What Is the Path of Nihility in Honkai: Star Rail?

The Path of Nihility represents characters who weaken enemies through debuffs, or damage-over-time (DoT) effects. Rather than dealing big hits up front, they chip away at enemy strength while making your team more effective by lowering enemy defenses or disabling them.

Combat Role and Gameplay

Nihility characters excel at applying debuffs and various damage-over-time effects. These debuffs stack up and either directly harm enemies over time or make them easier for your DPS units to eliminate.

Unlike burst damage dealers from other Paths like The Hunt, Nihility units take a more strategic role. Their damage often ramps up over multiple turns, and their utility comes from disrupting enemy strategies and making sure your team survives longer.

Characters on this Path often benefit from extending battles to maximize their debuff uptime. They're especially useful in long fights, where stacking damage and weakening enemies pays off in the long run.

Nihility characters pair well with other debuffers or supports that boost their DoT output or help them trigger Break effects more often. They're highly valuable in Simulated Universe.
