Welcome to our guide to AAC Heavyweight M2, the second encounter in the third and final raid tier of The Arcadion. This guide aims to prepare players for the raid so they will know what to expect, with simple mechanic instructions and notes on what to watch out for.

1.

Introduction

The Xtremes are the second boss fought in AAC Heavyweight.

2.

How to Unlock The Xtremes

To unlock AAC Heavyweight M2, players must undertake the quest "Daring Devils" in the Arcadion Heavyweight questline, unlocked by completing AAC Cruiserweight. There is a minimum item level restriction of 745 to enter through the duty finder in a matched party.

3.

Lore

Introducing themselves by devastating Tritails Training, the Xtremes have not only challenged you, but made matters personal. Professional surfers infamous for their dangerous stunts and destructive behavior, the duo harness the souls of storm divers in battle to manipulate the elements of fire and water. For the sake of your second and more, it's time you taught these gym-wreckers some manners.

Raid Guide

The Xtremes are fought on a square arena with a death wall. They are comprised of two bosses: Red Hot and Deep Blue. Both bosses cannot be killed until the other one is due to their Brotherly Love buff. Many attacks in the fight leave a burning puddle, which inflicts a DoT if stepped in.

4.1.

Phase One

You fight both Xtremes, Red Hot and Deep Blue in phase one.

4.2.

Phase One Mechanics

The Xtremes have the following mechanics in phase one.

  • Hot Impact: A shared tank buster on the main tank.
  • Alley-oop Inferno: Marked AoEs on all players. Leaves a burning puddle on the player's location.
  • Cutback Blaze: Marked conal AoEs on two players. Leaves a burning slice on the player's location.
  • Diver's Dare: Magical raidwide damage. Removes all burning puddles on the arena.
  • Sickest Take-off: Deep Blue becomes untargetable and goes to the front of the arena, creating a giant wave. This will knock players back with a line AoE from where Deep Blue is.
  • Deep Varial: Deep Blue surfs to an edge of the arena with a wave, then does a large conal AoE towards the middle of the arena.
  • Xtreme Spectacular: Both bosses become untargetable and do a proximity line AoE down the middle of the arena. They will pulse light raidwide damage afterwards.
4.3.

Phase One Strategy

  • The fight begins with a shared tank buster. Mitigate early to execute your opener.
  • Red Hot will use Alley-oop Inferno, Cutback Blaze, and Diver's Dare in succession. Drop the puddles away from the centre, then cleave the back of the arena to not trap any players.
  • The raidwide removes the puddles. He does this sequence again but with Cutback Blaze first.
  • After Diver's Dare, Red Hot will become untargetable and Deep Blue joins the battle.
  • He is targetable for a bit before jumping to the front of the arena, becoming untargetable, and using Sickest Take-off. Stand off to the sides.
  • Once he begins casting Deep Varial, quickly head to the edge of the arena indicated to dodge the large conal AoE.
  • After another cast, Red Hot joins the battle together. They will cast Xtreme Spectacular and become untargetable. Move to the safe edge of the arena from the proximity line AoE.
4.4.

Phase Two

You will fight both bosses in the second phase. Both bosses are targetable, but will heal each other if ones HP is too high or low. When fire puddles are hit by a wave mechanic, they'll explode in a larger AoE around them.

4.5.

Phase Two Mechanics

The Xtremes introduce or change the following mechanics in phase two.

  • Hot Aerial: Creates fire towers that must be soaked by 1 player. These leave behind a burning puddle.
  • Sick Swell: The same as Sickest Take-off, but indicates which edge of the arena Deep Blue goes to.
  • Pyrolation: A stack marker on a healer which leaves behind a burning puddle.
  • Alley-oop Maelstrom: Conal AoEs from Deep Blue.
  • Firesnaking and Watersnaking: Both bosses will mark four players with their respective debuffs. They become omni-directional and surf in a curve to the indicated location. From there, they blast two players with large conal AoEs. Fire AoEs create a burning cone, and if a water AoE intersects it creates an exploding orb AoE.
4.6.

Phase Two Strategy

  • Once both bosses are targetable, the OT should pick up one of the bosses.
  • Soak the Hot Aerial towers and get out afterwards. Deep Blue will cast Sick Swell, so look at the edge he surfs to in order to dodge the line AoE with knockback. Red Hot will cast Hot Impact when Deep Blue leaves.
  • When fire puddles are hit by a water mechanic, they'll create an orb that explodes in a large AoE. Dodge the exploding orbs.
  • Try to place Pyrolation's puddle directly in the centre, or off to the side in a corner as to keep space open.
  • Deep Blue casts Alley-oop Maelstrom which trigger the fire puddles again.
  • Double Diver's Dare will remove all the burning puddles from the floor.
  • The next mechanic is Firesnaking and Watersnaking. Check which mark you have: fire players need to go near Red Hot and water players need to go near Deep Blue. Point the cones towards the outside of the arena from the spot they dash to in order to not trigger multiple explosions.
  • These puddles are removed with another Diver's Dare.
  • The bosses then do a nasty combo with mechanics seen previously. Cutblaze Blaze is first, followed by Alley-oop Maelstrom, triggering explosions. This is followed by another Cutback Blaze and Alley-oop Inferno. This creates a very tiny area to spread in. As a tank or healer don't be afraid to walk into the burning area already to make room.
  • The bosses repeat previously seen mechanics from here.
