMG by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48%. When the equipping character uses their Elemental Skill, they gain the Formula Association effect: Elemental Mastery increases by 48 / 60 / 72 / 84 / 96 for 20s. While this effect is active, the equipping character gains a stack of Formula Dissociation when a nearby party member triggers an Elemental Reaction: Each stack increases Elemental Mastery by a further 24 / 30 / 36 / 42 / 48, and when the Stellar-Conduct reaction is triggered, each stack of Formula Dissociation will also increase the equipping character's Stellar-Conduct CRIT DMG by 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24%. A max of 3 stacks of Formula Dissociation can be gained during each Formula Association, and using their Elemental Skill first clears existing effects.

This is the best weapon for Mitya's personal damage, but he is generally not a large portion of the overall team damage.
Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers (R5) 100%

Heritage

Base ATK: 401

HP: 35.2%

When switching characters, the new character taking the field has their ATK increased by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48% for 10s. This effect can only occur once every 20s.

An easily accessible weapon that can provide a good ATK buff to your active character. However, the buff only lasts 10 seconds, so it won't work as well for characters with long field times such as Cyno.

4-Piece Set: Increases Superconduct Reaction DMG by 80% and Stellar-Conduct Reaction DMG by 40%. When the wielder attacks opponents affected by Superconduct or Stellar-Conduct, this attack's CRIT Rate is increased by 16%.

Mitya's best set for his damage. However, the ATK it provides is of no use on him. The CRIT Rate it provides can also be difficult to build around if using a weapon like Clash of Kings.
Night of the Sky's Unveiling 99%

Night of the Sky's Unveiling

2-Piece Set: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80.

4-Piece Set: When nearby party members trigger Lunar Reactions, if the equipping character is on the field, gain the Gleaming Moon: Intent effect for 4s: Increases CRIT Rate by 15%/30% when the party's Moonsign is Nascent Gleam/Ascendant Gleam. All party members' Lunar Reaction DMG is increased by 10% for each different Gleaming Moon effect that party members have. Effects from Gleaming Moon cannot stack.

Lunar-Charged and Stellar-Conduct can be used together on the same team. As such, if using Columbina and Ineffa, this is Mitya's second strongest set.
Wanderer's Troupe 100% Gilded Dreams

Wanderer's Troupe

2-Piece Set: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80.

4-Piece Set: Increases Charged Attack DMG by 35% if the character uses a Catalyst or a Bow.

Each of the aforementioned buffs will count up to 3 characters. This effect can be triggered once every 8s. The character who equips this can still trigger its effects when not on the field.

Thanks to his pure Elemental Mastery scaling, mixed 2pc sets of this stat work very well on him.

4-Piece Set: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the ATK of all nearby party members is increased by 20% and their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field.

Mitya's Stat Priority

Sands of Eon: Elemental Mastery / Energy Recharge
Goblet of Eonothem: Elemental Mastery
Circlet of Logos: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG / Elemental Mastery
Substats: Energy Recharge > CRIT / Elemental Mastery

Since Mitya's damage scales purely off Elemental Mastery, it is best on his Sands and Goblet. If needed be to reach his Energy requirements in your team, Energy Recharge can be used on the sands. For the Circlet, either CRIT or Elemental Mastery can work well. How well they compare to each other will depend on how much CRIT and Elemental Mastery Mitya already has in your team and build.

Recommended Stats for Mitya

Build recommendations assume a "decently built" level of artifact rolls alongside Mitya's best F2P weapon. Using other weapons may increase or decrease certain stats relative to these recommendations.

HP: 17,000-19,000
ATK: 1100-1300
Elemental Mastery: 500-600
Energy Recharge: 145-165%
CRIT Rate: 60-70%
CRIT DMG: 155-180%

These numbers reflect Mitya on Etherlight Spindlelute in a team where he requires Energy Recharge to use his Elemental Burst every rotation. The listed stats reflect what you would see on the stat screen, before any buffs are applied. The exact amount of Energy Recharge needed can vary from team to team. If you have Mitya's Constellation 1, it will be much lower.

Sands of Eon: Elemental Mastery
Goblet of Eonothem: Elemental Mastery
Circlet of Logos: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG / Elemental Mastery
Substats: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG / Elemental Mastery

Mitya scales purely off Elemental Mastery, so it should always be used on the Sands and Goblet. For the Circlet, if using Wandering Evenstar, Elemental Mastery can be worth using over CRIT, as it will make the team-wide ATK buff a bit larger.

Recommended Stats for Mitya

Build recommendations assume a "decently built" level of artifact rolls alongside Mitya's best F2P weapon. Using other weapons may increase or decrease certain stats relative to these recommendations.

HP: 21,000-23,000
ATK: 1000-1150
Elemental Mastery: 450-550
Energy Recharge: 100%
CRIT Rate: 60-70%
CRIT DMG: 155-180%

The stats shown here are reflecting Mitya on Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers. These are the stats you would see on the stat screen before buffs and effects from the team and Artifacts are applied. Mitya's Elemental Burst is generally not worth using as a support, so no Energy Recharge is needed.

Mitya's Talent Priority

Talent Priority: Chain Reaction >>> Analysis: Gradient Theory >>> Principle: Variable Detection

Almost all of Mitya's damage as a DPS comes from his Normal Attack talent, so it should be maxed first. His Elemental Skill and Burst here deal very little damage and can be left at low levels.

Talent Priority: Principle: Variable Detection >>> Analysis: Gradient Theory >>> Chain Reaction

As a support, all of Mitya's Stellar-Conduct damage comes from his Elemental Skill, and he generally doesn't use the other talents at all, so they can be left unleveled.

How to Play Mitya

As an on-field DPS, Mitya's playstyle requires using the Hold version of his Elemental Skill, which makes his Gradient Beacons generate faster. He can then consume with his Charged Attack to deal Electro Stellar-Conduct damage for each. After all are consumed, Mitya can cast his Elemental Burst to instantly generate more and perform another Charged Attack.

Ultimately, Mitya's combo looks like: Elemental Skill (hold) > Charged Attack > Elemental Burst > Charged Attack.

As a support, Mitya's playstyle is very simple. He performs the Tap version of his Elemental Skill, and will continuously generate his Gradient Beacons up to once every 1.5s. Each Gradient Beacon will provide the team with 30 Elemental Mastery, so 120 total, 150 at Constellation 1. He will then deal Electro Stellar-Conduct damage every 1.5s as well.

He can use his Elemental Burst to instantly generate 3 Gradient Beacons, allowing the Elemental Mastery buff to reach it's maximum much faster, and allow his Stellar-Conduct damage to start sooner. However, it's generally not worth spending the extra field time on Mitya for this. So, Mitya's gameplay simply consists of casting his Tap Elemental Skill, then swapping to the next character in your rotation.

Mitya's Best Constellations

Mitya has some of the most powerful Constellations in the game, with most providing massive increases to his personal damage. Getting him to Constellation 2, or even just Constellation 1, will make him a substantially stronger DPS.

Mitya's Constellations make him a much better buffer. In particular, his C2 provides a strong amount of RES Shred and team-wide Elemental Mastery, resulting in a large team DPS increase.
