Stargazer Luna Revealed from The Boomsday Project

This Mage Legendary card was revealed in collaboration with Wronchi!

If you remember from the expansion announcement video, Hearthstone's developers were sucked into Netherstorm and it's up to Levi the intern to rescue them! As he ventures into Boom Labs, he encounters Stargazer Luna.

The video was made by Wronchi Animations, who have created many beloved and hilarious Hearthstone cartoons. There's probably going to be a second part, so expect more card reveals!

Now, let's talk about the card itself.

With a Netherstorm expansion, one would expect that the magnificent Kael'thas would have been the Mage Legendary. Instead, we get Stargazer Luna which is a very interesting card with a decent statline. She can complement perfectly Aggro/Burn Mage, but you could perhaps find her in Minion-based Mage decks: mostly Murloc Mage, but maybe Elemental Mage as well. She has potentially better tempo than Aluneth, but is more risky. You obviously don't want to play her on turn 3. Let the topdeck wars begin!

The reveal schedule is unclear at the moment, but it should go as with previous expansions: an initial reveal livestream on July 23, followed by roughly two weeks of card reveals by community sites and personalities, then a final stream before The Boomsday Project releases on August 7.

I think she is a fine play on turn 3.  If you are on the draw there is almost no way to efficiently kill a 4 health minion on turn 3.  Which means an aggro deck has strong odds of drawing one card off her on turn 4, maybe even 2.  Then you still have to deal with it.  Even if you coin swipe, or frostbolt coin ping or what ever to deal with it, that is still a 2 for 1 that keeps your opponent off development and that is still good.  Going to be really strong in most aggro decks.

That is a really interesting design idea, very powerful in burn decks where you need as much gas as possible.

I wonder...is there a synergy with Fire Fly? I mean, do you draw the card first and then get the Elemental on your hand (right-most) or the other way around?

Anyways, I see this mainly as a card for aggressive decks. Decks with cheap cards that don't care that much what to throw at their opponent. For Elemental-Mage it might be overkill, since the deck already draws a lot of cards and normally cares for getting the Elemental-trigger, forcing you to play another card then the right-most one.

Miracle mage incoming? 😮

This is not an auctioner, as you people have said, it's more about an aggro deck that use every fuel he can reach. This and aluneth can be really strong
