Welcome to our guide to The Meso Terminal, an endgame dungeon released in Patch 7.3. This guide aims to prepare players for the dungeon so they will know what to expect, with simple mechanic instructions and notes on what to watch out for.

1.

Introduction

Dungeon 11 Banner FFXIV

The lights of Living Memory no longer shine, and the Meso Terminal at its center stands silent amidst the wistful echoes of lives once lived. A monument to the existence of the Alexandrian people, as well as a resting place for their memories, it is within this soaring spire that Calyx maintains his stronghold.

The self-proclaimed architect of mankind's evolution has invited you to confront him in the upper reaches of the terminal─an invitation you must accept lest his atrocities continue to escalate. Step into the structure's glowing interior, and begin your wary ascent through the midst of the dreaming Endless...

Unlocking The Meso Terminal

The Meso Terminal can be unlocked at Level 100 from the main scenario quest "Dreams of Paradise". It is the capstone dungeon players will encounter in Dawntrail Patch 7.3, The Promise of Tomorrow.

Max-level dungeons should be done with wall-to-wall pulls, as player gear outscales any incoming damage the mobs do. Make sure to mitigate the packs and use effective healing and damage cooldowns to burn the trash down quickly.

2.1.

First Boss Trash Mobs

No mobs in the first trash pack is threatening. Approach the fake wall on the second pull to continue down the path to the end. Preserved Medics will cast Alexandrian Gravity, which does 50% of your maximum health in an AoE. As the pull is 7 of these, be careful to not get hit by any.

2.2.

Chirurgeon General

The first boss uses the following abilities.

  • Medicine Field: Raidwide magic damage. Creates a bleed wall.
  • Pungent Aerosol: Knockback from the indicated marker. Deals magic damage.
  • Sterile Sphere: Two large circle AoEs and two small circle AoEs.
  • Biochemical Front: Turns and does a frontal AoE covering half the arena.
  • Sensory Deprivation: All countdown markers are distorted.
  • Concentrated Dose: Magic tank buster. Inflicts a 15 second potent poison DoT.

Sensory Deprivation will prevent you from seeing the countdown of Pungent Aerosol and Sterile Sphere AoEs. For Pungent Aerosol, there will be two knockback markers. The first one that appeared alongside the Sterile Sphere AoEs is the one that goes off. For Sterile Sphere, remember the safe spots and go to them when their countdown markers appear.

2.3.

Second Boss Trash Mobs

No mobs in these trash packs are threatening. The Preserved Prisoners do a point-blank AoE, but this does not do too much damage.

2.4.

The Hooded Headsmen

The party will do battle with the four Headsmen: the Ravenous Headsman, the Bloody Headsman, the Pale Headsman, and the Pestilent Headsman. These will each tether to one player, pull them to it, and lock them in a circular arena. This inflicts a debuff that prevents damage taken and dealt by and to other Headsmen. Their names are cosmetic as tanks, healers, and DPS will have the same mechanics each time. They use the following abilities.

  • Lawless Pursuit: Tethers each player, inflicting them with a Cell Block debuff.
  • Head-splitting Roar: Raidwide magic damage.
  • Shackles of Fate: Chains players to the Headsman and binds them momentarily. They are unable to leave the cell until the Headsman is dead.
  • Dismemberment: Two sets of two blades appear around the cell. These do a line AoE where they are pointed towards.
  • Peal of Judgment: Four lightning walls appear around the cell and slowly move across.
  • Execution Wheel: Donut AoE.
  • Chopping Block: Point-blank AoE.
  • Flaying Flail: Three spiked balls appear. They do an AoE underneath them.
  • Will Breaker: Must be interrupted. Only cast by the Headsman attacking the tank.
  • Death Penalty: Inflicts a cleansable Doom debuff. Only cast by the Headsman attacking the healer.
  • Peal of Judgment (DPS): The DPS cells are now on fire, inflicting a small burn DoT.
  • Relentless Torment: Three-hit physical tank buster. Only cast by the Headsman attacking the tank.
  • Serial Torture: Casts Dismemberment, Flaying Flail, and an AoE in quick succession.

Once your Headsman has been killed, you can attack others freely.

2.5.

Final Boss Trash Mobs

No mobs in these trash packs are threatening.

2.6.

Immortal Remains

Immortal Remains summons memories: small ghosts that indicate where the mechanics will occur. Players can fall or get knocked off the arena. The final boss uses the following abilities.
  • Recollection: Raidwide magic damage.
  • Memento: Changes the arena. Each Memento cast adds mechanics that can occur when memories spawn.
    • Normal Alexandria will summon adds at the edge of the arena, tethering to memories. These do a line AoE across the room. This is indicated by "Memories of the slain are made manifest..."
    • Burning Alexandria will spawn memories in clumps or by themselves. Clumped memories indicate a large AoE, while single memories indicate a small AoE. This is indicated by "Memories of an enemy bombardment are made manifest..."
    • Electrified Alexandria will spawn memories that run in a line. These indicate a giant line AoE in the direction they ran. This is indicated by "Memories of war casualties are made manifest..."
  • Memory of the Storm: Line stack AoE.
  • Turmoil: The boss raises one arm and slams down on half the arena. There is no castbar, and it shows "The Immortal Remains is gathering energy..."
  • Impression: Knockback from the centre of the arena.
  • Memory of the Pyre: Magic tank buster.

The boss eventually does all three Memento mechanics in sequence randomly. Note how the memories spawn and dodge accordingly.
