Nicole Guide & Best Builds

Welcome to our Nicole build guide for Genshin Impact. Nicole is a powerful 5-Star Pyro support character specialized in Attack buffing and shielding. In our guide, we'll cover everything you need to know to get the most out of your Nicole, from building the best Artifacts and Weapons to important stat priorities and rotations.

Best Weapons for Nicole

Listed below are Nicole's best weapons. While weapons are listed in a priority order, what's best to build on your Nicole can vary depending on the team composition and level of investment you want to put into Nicole.

Angelos' Heptades (R1) 108%

Crown of the Final Scion

Base ATK: 741

ATK: 16.5%

ATK is increased by 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24%. After the equipping character creates a Shield, they gain "Pathfinder's Light" for 20s: Increases your active party member's DMG by 10% / 13% / 16% / 19% / 22% for every 1,000 ATK the equipping character has, up to a maximum of 26% / 34% / 42% / 50% / 58%. Additionally, when the equipping character creates a Shield, they will also gain "Guide's Contentment": Restores 14 / 15 / 16 / 17 / 18 Elemental Energy to the equipping character. The aforementioned effect can trigger once every 14s, and can also be triggered when any type of chest is opened outside of combat. The equipping character may trigger this effect even when they are an off-field.
Hexerei: Secret Rite: When your own Hexerei character is off-field in the party, they will also gain 50% of the DMG increase from Pathfinder's Light.

Nicole's signature and best weapon, providing enough Attack to effortlessly max out her Attack buff while also providing additional buffing through DMG %. Nicole should always use this weapon if you have it.
Starcaller's Watch (R1) 103%

Offering Unto Wind and Sun

Base ATK: 542

Elemental Mastery: 265

Increases Elemental Mastery by 100 / 125 / 150 / 175 / 200. Gain the "Mirror of Night" effect within 15s after the equipping character creates a shield: The current active party member deals 28% / 35% / 42% / 49% / 56% increased DMG to nearby opponents. You can gain the "Mirror of Night" effect once every 14s.

This weapon provides an identical DMG % buff to your active character as Angelos' Heptades and has a longer duration than Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers, so it will usually be her second best weapon.
Skyward Atlas (R1) 101%

Wandering Clouds

Base ATK: 674

ATK: 33.1%

Increases Elemental DMG Bonus by 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24%. Normal Attack hits have a 50% chance to earn the favor of the clouds, which actively seek out nearby opponents to attack for 15s, dealing 160% / 200% / 240% / 280% / 320% ATK DMG. Can only occur once every 30s.

If you don't have any of the buffing weapons, this is a solid standard banner option you may have. The high amount of Attack it provides will easily max out Nicole's Attack buff. Other high ATK 5-Star weapons you may have can work as well, such as Cashflow Supervision.
Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers (R5) 100%

Heritage

Base ATK: 401

HP: 35.2%

When switching characters, the new character taking the field has their ATK increased by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48% for 10s. This effect can only occur once every 20s.

Fantastic free-to-play weapon option for Nicole. The low base Attack will result in a lower Attack buff from Nicole, but the ATK % this weapon provides will usually outweigh the loss. If your team performs 20 second or longer rotations and can properly rotate around getting the buff on the right character, this is the best weapon if you don't have Angelos' Heptades or Starcaller's Watch.
Oathsworn Eye (R5) 98%

People of the Faltering Light

Base ATK: 565

ATK: 27.6%

Increases Energy Recharge by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48% for 10s after using an Elemental Skill.

Great free to play weapon option, providing a good amount of both stats Nicole wants - Attack and Energy Recharge. However, this weapon is from an old event, and is no longer possible to obtain.
Favonius Codex (R5) 96%

Windfall

Base ATK: 510

Energy Recharge: 45.9%

CRIT Hits have a 60% / 70% / 80% / 90% / 100% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12s / 10.5s / 9s / 7.5s / 6s.

The energy particles this weapon makes can be great support for teams with high energy requirements, and the Energy Recharge substat will allow Nicole to run little to no ER substats. However, you will need to build Crit Rate to make this weapon consistent, which can take away from building ATK %, lowering Nicole's buff.

Best Artifacts for Nicole

Celestial Gift

Celestial Gift

2-Piece Set: Energy Recharge +20%.

4-Piece Set: If the equipping character has completed Witch's Homework, after they use an Elemental Skill, they gain "Light's Guidance" for 20s: All nearby party members gain a 20% Elemental DMG Bonus corresponding to the equipping character's Elemental Type. The equipping character can trigger this effect while off-field. DMG Bonuses provided by Artifact Sets with the same name do not stack.\n· When your party has the Hexerei: Secret Rite effect, Light's Guidance is upgraded to "Mortal Hymn": All nearby party members gain a 40% Elemental DMG Bonus corresponding to both the equipping character and the current active party member's Elemental Type instead. If both characters have the same Elemental Type, these bonuses will not stack.

The best set for Nicole by far, allowing her to provide a long-lasting DMG % buff equal in size to that of Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City. Even in teams where Nicole is the only Hexerei unit, this set still provides 20% DMG, which will usually be more valuable than what other buffing sets like Noblesse Oblige can provide. Thus, Nicole should essentially always be on this set.
Noblesse Oblige

Noblesse Oblige

2-Piece Set: Elemental Burst DMG +20%

4-Piece Set: Using an Elemental Burst increases all party members' ATK by 20% for 12s. This effect cannot stack.

If someone else on the team happens to be using Celestial Gift, this is an alternative buffing set Nicole can use. But keep in mind it requires her Elemental Burst to activate.
Gladiator's Finale A Day Carved From Rising Winds

Gladiator's Finale

2-Piece Set: ATK +18%.

4-Piece Set: If the wielder of this artifact set uses a Sword, Claymore or Polearm, increases their Normal Attack DMG by 35%.

A Day Carved From Rising Winds

2-Piece Set: ATK +18%.

4-Piece Set: After a Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Elemental Skill, or Elemental Burst hits an opponent, gain the Blessing of Pastoral Winds effect for 6s: ATK is increased by 25%. If the equipping character has completed Witch's Homework, Blessing of Pastoral Winds will be upgraded to Resolve of Pastoral Winds, which additionally increases the CRIT Rate of the equipping character by 20%. This effect can be triggered even when the character is off-field.

Mixed 2-piece ATK % options can also be used if Celestial Gift is occupied by another support. The extra ATK % will help Nicole maximize her Attack buff.

Nicole's Stat Priority

Sands of Eon: ATK % or Energy Recharge
Goblet of Eonothem: ATK %
Circlet of Logos: ATK % or CRIT Rate
Substats: ATK % > Energy Recharge > CRIT Rate

Nicole's Attack buff to the team scales off her total Attack, so she wants to get as much ATK % from her artifacts as possible. Energy Recharge should also be emphasized in order to use her Elemental Burst every rotation. However, her Burst provides much less buffing than her Elemental Skill, and it is not a huge loss to burst every other rotation while ignoring Energy Recharge. CRIT Rate only matters if using Favonius Codex.

Recommended Stats for Nicole

Build recommendations assume a "decently built" level of artifact rolls alongside Nicole's best weapon. Using other weapons may increase or decrease certain stats relative to these recommendations.

HP: 18,000-21,000
ATK: 2500-2600
CRIT Rate: 5-20%
CRIT DMG: 5-75%
Energy Recharge: 175-200%

The stats above reflect Nicole's stats on Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers before factoring in any buffs you will have from your team. Aim to get Attack as close to 4000 as possible, as this is where Attack buff is maxed out. The exact Energy Recharge needed will vary from team to team, but this range will be sufficient for most. Some teams can ignore Energy Recharge entirely, and either Burst every other rotation, or not at all.

Nicole's Talent Priority

Talent Priority: Revelation: Uncreated Light > Revelation: Ladder of Divine Ascent >>> Allegoria

Nicole's Elemental Skill should always be prioritized, as both her Attack buff and Shield scale off of it. The Elemental Burst is less important, but should still be leveled. Nicole should also be leveled to 90, to help maximize her base Attack for her buffing.

How to Play Nicole

Nicole's playstyle is focused on supporting her team with a long-lasting Shield and Attack buffs, both provided by her Elemental Skill, while also providing DMG % buffing via Celestial Gift. Her gameplay will usually consist of simply casting her Elemental Skill and Burst, then swapping to the next character in the rotation.

Nicole's Best Constellations

Nicole's C1 and C2 are some of the strongest early support Constellations in the entire game. Both provide a ~14-16% increase to the total team damage, making them both excellent investments, especially for DPS without great Constellations of their own. After C2, Nicole's Constellations are underwhelming until C6, but her C6 is extremely powerful, as it provides DEF Ignore%, one of the rarest types of buffs in the game.

Constellation % of C0 % From Previous Constellation
C0 100%
100%
C1 115% 115%
C2 134% 116%
C3 137% 102%
C4 140% 103%
C5 141% 101%
C6 185% 131%
Investment Priority: Constellations 1&2 > Weapon
