General Information

On this page, we explain what the best statistics are for Retribution Paladins in World of Warcraft WoD 6.0.2, how the class benefits from each of them.

The statistics priority is important as it influences itemisation choices (gear, enchants, and gems).

The other pages of our Retribution Paladin guide can be accessed from the table of contents on the right.

The stat priority for Retribution Paladins is:

  1. Strength;
  2. Haste until 40% (with raid buffs);
  3. Mastery;
  4. Critical Strike;
  5. Versatility;
  6. Multistrike.

These statistics have been obtained by combining common sense, in-game testing, and simulations using Simulation Craft.

If you are unsure how to conform your gear to the above priority, you can Ask Mr. Robot for a personalised optimisation of your character's gear, by filling the form below.

2.1. Statistics Priority

Strength is your primary statistic. You should look for it in all of your upgrades. It provides you with Attack Power, which determines the damage your abilities do.

Haste increases your attack speed and lower the cooldown and global cooldown of Crusader Strike Icon Crusader Strike, Judgment Icon Judgment, Hammer of Wrath Icon Hammer of Wrath, and Hammer of the Righteous Icon Hammer of the Righteous. This leads to a higher Holy Power generation.

Mastery (Mastery: Hand of Light Icon Mastery: Hand of Light) causes three of your important abilities to deal extra damage, as Holy damage.

Critical Strike increases your chance to critically hit with all spells and abilities.

Versatility increases all your damage and healing done, and decreases all damage taken.

Multistrike causes your abilities to have a chance to hit/heal a second and a third time, each time dealing 30% of the initial damage/heal.
