The Stolen Lance - God Hunter Argentus Boss Guide
God Hunter Argentus is the final boss of the Stolen Lance Monolith Timeline in Last Epoch. The fight takes place in the Argentum Spire arena and is a multiphase encounter. During his Phase 2, he spawns a lot of adds that have to be killed. The fight itself is not very complicated, but enough to force you to come prepared.
Boss Mechanics
Here is a detailed breakdown of all major abilities and what to watch out for.
Turret Adds
Three adds will spawn at the edges of the arena. Similar to turrets, they will shoot straight forward in lines towards the exact place you are standing. They will follow your every movement for a few seconds, before locking in place, giving you a split second to move out before they start shooting.
Lance Stab
This is a very basic melee attack where he will just poke with his lance right in front of him, dealing physical damage. Even if you get hit by this, it can be tanked by almost any build.
Ice Lance Stab
A bit similar to the normal stab, he will stab in a long line in front of him but this time dealing Cold and Physical damage. You get afflicted with frostbite if you get hit. This one can be evaded easily, since you will see a cold trail on the ground a second before he stabs, giving you enough time to move out.
AoE Fire Bombs
This attack can be a bit tricky, as he will spawn fire circles on the ground, that will spin outwards from him in a spiral shape. He will first place all the circles on the ground, before detonating them one after the other. You should have enough time to find a safe spot in between before they detonate. If you get hit they deal Fire damage.
Ice Nova
He will surround himself in a bubble of Ice. You can see the attack incoming as he will first put an ice circle on the surrounding ground. You have the time to move out before the circle turns into a powerful ice bubble that deals massive cold damage, and can chill and apply frostbite.
Fire Dash
He will simply charge you with a fire attack. This attack is hard to evade, but easily tanked by any build. It does a bit of Fire and Physical damage.
Summons
During Phase 2, he will spawn a lot of adds that you have to kill. The boss will leave the arena during this time. Be particularly careful with the Mages as they can shoot meteors that can quickly become deadly, especially when there are multiple mages on the field. Kill those first.
Fire Leap
During Phase 3, he will fly up in the air, draw a fire circle on the ground, before smashing down into it. As he lands, he will also shoot projectiles outwards. The projectiles can do high Fire damage, so be careful. You will see where exactly they will shoot at, as the lines will appear on the ground right before.
Encounter Walkthrough & Strategy
His attacks should not be too hard to avoid, as most of them have an area on the ground before he detonates or lands them, giving you plenty of time to move out. Always keep an eye at what spawns, and react on time.
Recommended Defensive Stats:
- 75% Fire Resistance
- 75% Cold Resistance
- 75% Physical Resistance
- High movement speed or blink/dash skill is strongly advised
Unique Boss-Specific Rewards
