General Information

On this page, we explain what the best statistics are for Elemental Shamans in World of Warcraft WoD 6.0.3, how the class benefits from each of them.

The statistics priority is important as it influences itemisation choices (gear, enchants, and gems).

The other pages of our Elemental Shaman guide can be accessed from the table of contents on the right.

1. Basics↑top

The stat priority for an Elemental Shaman is:

  1. Intellect;
  2. Multistrike;
  3. Critical Strike;
  4. Haste;
  5. Mastery;
  6. Versatility.

Critical Strike and Haste offer comparable single-target DPS performance, but Critical Strike offers better AoE DPS, which is why it is valued over Haste.

These statistics have been obtained by combining common sense, in-game testing, and simulations using Simulation Craft.

If you are unsure how to conform your gear to the above priority, you can Ask Mr. Robot for a personalised optimisation of your character's gear, by filling the form below.

Intellect is your primary stat. You should look for this stat in all of your upgrades. It provides you with Spell Power, which increases the damage of your spells.

Multistrike causes your abilities to have an increased chance to hit/heal a second and a third time, each time dealing 30% of the initial damage/heal.

Multistrike is your most important stat. Thanks to your Elemental Overload Icon Elemental Overload passive, you have a base amount of 20% multistrike and your multistrike damage is increased by 35%. It means that your multistrikes deal 40.5% of the damage of your attacks, instead of only 30% for other classes. Also, multistrikes with Lightning Bolt Icon Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning Icon Chain Lightning grant charges of Lightning Shield Icon Lightning Shield, thanks to Fulmination Icon Fulmination. This explains why Multistrike is so important for Elemental Shamans.

Critical Strike increases your chance to critically hit with all spells and abilities.

Haste influences the cast speed of your spells and the number of ticks of your Flame Shock Icon Flame Shock and Earthquake Icon Earthquake.

Mastery increases the damage that Mastery: Molten Earth Icon Mastery: Molten Earth and Earthquake Icon Earthquake do.

Versatility is a flat-out damage done increase and damage taken reduction.
