Weapon Skins Guide and How to Unlock

Weapon Skins are a system available in Genshin Impact allowing you to change the style of your current weapon on your character. These are currently only obtainable through the endgame mode Stygian Onslaught.

Weapon Skins are only obtainable through the highest difficulty of Stygian Onslaught. Through the extra difficulty: Dire VI. There are 2 variations of these skins with a 4-Star variant being obtained from simply clearing the hardest difficulty and a 5-Star variant for clearing within 180 seconds.

• 4-Star: Obtained for clearing difficulty VI in general.
• 5-Star: Obtained for clearing difficulty VI in 180s total from all 3 bosses. Grants an extra glow.

The only difference in these is that the 5-Star weapon skins have an extra glow.

These skins have a variation for each of the 7 elements as well as a weapon skin existing for each of the weapon types. Totalling to 35 skin variants.

Weapon Skins are not permanent, they will expire at the end of the patch. Players who currently have the skins will also not continue to keep them, they will be gone for everyone at the end of the patch. We do not know if this means that the same skins will be back in Stygian again next patch, or if the developers may rotate through a selection of skins or make them permanently unlockable at a later date.

With difficulty VI being harder than Spiral Abyss floor 12, the fact they are not permanent is likely to alleviate any worries on missing out on these skins while still granting a reward for the highest difficulty.
