Ju Fufu Guide and Best Builds
Ju Fufu Guide & Best Builds
Welcome to our Ju Fufu build guide for Zenless Zone Zero. Ju Fufu is a powerful S-Rank Fire Stun Agent who provides high squad-wide CRIT DMG buffs. In our guide, we will cover everything you need to know to get the most out of your Ju Fufu, from building the best Drive Discs and W-Engines, to important stat priorities and combos.
For most players, there are two primary goals when building Ju Fufu:
- Build a total of 3,400 ATK for Core Passive: Fu-rocious Might's Tiger's Roar buff
- Build a minimum of 50% CRIT Rate for Drive Disc King of the Summit's 4-Piece Set Effect
Ju Fufu's Best W-Engines
Listed below are Ju Fufu's best W-Engines. While W-Engines are listed in a priority order, what is best to build can vary slightly depending on your team composition or account funding.
Roaring Fur-nace
The Daze dealt by the equipper's EX Special Attack, Chain Attack, and Ultimate increases by 28/32.2/36.4/40.6/44.8%.
When using a Chain Attack or Ultimate to deal Fire DMG, the DMG dealt by all squad members increases by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16%, stacking up to 2 times and lasting 30s. The duration of each stack is calculated separately. Triggers once per use of a skill. Only one instance of this effect can exist in the same squad.
Ju Fufu's arguably best W-Engine to build with is her Signature W-Engine: Roaring Fur-nace. Not only is the W-Engine Effect: Tiger Spirit Rising tailored for Ju Fufu's general gameplay, she also benefits heavily from the 30% ATK Advanced Stat and high Base ATK it provides.
To reach 3,400 ATK for her Core Passive, Ju Fufu with Roaring Fur-nace only requires an additional 79% ATK from her Drive Discs. This is the lowest amount of ATK % required from any Stun W-Engine currently available in Zenless Zone Zero, and it can be made up from building both ATK and ATK %. The flexibility this W-Engine provides will make building Ju Fufu's Drive Discs significantly easier.
Thanks to the high ATK Roaring Fur-nace can provide, Ju Fufu can also have an easier time building CRIT Rate on her Drive Discs. Though 30.6% CRIT Rate might seem like a lot, it is relatively simple to obtain, whether from using a CRIT Rate Main Stat on Drive Disc 4, or through Disc substats alone.
Spectral Gaze
When the equipper's Aftershock hits an enemy, causing Electric DMG, the target's DEF is reduced by 25/28.75/32.5/36.25/40% for 5s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack. When this effect is triggered, if the equipper is not the active character, they gain 1 stack of Spirit Lock, up to a maximum of 3 stacks. This can trigger only once per use of a skill. Each stack of Spirit Lock increases the equipper's Impact by 4/4.6/5.2/5.8/6.4%, lasting 12s. The duration of each stack is calculated separately. At full stacks of Spirit Lock, the equipper's Impact increases by an additional 8/9.2/10.4/11.6/12.8%.
On the other hand, if players do not have Roaring Fur-nace, Ju Fufu can also take advantage of Trigger's Signature W-Engine, the Spectral Gaze.
Please note that Spectral Gaze is only recommended for its Stats; Ju Fufu is unable to fully utilize the W-Engine Effect: Wind Seeker, as she neither deals Electric DMG nor benefits greatly from building Impact.
Spectral Gaze's stats are unique for a Stun W-Engine, as it provides both the same high Base ATK as Roaring Fur-nace, and has a CRIT Rate Advanced Stat. Both stats are advantageous for Ju Fufu, as the W-Engine's CRIT Rate removes the need for a Partition 4 Disc with a CRIT Rate Main Stat. In addition, the high Base ATK makes building Ju Fufu's ATK easier, only requiring a total of 109% ATK from her Drive Discs.
As Spectral Gaze does not have any ATK %, this means that Ju Fufu will need to prioritize as much ATK % Substat Distributions as possible on her Drive Discs.
Chief Sidekick
The equipper's Impact increases by 30/33/36/39/42, and their DMG ignores 15/17.2/19.5/21.7/24% of the target's Fire RES. When the equipper is not the active character, Energy Regen increases by 0.4/0.46/0.52/0.58/0.64/s. When the equipper deals Fire DMG with an EX Special Attack, all Agents' DMG increases by 12.5/14.4/16.3/18.1/20% for 30s, stacking up to 2 times. Repeated triggers reset the duration. This effect can trigger once per skill. Only one instance of this effect can exist in the same squad.
While Ju Fufu prefers to build ATK first over CRIT Rate, the rest of the Chief Sidekick's W-Engine effect is solid — especially when in combat against enemies with Fire weakness.
Blazing Laurel
Upon launching a Quick Assist or Perfect Assist, the equipper's Impact increases by 25/28.75/32.5/36.25/40% for 8s. When the equipper launches and hits an enemy with a Basic Attack, apply Wilt to the target for 30s, stacking up to 20 times, repeated triggers reset the duration. When any squad member hits an enemy, for every stack of Wilt applied to the target, the CRIT DMG of the Ice DMG and Fire DMG dealt by that attack increases by 1.5/1.72/1.95/2.17/2.4%. Only one instance of this effect can exist in the same squad.
If neither Roaring Fur-nace nor Spectral Gaze are available, players are recommended to use an available W-Engine with the highest Base ATK, or ones with W-Engine Effects Ju Fufu can use. For example, Blazing Laurel has the highest Base ATK available for a functional Impact Stun W-Engine.
If the W-Engine has the same Base ATK as Roaring Fur-nace, at 48 ATK(Lv.0) or 713 ATK(Lv.60), Ju Fufu will only need an additional 109% ATK, just like Spectral Gaze. For example, W-Engines like Blazing Laurel and Ice-Jade Teapot.
Hellfire Gears
While off-field, the equipper's Energy Regen increases by 0.6/0.75/0.9/1.05/1.2/s.
When using an EX Special Attack, the equipper's Impact is increased by 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% for 10s, stacking up to 2 times. The duration of each stack is calculated separately.
If the W-Engine has a lower Base ATK than Roaring Fur-nace, at 46 ATK(Lv.0) or 684 ATK(Lv.60), Ju Fufu will need an additional 113% ATK, which is only attainable with at least one 30% ATK Main Stat in her Drive Discs. W-Engines that fall under this category include Hellfire Gears and The Restrained.
Box Cutter
Upon launching an Aftershock, the equipper's Physical DMG increases by 15/17.3/19.5/21.8/24%, and Daze increases by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16%, lasting 10s.
Box Cutter has the highest Base ATK for an A-Rank, and also increases Daze following Aftershock DMG, which Ju Fufu can use to effectively stun enemies. This W-Engine works as a temporary measure until you can obtain an S-Rank W-Engine instead.
However, Ju Fufu will not benefit much from the Physical DMG increase.
Best Drive Discs for Ju Fufu
King of the Summit
4-Piece Set: When the equipper is a Stun character and uses an EX Special Attack or Chain Attack, increases CRIT DMG of all squad members by 15%, and when the equipper's CRIT Rate is more than or equal to 50%, further increases CRIT DMG by 15%, lasting 15s. Repeated triggers reset the duration. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
Ju Fufu should be running a 4-Piece King of the Summit, as this is a Drive Disc set specifically tailored just for her. It not only increases her capabilities as a Stun Agent, but also increases the CRIT DMG of everyone in the squad. This CRIT DMG buff is also further increased if Ju Fufu can reach at least 50% CRIT Rate.
Every Stun W-Engine currently available can run a 4-Piece King of the Summit build.
2-Piece Recommendations include:
- Woodpecker Electro (if you need CRIT Rate)
- Astral Voice or Hormone Punk (if you need ATK)
- Shockstar Disco (only with Roaring Fur-nace)
Depending on the player's account progression, it will likely be easier to build Ju Fufu using either a 2-Piece from Astral Voice or Hormone Punk. Both Drive Disc sets feature an unconditional 10% ATK bonus, which helps greatly with reaching the 3,400 ATK threshold for Ju Fufu.
Alternatively, Ju Fufu can also run a 2-Piece Woodpecker Electro instead, which has an unconditional 8% CRIT Rate bonus. This can be paired with a 4-Piece King of the Summit to fulfill the 50% CRIT Rate conditional effect.
If, for some reason, players are able to meet the ATK and CRIT Rate without the use of any of the Drive Disc sets mentioned, they should run a 2-Piece Shockstar Disco so Ju Fufu has some extra Stun and Daze benefits.
Hormone Punk
4-Piece Set: Upon becoming the active character in combat, the equipper's ATK increases by 25% for 10s. This effect can trigger once every 20s.
The other 4-Piece recommendation, Hormone Punk, is only viable if Ju Fufu cannot reach 3,400 ATK on her own. The Drive Disc Set Effect allows her to not only get 10% ATK unconditionally, but also gives another 25% ATK whenever she enters combat or switches in for 10s. Using this set is only if players are unable to farm for King of the Summit.
2-Piece Recommendations include:
- Woodpecker Electro (if you need CRIT Rate)
- Astral Voice (if you need ATK)
- Shockstar Disco (only with Roaring Fur-nace)
Ju Fufu's Stat Priority
Prioritize building ATK up to a multiplier total of 129%, or the equivalent of 3,400 ATK. When possible, then obtain at least 50% CRIT Rate.
Ju Fufu's Skill Priority
Ju Fufu's Core Skill is the first skill to prioritize, as the Tiger's Roar state provides additional CRIT DMG to the whole squad. The CRIT DMG value increase is dependent on how much you invest in Core Passive: Fu-rocious Might.
How to Play Ju Fufu
Ju Fufu's basic gameplay is very straightforward on the surface, but there is a lot going on with every action she does. She is considered an off-field Stun Agent, as Ju Fufu can continue attacking her enemies while the player controls someone else.
To summarize, Ju Fufu's gameplay loop can look something like this:
- Build Energy for EX Special Attack via Basic Attack Combo
- Use EX Special Attack or Ultimate to gain Momentum and Might
- With enough Momentum, use Dash Attack: Mountain King's Game
- With enough Might, use Chain Attack: Suppressing Tiger's Cauldron (Tiger's Roar Buff)
- Dash Attack can trigger Chain Attack; Chain Attack can trigger Dash Attack
- Loop ends when Ju Fufu does not have enough Momentum or Might
Ju Fufu's primary goals are to build enough Momentum and Might so she can continuously attack off-field. Her Dash Attack and Chain Attack can automatically trigger off each other with enough resources.
How does Ju Fufu work?
If Ju Fufu is on-field and the active Agent, she is able to repeatedly continue her Basic Attacks, Tiger Seven Forms - Flaming Claw, until she executes the final hit. This is known as the Basic Attack Combo:
> > ... > (Hold)
As Ju Fufu performs the Basic Attack Combo, she not only builds enough Energy for her EX Special Attack: Tiger Seven Forms Alt - Mountain-Descending Savage Tiger, but her trusty companion Hu Wei can also attack enemies and gain Might.
When Ju Fufu has enough Might built up, she can trigger a special Chain Attack: Suppressing Tiger Cauldron, which provides a unique buff to all Agents. Her buff is known as Tiger's Roar, and it increases the squad's overall CRIT DMG, Chain Attack DMG, and Ultimate DMG.
What is Hu Wei? Why is Might Important?
Hu Wei is a passive attacker on-field that belongs to Ju Fufu. If Ju Fufu is alive, so is Hu Wei. Whenever Hu Wei attacks, Ju Fufu gains Might, which is needed in order to trigger her special Chain Attack: Suppressing Tiger Cauldron.
It is important to prioritize Chain Attack: Suppressing Tiger Cauldron over her standard Chain Attack: Tiger Cauldron Collapse, because it is how she can provide her Tiger's Roar buff to other Agents.
How to Build and Spend Momentum and Might
Though it may seem confusing to keep track of two different resources for Ju Fufu, on top of her Energy for her EX Special Attack, it is a lot more straightforward than it seems.
Ju Fufu can only gain Might from the following:
- Hu Wei's attacks
- Her EX Special Attack
- If she is spinning under Dash Attack: Tiger Seven Forms - Mountain King's Game
- Her Ultimate: Tiger Seven Forms - Raging Tiger Explosion
In all of the skills mentioned, you can think of it as Hu Wei also attacking, which is why she can gain Might.
However, in order for Ju Fufu to spin under Mountain King's Game properly, she needs Momentum. Momentum can be built by using any of the following skills:
- EX Special Attack: Tiger Seven Forms Alt - Mountain-Descending Savage Tiger
- Assist Follow-Up: Feral Blazing Maw
- Ultimate: Tiger Seven Forms - Raging Tiger Explosion
To spend Momentum, you would perform either her Mountain King's Game (through a Dash Attack) or her Chain Attack: Suppressing Tiger's Cauldron (which can automatically trigger Mountain King's Game).
To spend Might, Ju Fufu just needs a Chain Attack to trigger, which will automatically spend her Might (if 100 Might is available). This will cause Suppressing Tiger Cauldron and her CRIT DMG buff to occur.
If you have neither Momentum or Might, you should prioritize using her EX Special Attack or Ultimate when they are available.
Ju Fufu's Best Mindscapes
Overall, Ju Fufu's Mindscape Cinema is solid all-around, as getting any Mindscapes will make building her easier, or better yet, make Ju Fufu's place in a CRIT DMG squad more important than other Agents.
For players who are not planning to invest much, it is significantly better to go for Ju Fufu's Signature W-Engine first, then her M1: Super Scary Little Tiger second. This Mindscape allows her to off-set some of the CRIT Rate required for her Best-in-Slot Drive Disc set, but it also improves her Stun capabilities. As she often deals DMG while off-field, anything to help her DMG is better than nothing.
Her next best Mindscape upgrade is M2: Almighty Qingming Warrior, as the additional CRIT DMG increase is well appreciated by any Agent who wants more CRIT DMG. This can be a particularly difficult stat to build, so this Mindscape allows for more leeway with your Equipment choices. If triggered, the bonus Momentum helps with keeping Ju Fufu off-field for much longer too.
Her remaining Mindscape Upgrades at M4 and M6 are equally useful in improving Ju Fufu's personal DMG output, especially the Chain Attack DMG bonuses from her M6: Roar of My Inner Tiger. However, they are not as significant as her initial Mindscapes, so it is more efficient to focus on building Ju Fufu's squad and recommended stats first.
