It sounds like you need a mouse-over macro.

With this macro, whoever your mouse is currently hovering over, it will cast PWS on them. If it hovers over nobody, it will cast it on your target. If you have no target or your target is an enemy, it will cast it on you.

thankyou!! does this also work with shadow word: pain? like is there a way to target my tanks target and apply pain

The mouseovers worked like a charm- also setting my tank as my focus made it so when i used shield it went to him and not me.

THings to work on- remembering to apply atonement to myself also :) and dispelling. Everything else went incredibly smooth

Hi, hope that someone can help me..

if I cast PW-radiance, I apply attonement to target plus 2 nearest targets to primary..

but does it also  avoid targets who already have atonement on them.?

It's done on a priority system. This is the system:

Quote

-Power Word: Radiance favor players without Atonement, then players with Atonement, then non-players.

how do you track this? i just tried LFR with the elvUI and it was difficult to see who even needed healing let alone who i had atonement on which should have only been the 2 tanks

You shouldn't only need atonement on the 2 tanks... when raiding, have atonement on 6 people as much of the time as you can (6 is the cut-off point when plea becomes more expensive in terms of mana to add to targets than radiance does)

theres a small add-on for tracking atonement (stand alone add on) that puts a border around the player in the raid frame... green when theyre "atoned" red when near coming off of it (5 secs i think) and then disapears when not "atoned"

I use the standard blizz raid frames, you dont need to over complicate

TellMeWhen is key for me... add graphics to the middle of your screen (where you're looking) that flash /ping / shake when they're ready to cast again... so for example I have a box with the penance pic on it which counts down from 9-1 secs and then pings a sound and shakes when its done (i.e. when I can cast again)... same with Schism next to it and most of the other spells. I then have an atonement box (which tracks Plea since the standard blizz Plea spell shows the number of peeps you have atonement on). I have pic / boxes for penance / schism / divine star / mind bender... all the ones i use regularly. it just makes your rotation so slick cos you don't have to look away so much to see timers / CD's etc

when you raid and you have more than 6 atonements up and want to heal the raid en-masse... radiance is a must as it cots less than plea at that point.... imagine lights wrath damage and healing when you have atonement on 20 players!!!!

I just released the AtonementBar addon to help with timing atonement buff windows around aoe bursts. Hopefully it'll be useful to someone.

how does it work - I like the idea just want to make sure before I download... assume the numbers are how many are going players you'll have "atoned" when that colour block reaches the end... do the colours shift up and down?

Just an FYI - Nether Anti-ToxinNether Anti-Toxin procs off heals via Atonement. Whether this makes it a good enough trinket (no Int), I'm not sure. I assume that this applies to all "Your healing spells..." trinkets.

It's normally just used to quickly spread atonement in an AoE situation.

Unfortunately, I think there is a cap on the number of players you can have Atonement up on!

It does indeed apply to all of them. I don't think the trinket is worth it, however.

Radiance applies atonement to 3 people does it not? that doesnt sound like a great aoe heal. I have vuhdo i can quickly just apply plea to 3 people

Does that use 3 GCDs to do? Might not have the time to do so in an intense Mythic+ or Mythic raid

In raids, might Grace be a good alternative to Purge the wicked? It's saving mana (penance spreads Purge) + extra damage (Purge does more damage than SW:P) VS. better shields and higher tank/single target healing on the spot.

Yes, you can definitely use it as an alternative.

Generic comment being mass posted over the comments threads guys.

We are aware of the changes and our writers are working hard to update the guides to suit what has changed. Currently, there is a lot of work still to be done and it's unlikely that every guide will be up-to-date immediately. Expect a flood of updates over the coming days that will answer all of your questions about what is now best after X change, in time for the reset next week.

Thanks for your understanding and patience.

There are currently no changes to disc in this week's "class tuning" update. The comment was put in the thread prior to all the changes being released, just in case Disc did receive any alterations. The only changes for Disc seems to be in PvP.

Guest Random Disc Priest

What's the role of a disc priest in a raid? I was thinking that their absorption spells could make them good tank healers and generally smoothing out the raid's damage intake, while reducing the dps loss of having an extra healer instead of a pure dps.

Throughout the duration of the event, you’ll be able to participate in three unique raids with iconic encounters from past expansions along with an old-school-inspired Alterac Valley battleground. Players who defeat all nine bosses in the raid wings will receive the Obsidian Worldbreaker, a Black Dragonflight mount inspired by Deathwing. Players who participate in Alterac Valley will receive a new anniversary event currency which can be exchanged for two new mounts: the Stormpike Battle Charger (Alliance) and the Frostwolf Snarler (Horde).

Where Is My Bee Mount? New Timewalking Raid: Firelands
When Cataclysm Timewalking is active, max-level players will be able to form raid groups and enter the Sulfuron Spire once more. As with previous Timewalking raids (Black Temple, Ulduar), your gear and power are scaled to the challenge, and all the bosses and rewards you expect lie in wait.
      Party Sync
Blizzard is experimenting with a new mode in the forthcoming patch that makes it easier for players in a party to do quests and play together: Party Sync. When players activate Party Sync, everyone in the party becomes aligned to the same quest state, including phases. By mousing over a quest in your tracker, you can see who is on the quest, what their progress is, and who’s ready to turn in the quest. There’s something else we’re going to try out on the PTR, a “replay” quest feature. This will allow players who have already completed certain quests to replay those quests with their friends for rewards that are appropriate to their current level, regardless of the original level of the quest.
They're also relaxing level restrictions on queueing for instanced content with your friends. This allows lower-level players to queue for content in their level range, and higher-level players can choose to join them by having their level scaled down while they’re in the instance. This feature will be available for dungeon instances for PTR Week 1, with PvP instances being flagged in the following weeks. Please note that unlike Timewalking, when your level is scaled down via Party Sync you will temporarily lose access to abilities and powers (such as Azerite traits) with requirements that exceed your reduced level.
Party Sync Detailed Recruit A Friend Returns
Coming in 8.2.5 is a revamped Recruit A Friend system. If you have active game time you’ll be able to recruit your friends—both brand-new to the game and returning champions—to share in your adventures. To do so, you’ll be able to use a new URL generation tool to create a custom link to give to your friends. By following the link, you’ll be connected to each other and will be able to see if they have purchased game time, resulting in rewards for you! For each month your recruits have active game time, you’ll earn a new reward such as unique pets, mounts, game time and more. These rewards unlock per month and scale with how many months your recruits have subscribed for. And, of course, with Party Sync you’ll be able to journey with your friends on any of your characters. We’ll have more information about Recruit A Friend rewards before 8.2.5 release.
