Jiaoqiu's Best Light Cone

Listed below are our recommendations for Light Cones you should build around on your Jiaoqiu.

Those Many Springs
S1
Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 60.0 / 70.0 / 80.0 / 90.0 / 100%. After the wearer uses Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate to attack an enemy target, there is a 60.0% base chance to inflict "Unarmored" on the target. While in the Unarmored state, the enemy target receives 10.0 / 12.0 / 14.0 / 16.0 / 18.0% increased DMG, lasting for 2 turn(s). If the target is under a DoT state inflicted by the wearer, there is a 60.0% base chance to upgrade the "Unarmored" state inflicted by the wearer to the "Cornered" state, which additionally increases the DMG the enemy target receives by 14.0 / 16.0 / 18.0 / 20.0 / 22.0%, lasting for 2 turn(s). During this period, the wearer cannot inflict "Unarmored" on the target.

Sources: Event Warp (limited)
Those Many Springs is Jiaoqiu's signature Light Cone and his best-in-slot option. The additional EHR improves the consistency of his debuffs and increases his ATK via his Bonus Trace. His abilities have a base chance to increase DMG taken by enemies, making him more reliable while boosting his team's overall damage.
Lies Dance on the Breeze
S1
Increases the wearer's SPD by 18.0 / 21.0 / 24.0 / 27.0 / 30.0%. After the wearer uses an attack, there is a 120.0% base chance to inflict the "Bamboozle" state on every enemy target. While under the "Bamboozle" state, enemy targets have their DEF decreased by 16.0 / 18.0 / 20.0 / 22.0 / 24.0% for 2 turn(s). If the wearer's SPD is higher than or equal to 170, there is a 120.0% base chance to inflict the "Theft" state on every enemy target. While under the "Theft" state, enemy targets have their DEF decreased by 8.0 / 9.0 / 10.0 / 11.0 / 12.0% for 2 turn(s). When "Bamboozle" or "Theft" is repeatedly inflicted, only the most recently inflicted instance takes effect.

Sources: Event Warp (limited)
Lies Dance on the Breeze increases turn frequency, allowing the application of Ashen Roast more consistently. It provides DEF shred, increasing damage dealt by the entire team. Reaching 170 SPD or higher further reduces all enemies' DEF, maximising team damage.
Why Does the Ocean Sing
S1
Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 40.0 / 45.0 / 50.0 / 55.0 / 60.0%. When an enemy target gets inflicted with a debuff by the wearer, there is a 80.0% base chance for them to enter "Enthrallment," lasting for 3 turn(s). Effects of the same type cannot stack. While the target is in "Enthrallment," for every 1 debuff applied by the wearer on the target, increases the target's received DoT by 5.0 / 6.3 / 7.5 / 8.8 / 10.0%, stacking up to 6 time(s). When the target gets attacked by an ally, increases the attacker's SPD by 10.0 / 12.5 / 15.0 / 17.5 / 20.0% for 3 turn(s). When the wearer gets knocked down, removes all "Enthrallment."

Sources: Event Warp (limited)
Why Does the Ocean Sing increases EHR, improving Jiaoqiu's debuff consistency while enhancing his ATK through his Bonus Trace. Enthrallment increases an enemy's DoT taken based on the debuffs Jiaoqiu has applied, while the SPD buff helps allies act more often. Best used in DoT teams.
Incessant Rain
S1
Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 24.0 / 28.0 / 32.0 / 36.0 / 40.0%. When the wearer deals DMG to an enemy that currently has 3 or more debuffs, increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 12.0 / 14.0 / 16.0 / 18.0 / 20.0%. After the wearer uses their Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate, there is a 100% base chance to implant Aether Code on a random hit target that does not yet have it. Targets with Aether Code receive 12.0 / 14.0 / 16.0 / 18.0 / 20.0% increased DMG for 1 turn.

Sources: Event Warp (limited)
Incessant Rain increases Jiaoqiu's EHR, improving debuff consistency. When an enemy has 3 or more debuffs, it also increases Crit Rate, helping him land more crit hits. After using an ability, it applies increased DMG taken to an enemy, boosting overall team damage output.
Eyes of the Prey
S5
Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 20.0 / 25.0 / 30.0 / 35.0 / 40.0% and increases DoT by 24.0 / 30.0 / 36.0 / 42.0 / 48.0%.

Sources: Stellar Warp
Eyes of the Prey increases Jiaoqiu's EHR by 40% and DoT by 48%, improving the consistency of his debuffs while greatly boosting the damage of his Burn effects.
Before the Tutorial Mission Starts
S5
Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 20.0 / 25.0 / 30.0 / 35.0 / 40.0%. When the wearer attacks DEF-reduced enemies, regenerates 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 Energy.

Sources: Mission Reward
Before the Tutorial Mission Starts increases Effect Hit Rate by 40%, improving debuff consistency. When he attacks enemies with DEF reduction, he regenerates 8 Energy, helping him use his Ultimate more frequently. This is his best free-to-play option. It is only useful for teams with allies providing DEF reduction such as Black Swan.
Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat
S1
When the wearer hits an enemy and if the hit enemy is not already "Ensnared," then there is a 60.0 / 70.0 / 80.0 / 90.0 / 100% base chance to "Ensnare" the hit enemy. "Ensnared" enemies' DEF decreases by 12.0 / 13.0 / 14.0 / 15.0 / 16.0% for 1 turn(s).

Sources: Stellar Warp
Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat gives Jiaoqiu a chance to apply DEF reduction when attacking, increasing the damage enemies take. This improves overall team damage output by amplifying both his own and his allies' damage.
Solitary Healing
S1
Increases the wearer's Break Effect by 20.0 / 25.0 / 30.0 / 35.0 / 40.0%. When the wearer uses their Ultimate, increases DoT dealt by the wearer by 24.0 / 30.0 / 36.0 / 42.0 / 48.0%, lasting for 2 turn(s). When a target enemy suffering from DoT imposed by the wearer is defeated, regenerates 4 / 4.5 / 5 / 5.5 / 6 Energy for the wearer.

Sources: Herta's Store
Solitary Healing is a strong option for Pure Fiction, increasing Jiaoqiu's Break Effect and DoT damage after using his Ultimate. It also restores Energy when an defeated enemy was affected by his DoT, improving his Ultimate uptime and overall consistency of his Burn application.

Jiaoqiu Build Comments

Character Overview Build Advice

Character Overview

Jiaoqiu is a Fire Nihility support who focuses on enhancing his team's damage through powerful and consistent debuffs. His main mechanic, Ashen Roast, increases the damage enemies receive while also counting as Burn, allowing him to contribute Fire DoT damage alongside his supportive abilities. By continuously applying and refreshing these stacks through his abilities and Ultimate, Jiaoqiu can maintain high debuff uptime throughout the fight.

Jiaoqiu's Ultimate spreads Ashen Roast to enemies and then creates a Zone where enemies receive AoE damage and increased Ult damage, making him especially effective in multi-target battles where maintaining debuffs across the field is important. His Bonus Traces also reward building Effect Hit Rate, converting it into additional ATK to improve both his personal damage and Burn DoT output.

With reliable debuff application, strong team-wide damage amplification and natural synergy with DoT and traditional hypercarry teams, Jiaoqiu is a flexible support capable of greatly increasing overall team damage while contributing consistent Fire damage of his own.

Build Advice

Jiaoqiu is best built as a fast debuffer who can reliably apply his effects while generating enough energy to use his Ultimate frequently. Prioritising EHR and SPD is important, with a target of around 140% EHR and around 160+ SPD to maximise his debuff consistency and benefit from his trace bonuses fully. An Energy Regeneration Rate rope is generally recommended to support quicker Ultimate rotations.

For Light Cones, the best options, such as Those Many Springs and Lies Dance on the Breeze, offer the strongest performance, while accessible alternatives like Before the Tutorial Mission Starts and Resolution Shines as Pearls of Sweat remain strong choices.

In terms of relics, a combination of SPD-focused sets provides the most reliable overall performance, although Eagle of Twilight Line can work well in modes where taking additional actions is especially valuable, such as Pure Fiction. For Planar Ornaments, Sprightly Vonwacq, Fleet of the Ageless and Pan-Cosmic Commercial Enterprise are all strong options depending on team needs. For example, you would use Fleet of the Ageless if your team scales from ATK; otherwise, it's not worth using this set over the others.

When upgrading traces, focus on the Talent first, followed by the Skill and Ultimate, as these abilities provide the majority of Jiaoqiu's flexibility and team support. His performance is particularly strong in teams that benefit from consistent debuffs, including Acheron compositions and certain Damage over Time lineups, while Pure Fiction teams may find additional value in Ultimate-focused builds and alternative Light Cone choices such as Solitary Healing.

Jiaoqiu's Best Teams

Jiaoqiu's Best Eidolons

  • E6 – Upon defeating an enemy, remaining Ashen Roast stacks transfer to the enemy with the lowest stack count. The maximum stack count increases to 9, with each stack reducing All-Type RES by 3%, improving team damage. This is highly beneficial for Jiaoqiu as his Ashen Stacks are what make up most of his kit's damage.
  • E2 – E2 increases the Fire DoT multiplier of Ashen Roast by 300%, significantly boosting Jiaoqiu's Burn damage. This is another important Eidolon for Jiaoqiu as it massively increases the DoT multiplier. As a result, his Burn effect deals much higher and more consistent damage over time, making E2 a strong breakpoint for DoT-focused teams.
  • E1 – Jiaoqiu's E1 increases the DMG allies deal to Ashen Roast targets by 40%. It also applies 1 additional Ashen Roast stack when triggered through Jiaoqiu's Talent, improving debuff uptime. This greatly boosts the team's damage against affected enemies and improves consistency by stacking Ashen Roast faster, keeping the debuff active more reliably.
  • E4 – Reduces enemies' ATK by 15% while Jiaoqiu's zone is active, improving team survivability. This is a decent Eidolon as it strips enemy ATK, but compared to his other Eidolons, it doesn't provide much consistent value.
